I have not heard back about the status of a prior complaint that I submitted and was written back once about. My complaint read as followed: 'the low beam headlamps permanently fail to illuminate. High beam headlamps are not affected. Gm refuses to include this VIN in it's recall of Buick lacrosse vehicles for this item but includes others of the same make and model. The replacement part available to the consumer only repairs this issue for a short time. Buick is requiring me to pay for the repair of something that has been recalled on other automobiles of the same make and model by taking it to a dealer where the new part is only available. The dealership is quite expensive compare to my regular auto repair place. I feel that the Buick company is acting inappropriately in only covering sp

My daughter borrowed my car.on the way back, at night, with two children in the car ,on the highway the lights go off. She pulls over and tries to get them on. Thank god her husband was following her in their car, who she followed ,so she could see. So I go to the auto parts store to buy bulbs to find out I don't have any lights in the front. So I go to the garage, they replace the bulbs for the daylights. Now high beams flicker and still no lights.they say I need a modular. I call Buick and they tell me my car is not under the recall. This is a bad safety issue and should not happen and should include all models.

Low beam headlights on both sides stopped functioning. High beams still work. Verified that bulbs and/or fuses were not the problem. Same issue as NHTSA recall 15v519000 gm recall 14291. Contacted gm who claimed my particular car was not included in recall. As mentioned in previous comments, that makes no sense. If its the same problem as other recalled cars had why isn't my car also recalled? In my opinion gm needs to recall all cars with this problem or supply a valid reason why some cars are excluded from the recall.

Driving at 45mph, smelled smoke from what appeared to be an electrical fire. Approximately 1/2 mile driving time, the engine and all power cut off. Got someone to help push the car off road when another person notice there was a fire coming from underneath the engine. Fire department was dispatched but engine was completely engulfed by the time they got there to put out the fire. Police and fire marshall determined fire came from electrical fuse box initially. At 12k miles the oil pressure light came on and continued to go on and off dependent of the RPM. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle with a cam shaft failure and due to that failure other subsequent damage occurred to the engine and it would need to be replaced. In addition, my steering shaft was also worn at 12k miles and needed to be replaced. And furthermore, I have had chronic issues with my gauge lights dimming and undimming intermittently. The dealer could not duplicate the failure and returned the car unfixed. Very unhappy with my purchase of a brand new car and will not buy gm every again. *tr
