The engine block cracked (according to dealer) exactly like as described in service bulletin 10-048 which they extended the warranty for, but which a bunch of us owners are outside of now. So my car is garbage unless I spend 2-7k fixing a manufacturing defect that should have been recalled. I started overheating as I was driving home as and limped home trying to not let the engine get too hot (didn't work).

The contact pulled over and turned off the vehicle, but it failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and then towed to mel rapton Honda (3630 fulton ave, sacramento, ca 95821, (916) 436-8364). The dealer diagnosed that the engine block failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. I was driving through rural virginia when the temperature gauge quickly jumped to the hottest setting. I immediately pulled my car over. I was informed by a mechanic that my 2006 civic with 87,000 miles has a cracked engine block. The car was towed to the dealer. I plan to have a new engine block installed. *tr
I own a 2006 Honda civic. While driving I noticed the a/c was not throwing cool air. I took the car to the dealer in brandon fl. The dealer stated that the condenser to the a/c was damaged due to a road hazard, something striking it through the grill. My car was still under warranty. I was told this was not covered under warranty. The repair bill that I paid was over $400.00. My concern was addressed to a district manager, he stated that due to a road hazard Honda would not pay. I believe that a poor design feature by the manufacturer should not cost me. *tr
We bought a 2006 Honda civic in 2013, only to have the dealership not disclose the warranty extension put out on the car in 2010. We would have never bought that car, and bought another. Terribly dangerous the have an engine block crack. The block did crack in december 2019. American Honda will do nothing. Passed the warranty extension.. This should have been a safety recall. The car with only 129,000 is garbage and we are out money. We will never buy Honda again. We've bought at least 10 in our 27 year marriage. The cracking could have exploded the engine!

Takata recall - first received notice of this recall in may of 2016. It is now coming up on january of 2017 (seven months latter) and I have not had any further communication about getting this defect corrected. When can I expect this to happen?
Takata recall on august 19, 2016, we took our Honda to the dealer to have the airbag inflator replaced under the recall. Our dealer ran into a problem with a mounting bolt (apparently a bolt was cross-threaded and twisted off). A call to Honda america confirmed the entire air bag would then have to be replaced. Our dealer ordered the part that day. And has of this writing not yet received the air bag from Honda america. Our dealer gave us a loaner car for two months, but then took it back and gave us our car back, without a front passenger-side airbag, on october 31, with instructions to not put a passenger in the front seat. (in order to get my car back, I had to sign a statement on the work order saying I had refused a repair, but I was not offered a repair to refuse. I had to
I was the driver of a 2006 Honda civic and was struck in the drivers side door and received a head injury requiring six staples. No airbags ever deployed. *tr

Sun visors in 2006 Honda civic are melting and cracking causing the visors to hang down and will not go up into proper position. This cause visibility problems while driving. *tr
Both visors split open and will not stay up. I cannot use them to block the sun and have to duck under them to view the road. This is a major safety issue! *tr

I event recall on Honda odyssey seats that would not stay latched... Exactly what was happening with our civic coupe. Rarely did we move the passenger seat but when we did it would frequently not lock in place after awhile without a very jerry movement with weight in the seat... We'd forget to check and come to a stop sign and I'd slide forward or accelerate on the freeway and I'd slide back, just an inch or so, but I was afraid of what might happen in an accident. No one believed us /saw anything wrong with the seat. Point is reading the release today - - there could be more Honda vehicles affected. We have sold the car so I can't provide any more info. Date below is an estimate.
Having same issue it seems is widely common from my research where the right motor mount fails and needs to be replaced due to excessive knocking of the motor. We've noticed it for a while now, but it's just getting worse and worse at low idle to low speed, but once RPM is over 1k it is fine and straightens out.

The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 101,000.

I own a 2006 Honda civic and last fall my ac stopped working. I took it to the dealer from which I purchased the vehicle and was told a pebble had gone through the open grill and damaged the condenser. They showed me the damage which is almost not noticeable. Very light and certainly shouldn't be enough to cause the ac to stop working. This is poor design. There are numerous complaints on various websites about this problem. And, it seems, it is not confined to just the civic but with several Honda vehicles. The dealer refused to cover under warranty and told me to go to my insurance company. Hogwash. I'm not going to pay a high deductible or the $700 repair bill. I am going to fight Honda on this one, and I hope other Honda owners will step up to the plate. *nm

2006 Honda civic harbors mice in air ducts/heater fan/cabin air filter assy. Honda refuses to put screen on input to outside air inlet. Mice infested car. I have allergys that cause me to sneeze and have asthma attacks. I believe these attacks lead to dangers while driving. Honda says 'mice stuff' is hazardous material but refuses to correct the problem. My dealer 'vacuumed up 'mice stuff'. However according to government guidlines vacuuming 'mice stuff' can cause more harm than good. Should be disinfected.
