I have a 2005 Mazda 6 wagon bought new off the dealers lot. 4 years later, in sept. 2009 with 22k miles on it, I was coming off a curving exit ramp when I stepped on the gas to merge into traffic and nothing happened - no pickup - it was like I just started coasting. This happened a few times before in the previous years (maybe 4-5 times), but those times it felt more like a belt slipping and it "caught" again very quickly, like in a split second. The ramp experience was more pronounced and lasted longer, like a full 2 seconds, which was more scary and potentially more hazardous. Turned out the TCM (transmission computer module) had to be replaced. It would have cost $1400+ but luckily I bought an extended warranty when I bought the car so it covered that cost. It's happening again,

2005 Mazda 6s 3 liter v6 with automatic transmission (aisin warner). Application of throttle to accelerate in 5th or 6th gear causes jerk, selects neutral then eventually selects an appropriate gear. Very dangerous on uphill freeways due to sudden loss of any power. Mazda has a service bulletin on this # 05-016/06 that proves this condition is not isolated. *tr
The vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission. When the vehicle was parked for over 8 hours outdoors in direct sunlight, the vehicle would not shift out of park. Failure occurs only on extremely hot days - temperatures over 95 degrees and only when all the windows & sunroof were completely closed. Vehicle was allowed to sit with the engine running and air conditioner on high for roughly 15-20 minutes. When interior temperature of car lowered, the car was able to shift out of park. The problem replicated sporadically but on at least 10 different occasions over the course of 2 years. The vehicle was brought to dealership on numerous occasions where they were unable to replicate the problem. During one service visit a mechanic cleaned the microswitch responsible for the shift

Dt: the contact stated she noticed there was a bubble the size of an orange along the sidewall of the left front tire. She removed the tire and replaced it with the spare tire. Upon further investigation she discovered the right front tire had a bubble the size of an egg in the sidewall as well. She contacted the dealer, where the vehicle was purchased. The dealer suggested this was most likely due to a road hazard. She contacted a tire dealer, who also stated the problem was due to a road hazard. Both tires were replaced. *ak updated 3/9/2006 - *nm
I have primewell valera touring ii tires that have a date code of 0215 and they still have around 50% tread left. The side walls on all 4 tires are coming apart, they are split almost all the way around. These tires are on my daughters car and I did not notice this problem because the splits where on the outside of the tire but facing the inside, I found them when I went to install the snow tires. I called primewell and they said there is no recall for the serial number on these tires and they would not help me at all. There is a recall on this brand and model of tire for the same defect and reading many complaints about this same problem the recall needs to be updated to cover more serial numbers.

Incident 2005 Mazda 6 broke down along side road. Engine only had 40,000 miles on it. Called Mazda service manager, bob, and he told me to have it towed there and he'd take care of me. I was later told the engine blew but as his crew looked at it they verified that the engine and oil was clean. He said he'd call regional and see what he could do for me to get the engine repaired/replaced. Damage resulting after several weeks of run around I was finally told it was going to cost $90 for the service team to have looked at the engine. I was then informed that he could put a salvaged engine in for $4000. I about freaked out. $4000 for a used engine that came with a mere 90 day warranty. I called Mazda headquarters and was told I should've bought an extended warranty. I told her she w
I think the Mazda line of vehicles should be looked into. I have a 2005 Mazda 6 I sedan that from the very beginning had issues. At 5000 miles I complained to the NHTSA because the car shut off on me on the highway. I took it to the dealership and the dealership could not duplicate the problem. The problem with the car shutting off has happened a few other times over the years and I've always had it investigated however the dealership could never find an issue. Finally it is 2011 and the car has 96000 miles on it and is completely shut down. As it turns out despite getting every piece of maintenance done on time and in order by the manufacturer cylinder #2 and #3 misfire and ultimately need "rethreading?" . I wonder if this was a problem on the car to begin with. I have talked to a
