My 2005 cr-v AWD, four door locks failed within two months, first the passenger side door, then the rear passenger side, then the driver side, and then the tail door lock, I took it to a local dealer, and was told all the actuators were not working. I had two of them replaced, they are expensive. I was told there is a recall on the 2007 models, I think they should start an investigation on 2005 models also,
Headlight bulbs fail frequently (anywhere from approximately 3-6 months) for no apparent reason. Usually one side at a time. Normally, replacing the bulb has been an effective (if expensive) solution. However, most recently, replacing the bulb didn't fix the problem. Fuses are all o.k. From several on-line forums, this is a very well documented problem. There is currently an outstanding recall for this problem for model years 2002-2004 (NHTSA campaign number: 12v136000). From my research, this problem seems to be at least as prevalent (if not more so) in the 2005 and 2006 model years. Please expand the recall to include those model years and force Honda to own up to what appears to be a poor design issue. This is a safety issue.I have owned hondas for over 30 years, and exclusively for the
The low beam headlights have failed while the high beams continue to work. This same failure in other Honda models merited a safety recall. Please see Honda service bulletins 12-056 and 04-15. The 2005 cr-v has the same part, failure, and repair procedure for the light switch wire harness located in the steering column. I feel a safety recall should apply to my vehicle, since it is the same failure, same part to replace and same danger. This is a widely reported issue on the Honda service boards.

Why has **2005** cr-v not been recalled for headlight / safety malfunction? Driving in the dark, rain, or heavy (mn) snow all extremely unsafe. Have had 2005 passenger (right) side low-beam headlight replaced ~10 times in 18 months, driver side ~4 times. Passenger-side low-beam last replaced two weeks ago and is already out. Mechanic(s) find no cause. ***yes, I have seen that NHTSA dir ea11012 states, "analysis of complaint and Honda data show that a complete low beam headlight circuit failure occurs in models with 2-bulb headlight systems (I.e., a single bulb on each side for high and low beam). Models with 2-bulb systems include my 2002-2004 cr-v...models with 4-bulb headlight systems (I.e., two bulbs on each side, one for high and one for low beam) have different electrical circuits
On numerous occasions head light (s) fails. Internet research suggest that this is a common problem on all 2005 Honda crv's. The terminals corrode, arc and lose contact. *tr

Takata recall - we received written notice of the airbag recall in june 2016 for our 2005 Honda crv, and called our local Honda dealership, autonation Honda at 2999 w 104th ave, westminster, co 80234 to schedule an appointment for the repair on july 7, 2016. We were told by their service department that they would order the part, which should arrive within a week. They did not call back by the end of july, so we called back to ask about the part. We were told that they had no record of ever ordering the part, but said that they would do so immediately and expected the part to arrive in the next 4 weeks. I bought the car in august 2004. After a few months drove it to the mountain, put the snow chain and the car couldn't go more than 10mph, instead it make a loud roaring noise. Took to dealer but couldn't duplicate the problem. Call direct to Honda they said they couldn't do anything since the dealer didn't find any problems. Since than we drive another car whenever we went to the snow. Last weekend we went to palm springs aerial tram and the car make a loud noise that sound like it came from somewhere in the drivetrain parts. I thing this must have related to the same problem wen I went to the snow. I call a friend that has an independent car repair shop and told him what had happened. He advised me to call Honda because the car is defective since it was new. I called Honda and they said
When driving at a low rate of speed when making turns, the 2005 Honda crv grinds or chatters due to a problem with the rear differential (according to the dealer here in blacksburg,va). I was told a service bulletin exists for this problem but have been unable to find it. I was told it would cost $150 to fix. My vehicle has 40,000m on it. *tr

Driving down the on ramp onto I-95 my 2005 srv se engine caught on fire. The last time I serviced the car was last week for an oil change. Since then I have driven over 300 miles with no problems or warning signs. The car is not totaled and I am dealing with the insurance. *jb
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 Honda crv. The contact noticed that there was an oil leak in the head casket. The dealer repaired the failure; however, another oil leak was found near the ze ch actuator casket a few months later. The contact stated that the failure was related to the oil pressure regulator. The failure was previously repaired and now it is easy to observe if the failure was repaired correctly. The failure mileage was 8,524 and current mileage was 10,003.

The vehicle started to swerve, and the tire exploded. The contact managed to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road. The original 4 tires o exploded except one which remained on the vehicle. The contact has had the other two tires replaced with the same bridgestone dueler tire. *ak updated 01/30/07. *jb the consumer wrote in to say her last name and address had changed. Vibration in steering system of car after installing 4 new bridgestone dueller 684 tires. Tires have been balanced 3 times but vibration continues. Checked lateral runout on tires and found it to vary from .055 to .070" while radial runout was found to be ..060" to .065". These reading were from 3 tires manufactured in tokyo plant in week 44 of 2009. A 4th tire manufactured in a mexico plant had very low lateral and radial runouts. Tire identification data is as follows: bridgestone dueller ht 684 DOT emhbcek4409. (3 each) all tires still in use. *tr

2005 Honda cr-v. Rear differential. Manual states replace rd fluid every 90k, but dealer continues to claim must be done every 10k. Who to believe? Not sure of the consequences. My complaint to the dealer was front end noise on hard turns and that was their diagnosis. How could the fluid break down that soon? None of my previous vehicles ever had the problem. *tr

We bought the 2005 crv se in august 2005, noticed the pttr when we bought it. The dealership said they knew about it and were going to replace the tires. After 6 visits to the dealership(replacing tires, switching wheels, aligning, aligning, aligning, etc.)the problem still exists. I do not feel safe when driving this car because of the consistent pttr and awkward driving experience. Honda needs to step up and do something about the problem or they will soon loose there reputation for quality vehicles. *jb
