Camshaft adjuster solenoid leaked oil into wiring harness, caused vehicle to go into limp mode and not accelerate/shift gears. This is a known problem with the m272 engine, this vin did not show up on the recall list.
Electronic ignition switch and steering lock rendered us completely stranded in our car. Could not even put it in neutral without using the manual override. After researching in the internet it seems this is somewhat common in this vehicle, and unfortunately is costing me $1350!! Only the dealership can do this. I had my car towed to my local mechanic only to have it towed again to Mercedes dealership. *tr
Right read brake lamp harness melted causing malfunction of the brake lamps. Warning indicator in the dash. I am worried about a fire. Also low beam headlamps stopped working for no reason. Checked the bulbs and they are both good. *tr
Rear taillights started smoking. It was all burned out causing rear right taillight to malfunction. *tr
My 2008 c300 with only 68,000 decided to die with no warning. I drove the car to the dealership had a taillight fixed then parked the car. The next day the car wouldn't turn on. All the lighting in the dash turns on but I'm getting a notification saying remove key from ignition. This shouldn't be happening! I have done some research online and am getting an idea that is is the eis. This system is designed to be operated multiple times a day, it shouldn't be failing.
I have a mb c300 2008 the car never had an issue until I brought it in for a airbag recall 2 weeks later I get an SRS malfunction, esp and ABS failure car doesnt turn on next day the car turns on and engine light goes on, then lights stayed on even after car was off next day lights went off while driving in dark making for hazardous and quite scary situation mb is doing these recalls but jeopardizing the overall integrity of car I even replaced battery but this still occurred car was rendered undrivable and stuck in my driveway and had to have it towed and pay $380 just to look at it even though I told them they caused damage there is no way a perfectly running car coincidentally has major electrical issues post recall (they replaced entire stash board and steering wheel
11/28 : I drive my 08c350 to 7/11 store close to my house to pick up some for the trip the next day. The car would not start (radio, power window...are working). I call fletcher jones Mercedes benz, they advise me to use the spare key, I walk home to get the spare key, same thing. The car was towed to fetcher jones for repair, the repair cost me $1064.78. One month earlier, it cost me almost $1800,00 to fix the camshaft sensors and the intake manifold sensor. All of theses 3 problems are well known for the c class w204 (from 2008 to 2011), but Mercedes benz never accept the bad design or fault. Whether NHTSA can do something to force the company accept the faulty design to help out the car's owner ?. Thanks. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 Mercedes benz c350. The contact stated that the rear taillight failure warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the passenger's side tail light assembly needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000 and the current mileage was 73,000.
Right rear lights went out on car, started smelling melting plastic. Stopped and checked the plug that went into the lights has melted. *tr
The passenger tail lamp bulb carrier, ground wire, and connecting plastic harness all melted causing my tail lamps to appear dim and eventually melted to the point the passenger brake lights, rear running lamps, rear passenger turn signal and rear fog lamp all completely quit functioning. I contacted my local Mercedes benz dealer and they would not fix the problem under warranty or good will even knowing it to be a common problem. I purchased the parts that they claimed have been updated (although they appear to be exactly the same) and had them replaced. Time will tell whether or not this is a permanent fix to the problem. *tr
My right rear tail lamp was malfunctioning. The directional was blinking rapidly. The malfunction required the removal and replacement of the right rear bulb carrier. The car was no longer on warranty and I had to pay for the repair out of pocket. I understand that tail light failure is a common problem with this model and year, usually caused by wiring defect. The dealer never informed me that this was a common occurrence in this model. I had similar problems prior to the malfunction however they were covered under warranty. *tr

Takata recall: I went to Mercedes in paramus, nj to complete the recall on the airbags to my vehicle.. The service rep stated that because I have an SRS light on in my vehicle that I would need to pay $160.00 (discounted from the $299.00) in order to find out what was wrong with the vehicle, then correct that situation (out of my pocket) before they can complete the recall... The funny part is that the SRS light is for the supplemental restraint system which are my air bags!!! I have had the SRS light on my vehicle since I bought he car which has been 9 years! Of coarse Mercedes is trying to charge me something because they figure 'why spend so many hours of free labor on a vehicle that is 10 years old' I actually expected this outcome! Nothing is ever free with Mercedes.... I am not givin
I have been calling the dealerships in my area for the past two years if not longer and still they don't know when. My car is nearly 10 years old now, when is Mercedes going to fix it when I am dead?
We have been waiting since the start of the NHTSA recall of Mercedes-benz c300s for faulty airbags for the appropriate replacement. I believe this has been about two years since we received our first notice. Last week we received a notice from our dealership that the part was in and that we should schedule our free repair. However, today, when my husband brought the car in for service he was told that the part was not available. This has been going on for some time and the purpose of this email is to inform NHTSA that mbusa and mb of miami are continuing to fulfill their obligations under federal auto safety laws. We are both disgusted by the length of time this process has taken and we want something to be done to ensure that our car's airbag system is properly repaired.
Why didn't the dealer tell me this when I purchased the car? According to www.airbagrecall.com, it was 2 recalls on the air bags last year 2016, so they knew it was a recall. I could of had and accident and been hurt real bad. I am very upset with the Mercedes dealer and prestiage auto in rhode island. I will be taking further actions about this problem. I just found out about the airbags on december 23, 2017.

Unable to start vehicle. Key turns but no crank. Service tech was able to release / unlock the steering wheel by violently shaking the steering wheel from left to right as if he was trying to break it. Something did release and he was then able to start the vehicle. Brought the car directly to dealership and I was quoted $1018 for the steering wheel lock. Looks like this is a well documented issue and it's an ongoing issue w/ Mercedes. *tr
Car will not start, failure in the electrical steering system
The steering wheel electronic lock, shut down my car. I drove to the doctors office and it stop working. It would not start. I found out that there are 1000 of complaints from other people who had the same problem.. But since there isn't a recall we would be subjected to paying out of our pocket. About $950.
