Takata recall: after receiving the recall notice in may 2016, I contacted Audi in september 2016 to find out the progress on resolving the airbag issue. They indicated that they had no solution and no timeframe for a solution. As of december 10, 2016, that still appears to be the case. I am concerned because the vehicle is 8 years old and we live near the coast in florida. As I understand it, the recall priority is based partly on vehicle age and humidity in the area where the vehicle is used. I am trying to get some idea as to when this will be resolved. Thank you for your assistance in this matter. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Takata recall, NHTSA: 17v032, I received a letter from Audi in march 2017 informing me of the recall. I contacted my local Audi dealer every month since trying to schedule the takata airbag repair. After over six months Audi is still not able to schedule or complete the repair. This is unacceptable since it is such an important safety concern. There does not seem to be any way to move forward and Audi does not provide any information about when the repair will be available. I believe this is taking much too long to complete. Any help in the matter would be appreciated. Thank you. Best, [xxx] 'information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Takata recall: recall has been in effect since may 27, 2016 and no further updates have been provided by manufacturer, replacement/loaner and compensation requests have been denied, and no date has been provided for repairs. Manufacturer has advised to drive without a passenger "when possible" but I have no idea whether doing so is safe or if I'd be putting the vehicle occupants in significant danger. Manufacturer has been unhelpful and refuses to provide any additional information beyond contents of initial recall notice letter.

The wiring harness of both left and right headlight - the electrical wires within the plastic headlight housing going directly to the bulbs are losing their protective wire insulation. The insulation has become excessively brittle and is cracking throughout the entire wire length and in some areas wire insulation has fallen off the wire exposing bare wires. This can only be found when trying to change the light bulb since to access the defect area, the light bulb housing protective cover hiding the defect must be removed. The exposed bare wires cause a fire hazard in the engine compartment. In my car, I have found that while changing the light bulb and maneuvering the harness to have access to the bulb, this has excessively caused the brittle wire insulation to fall off exposing all the he
