My 2007 Toyota sequoia airbag light came on this morning. Called both corporate and local dealership and both advised me to drive vehicle for inspections assuming all risk. *tr

11/02/2011, plastic rear hatch outside door handle broke. I am unable to open the hatch. Dealer said it may take up to 2 hrs. To fix @ $105.00/hr. Plus parts. Advised dealer of others who have had same problem & was advised there is not a recall. I emailed complaint to Toyota, but to date, have not received reply. *tr

While driving 35 MPH in a residential area with my foot on the gas, all of the sudden the engine revved up from under 2 RPM to almost 5 RPM. I pressed the gas to see if I could free up the pedal and the brake. Nothing worked, finally after a couple of seconds the car began loosing acceleration and I pulled over. Floor mat was not under the accelerator, something else made it rev up. We are bringing in the car monday for inspection. I could not reproduce the problem since. *ln
Vsc activates frequently on low speed, 90 deg turns, under completely dry driving conditions, causing a brief (several seconds) loss of power to wheels. Seems to primarily occur on right turns. This occurs every time on certain turns, which leads me to believe that it may have something to do with vehicle orientation and/or intersection geometry.
Frame is completely rusted. Almost the body is about to detach from the frame. A very safety issue. This vehicle was never taken to Toyota for rusted frame at the time of the recall. Toyota must resolve this issue because it's safety matter as the frame can separate from the body at any time.
suspension 2 complaints shown
car is not recalled yet the same model year is recalled from 2007, this problem effects my car as well as cars made earlier in the year. The suspension is unstable and joints are worn in many places ball joints and other steering effecting joints. The car makes sudden side movements like the wheel is about to fall off or the tire fell off the time but the tires are properly inflated. Repair estimated are atleast $600 possibly $1200 as it is worn in 2 places The problem is on the passenger side front. The car has 114000 miles. There is no recall on this car but other Sequoias made the same year are recalled This is pretty obvious the problem was in the design and not the date of manufacture.
Lower ball joints on both sides came loose and Toyota will not replace them under the previous recall for same make model year vehicle with same problem for only at 90 k miles

With the car engine on clean smoke started to come from the drivers seat heating switch area, the smoke dissipated after about 30 seconds when I turned the engine off. There have not been any malfunctions since then.
engine 1 complaint shown
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Toyota sequoia. The contact stated that while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle stalled with the check engine warning light flashing on the instrument panel. Due to the failure, excessive force was needed to steer the vehicle to the side of the road as the steering also failed to operate due to the failure. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed with a defective spring valve. Neither the manufacturer nor the dealer were notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 118,000.
cruise control 1 complaint shown
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Toyota sequoia. While approaching a stop light the vehicle lurched forward. Also while idling the vehicle would roll forward. A master technician was then sent by Toyota , but he could not identify the cause of the failure. The current and failure mileages were under 24,000. The VIN was not available.
brakes 1 complaint shown
Began acceleration from 35 MPH progressing to 55 MPH, accelerator left my foot, engine sped up to over 5,000 RPM, applied both feet to brake pedal with all my weight, engine continued to race above 5,000 RPM, put car into drive 1 with no change, engine raced, put car into neutral and engine continued racing over 5,000 RPM, was able to steer car into a ditch, turned off ignition. The check engine light was blinking during this event. I was never able to stop with my brakes. I maintained both feet on the brake pedal during the event with my entire body weight on the pedal and the car never, ever stopped racing.
