"takata recall" I received the first recall notice july 2016. I just received a second notice dated december 2017. Under the heading what should you do? On this second notice, says "do not allow anyone to sit in the first row passenger seat. The air bag inflator could rupture during deployment in a crash and cause injuries or death." I often have to drive with five people in the vehicle. Not allowing anyone to sit in the first row passenger seat is not an option and I cannot afford to purchase different vehicle. This notice also says that remedy parts have been delayed. As long as it is taking Ford to remedy this situation, why are they not required to furnish loner vehicles.
Takata inflators, Ford recall 16s26. I have not been able to get this recall taken care of. The dealer, and Ford tell me different stories. Ford promised a paid for rental if you are uncomfortable driving, the deal said no to a rental or a loaner. I have been on a "waiting list" for parts for almost a year, and they still do not have the parts. I receive no communication from the dealer except if I call to check. Sometimes I am told I am not on the list, other times, there are no parts, all times no rental coverage or loaners available. I luckily have not had an accident, but I am so frustrated with the dealer and Ford I am ready to get rid of the car and get a different brand. They do not seem to care about safety or communication. It is terrifying to get a recall from Ford sayin

Takata recall Ford has sent a letter that they are developing "remedy" parts but they are not expected until spring 2018 and until then no one should ride in the front passenger seat. It is unacceptable that over 18 mos later there is still no replacement for my vehicle other than to not use the passenger seat. Is the NHTSA aware of these delays? In the meantime, I am sure you are aware that takata has filed bankruptcy and their notification of this states I should get my airbags replaced asap. Well I would if they were available.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Ford edge. While driving approximately 15 MPH, the vehicle shook violently and stalled. The check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 73,941. The VIN was not available.
My car started sputtering on freeway on christmas night. Smelled burning. Had it towed to my mechanic. He informed me ignition coils burned out. He replaced them but called today and informed me, car will run fine and then one or more coils will burn out again causing the problem. He looked complaints up online and found hundreds of them as I have also. We called the dealership to see if there was a recall on this issue because there were so many complaints but nothing. (I found out I had 2 other recalls I never got a notice for.. Great)... Reading the complaints below from customers who has had the exact problem is worrisome because the dealership is aware of the issue but still has done nothing to fix this. My car is still in the shop. If this can only be fixed at the dealership as descr
Driving at highway speed in a 2007 Ford edge with 130k miles. Engine starts to lose power suddenly at speed, but still runs. The check engine light blinks, odor of plastic melting. Manage to limp off the highway with a vibrating noises coming from the engine. Mechanic reports that 3 of the 6 coils are 'melted'. One is very badly melted. The PCM is also fried and needs to be replaced. Repair bill is going to be over $2500 for what seems to be a failed ignition coil. *tr
I was driving my car on the road and the engine stalled with no warning and the car cut off. After waiting about 10 minutes, the car started and I was able to move it to the side of the road. The check engine light didn't come on until after the car initially cut off. I tried to start the car again about 20 minutes later and it wouldn't start at all. Finally, after a couple of hours the car started, but the check engine light was still on.

At 60,000 miles transmission slipping. At 92,000 miles not engaging between 3rd and 4th gear. Cost to fix $3,000. At 65,000, water leaking front of on passenger side, spraying at times. Also fluild leaking on ground. Ford fixed. At 62,000 miles, heater went out. At 86,000 a/c went out. Cost to repair $2,800. At 84,000 miles ring broke on "boot". Cost to repair $350. At 91,000 miles ignition switch replaced. Ckeck engine stays on. Vehicle "clicks" and then dies. Biggest problem is when car will not start when, and when car refuses to get in gear when turning left. *js
Vehicle in motion on city road when vehicle all of a sudden makes loud/hard clank noise and immediately loses power - almost like it started towing a trailer! Loss of power, wrench light, tps light, airbag light all come on, speedometer stops working. Pulled over, loud/hard clank sound with every gear change p-2. Vehicle had displayed no issues prior to this. Dropped vehicle off at mechanic, when he looked at it next morning, vehicle is running perfect. I am greatly concerned about what appears to be a huge safety issue with this car. There are multiple complaints about the same issue to be found all over the internet with no fixes known. Ford needs to issue a recall and fix this asap before someone gets seriously hurt or is killed from the extreme loss of power the vehicle is suffering fr
Takata recall. It's been almost 2 years that we have been trying to get the airbag parts and no replacement. This is our only vehicle and it is a great inconvenience. We need a loaner car until the parts are available.

Taillight was inoperative, passenger side, along with directional signal. Thinking it was a burned out bulb, I removed the tail light connector from the plastic housing. I noticed that the bulb had totally fuzed itself to the connector. While the bulb filaments appear intact, the bulb and connector had generated enough heat to essentially melt the base of the bulb to the connector into one unit. Oddly enough, when looking for the cause of why so much heat would be generated, I googled "car tail light connector and bulb melted". Surprise surprise, I was directed to the Ford edge forum where this seems to be a very common complaint. Naturally, I needed to get this fixed quickly and my husband was going to the salvage yard for unrelated parts, so I asked him to see if he could find a co
