After I filled the fuel tank in my Chevrolet trailblazer the fuel light came on and the fuel gauge read empty. Since then I have been resetting my trip meter when ever I fuel up,but my husband forgot to after filling up and ran out of fuel when he wasn't sure of how much gas the vehicle actually had. I contacted the local Chevrolet dealership after I found that the NHTSA had a defect investigation on my vehicle. The service department informed me that it would only be replaced if the vehicle was 120,000 miles or under and until august 2015.now I have 122,000 miles I'm responsible for replacing the defective part myself? The problem and danger of engine stall still exists due to low fuel levels no matter what the mileage is.the vehicle manufacture did not inform us that we had to dispose o
The bearings on the alternator are wearing and need to be replaced, the vehicle only has 29,000 miles and according to my mechanic they should not be worn this early and should be replaced as soon as possible; this is definitely a safety issue and a faulty part that I should not have to pay to have replaced. The fuel level indicator has stopped working over 2.5 years ago. I did receive a letter saying that the part may wear out prematurely and they are willing to pay 50% of the replacement but if it wears out prematurely then the part is faulty and I should not have to pay to replace the part. The backup light panel is bad, I tried to replace the bulb but the problem lies with the panel, faulty part again. *tr
I have a 2006 Chevrolet trailblazer ls. September 2009 is when it happened. The fuel sensor went out on my vehicle and now I have to get it repaired possibly to pass my fuel emissions inspection. I didn't have it repaired because that it was going to cost me like $400 to get it fixed. I don't have that kind of money to get it fixed but now I have to for it to pass inspection. *tr
Fuel gauge reads empty and/ or sends random levels after refueling. *tr
Fuel gauge does not work and vehicle is at times losing fuel pressure. *tr
About last january my gas gauge started acting up. I would fill my tank with gas and the gas gauge would read empty and the low fuel light would come on and the engine light came on. The gauge would bounce around and cause my low fuel light to go on and turn off. The audible advisor would ding at me 5 times everytime it hit empty. Now, today, my check engine light is on constantly and the gas gauge is stuck at empty and the low fuel light is on constantly. This started to occur at around 68,000miles and now I am at about 72,000. I have checked with a couple repair shops and they state that the fuel sensor is defective and it will cost me approximately $800 to repair. To date I have not had the problem repaired. I use my trip odometer and fill up around every 250 miles. *tr
The gas gauge on the vehicle has stopped working. I called gm and they state that there is no recall even though this a common problem on this vehicle line. Gm needs to do a full recall and not only offer to pay for half of the repairs to the vehicle for this issue. *tr
NHTSA action number: dp10001 fuel gauge not working properly. Gauge will show empty when vehicle is full; gauge will show full when the vehicle is empty. The gauge indicator started fluxing between full, empty and levels in between. Now it typically stays at empty all the time regardless of the amount of fuel. *tr

Last year I purchased a 2006 trailblazer ext and last week I filled up the tank only to have the fuel gauge peg on e for empty. After about three hours of driving did it finally go to full. I'm filing this because after pulling out code po463 with my tester and researching this fuel sensor failure on the web I found out that about 400 other trailblazer owners have the same defect. From the looks of it the cost is around $800-$1000.00 to repair. Why isn't this a safety defect already. My wife and child depend on this vehicle and I can,t have it run out of gas in the middle of a busy highway. (usaf retired). *tr
The gas gauge on my 2006 Chevrolet trailblazer began to show an empty tank when I filled up, after driving about 50 miles the gauge would properly show the amount of gas I had in the tank until the next fill up. The problem has gotten worse and I have read that other trailblazer owners are having the same problem. The defect seems to be common, expensive to repair, and should be the responsibility of Chevrolet. *tr

While driving down the road I smelled plastic burning then I saw some smoke.. I had to pull over and pulled the master window controls out of door to find it had caught fire and is now inoperable. I see there is a recall but I recently purchased the vehicle and would like to know how to have this situation taken care of. *tr

While traveling at night on a level two-lane highway that carries high traffic rates, the vehicle suddenly lost engine power, began to feel as though the brakes came on, the dashboard lights dimmed, and the traction control symbol started flashing. Vehicles behind me quickly braked to avoid a rear collision, as their headlight beams rapidly changed direction and dipped towards the pavement. Then about 6~8 seconds later the traction control light remained on full illumination, then went out, and the engine speed picked up. As I almost was in a surprise rear-end collision, I took the vehicle to the nearest, open Chevrolet dealer the earliest I could get it diagnosed. It turns out the steering sensor was defective and had to be replaced at a cost of $392.00. Surprise power loss and subse
