30,080 complaints across 1,769 vehicles in this category. "Body" in NHTSA terms covers structural complaints, frame issues, door problems, latching mechanisms, and quite a bit of weatherstripping and trim that you'd think wouldn't matter much except they do. Body complaints range from cosmetic stuff (paint defects, plastic trim cracking) to genuinely safety-relevant issues (frame rust on certain truck models, door latches that don't latch). The famous Toyota Tacoma frame rust recall is in here, the Ford Ranger frame issues, and a fair number of Jeep Wrangler door and roof complaints. Older trucks with documented frame rust patterns generally have body complaints leading their problem list. Newer luxury cars sometimes show up here for trim and electronic locking complaints that on paper sound minor but add up to real ownership headaches. Click through to the specific vehicle to see what's actually being reported on each.

While driving down the highway the top part of the front of the grill flew off bounced over top of my vehicle and landed on the ground in the highway where the car behind me then ran it over and it blew into the median. Two different things are happening with my car. 1) the paint is chipping and has caused corrosion on the body. Apparently this is a known issue but the peeling/chipping has gotten worse and will keep doing so until it is fixed. 2) car keep running hot and losing coolant but no leak to be found even after several rounds of tests.

In the morning of December 31, 2024, I got into my 2023 Honda HRV and as I turned on the ignition, I was shocked by the shattering sound of glass at the rear of the vehicle. To my horror, it was the rear windshield that had shattered to smithereens. I was terribly upset by this incident and while thinking of my next action, I learned through…

2021 Chrysler Pacifica · filed 12/31/2024

While driving the vehicle on a highway - a hard solid piece of the exterior literally separated from the vehicle and flew off. This incident gave rise to the risk of an accident or injury to those traveling behind or to others traveling on the highway. A flying projectile is an inherent safety risk. No external force or event caused this.…

While traveling on [XXX] eastbound in the St. Louis, MO area I heard a pop and noticed my passenger side A-frame trim body piece was free from the top mooring point.
