Recently while I was driving my cruise control completely stopped working. Two days after that I was slowing for a red light and I noticed that my car was revving up in gears as I was slowing down. I was barely able to get my car to stop and I shut it down to prevent accident. After the red light was over I started up my car and shifted into drive. That is when I noticed my car accelerating on its own. Without pressing my foot on the gas pedal my car was able to accelerate up to about 45 miles per hour. This car is unsafe and after some research I have found out that there were 14 issues like this reported and others that were not reported (for instance this happened to my sister's 2005 Ford taurus and she had to repair it out of her own pocket). I wanted to provide this report because for

I was driving approx 45 MPH and went to decelerate. I noticed the car not slowing down and the tac was at 1800 RPM. I hit the brakes harder and was ready to put the car in neutral but did not. I could hear the brakes working harder. The rpms still at 1800 as I turned into work. I heard a pop and the motor rpms dropped to just under 1000 rpms. On my way back home the cruise control seemed to work properly with the exception of no acceleration or holding speed. The cruise control would not engage. On 12/16/13, I looked at the throttle assy and noticed a cable had come unclipped. I reattached the cable and I tried the cruise control, it engaged. Anyone not familiar with an automobile would have had an accident with injury or worse. Please investigate this issue. Thank you. *tr

I was driving home on the highway when my accelerator became stuck halfway down. It would not stick if I tapped it, but re-stick again. I took it to the dealer they said that the cruise control cable had become bound around the accelerator causing it to stick. First incident was october 2007, now in december 2009 again. I was charged roughly 100 to detach the cruise control cabling. Ford agreed (reluctantly) to repair the cable so my cruise would work. Roughly 50,000 miles later my accelerator became stuck again. This time it would not unstick - tapping the pedal only made acceleration stronger. Brakes barely worked stomped to the floor. Repeated accelerator pedal sticking in open position is extremely dangerous and unacceptable. Car is out of warranty and I am again stuck with t

Excessive acceleration when in motion with high rpms when in park on multiple occasions over 6 months, in the shop 3 times w/o resolution. Ford motor company was notified. The car will maintain 80mph without touching the accelerator, is difficult to stop, and will accelerate to greater than 50 MPH from stop without touching accelerator pedal. It's a death trap. I can donate car to you if you want it.

When there is a heavy rain. Water builds up on the floor boards of the front passenger side of the vehicle. Researching this online I notice that there are many others with similar problems which leads me to believe that this sis a defect rather than a one time thing. The cause of the leak seems to be in the engineering of the in-cabin filter and crowl. *tr

I have a 2006 Ford taurus. I used to live in texas and moved to buffalo area this summer. This morning when I drove my car out of the parking lot and onto the street road, the driver door suddenly opened by itself. Then I was trying to close the door while I was trying but all failed. Then I had to pull my car in the nearby parking space and stopped the car. Eventually after trying quite a few times, I could close the door. This morning was pretty cold and below freezing temperature. After this incident, I checked with some of my colleagues and friends. Quite a few people who drive Ford taurus have experienced exactly the same issue with the driver door before. Further I did some research on internet and found many complaints on the door closing issue of Ford taurus during cold winter.

Ford motor company sold my vehicle with a life-threatening design defect in the braking system. This design defect comprises a plastic cover over the stainless steel hydraulic brake lines where those lines pass from the front of the car to its rear beneath the driver side door. The ostensible purpose of the plastic cover is unknown to me, but its actual function is twofold. First, it traps moisture and road salt to cause rapid corrosion of the stainless steel brake lines, which corrosion eventually causes the lines to rust completely through, causing one or both lines to burst upon application of the brakes, resulting in sudden and complete brake failure. Second, the plastic cover hides that corrosion from view so that careful visual inspection does not reveal the corrosion problem. Accord
