I have noticed a bad noise like a knock at the muffler area six weeks after the vehicle was acquire. This noise can be heard shortly after the engine is turned on. I reported the problem at the Mitsubishi dealer service, but the replied back that this sound is a normal condition of the vehicle. *tr
I received a safety recall notice regarding my 2008 Mitsubishi outlander regarding the drive belt and pulley system. I made an appointment with my dealership, jerry's Mitsubishi, in parkville md 21234 and then they cancelled the appointment stating they do not have the parts and have no date when they are to arrive. I tried calling Mitsubishi customer relations 888-648-7820 and their automated system doesn't allow nor can I ever speak to a customer service representative. I have also tried to contact NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236 and again have no way of speaking with a representative. So it looks like the only avenue of approach is to submit this complaint which is not only for the recall but to complain about the inability to contact anyone live to complain about the dealership. I sincerely

Mitsubishi outlander '08, paddle shifters are a poorly designed device for shifting gears on an automatic transmission, they are attached to the steering wheel beside the right and left turn signals and the windshield wipers. When you use the normal above two items your fingers automatically involuntarily shift the car into for instance, low gear!!! Horribly dangerous device, poor engineering design, trying to "soup up" a cheap, poorly designed vehicle. The car needs to be recalled immediately! *tr
We have a 2008 Mitsubishi outlander that we purchased in 2010. I was following my wife down the road and noticed that when she applied the brakes the brake lights sometimes did not come on. This is a huge safety problem. When we got home I tested it and found that about 20% of the time no brake lights would illuminate. I did some research online to see how difficult it would be to fix and discovered this is a very common problem with several recalls associated with it. It also effects the shift interlock which prevents shifting the car out of park even when the brake pedal is depressed. My wife confirmed she has had this problem too. We have owned the car since 2010 and have never received a recall notice. I called our local Mitsubishi dealer to find out if this was part of a recall. They
July 3, at approximately 10:30 pm we came home and parked the car in the driveway which is at a slight incline. I got out of the vehicle to unload items from the back, and as I came around on the passenger side the car made a loud pop sound and the car began to roll backwards and was making an audible clicking noise. In an instant I was worried that the vehicle was going to run over one of my kids who were outside as I unloaded the vehicle so I managed to climb in and as I reached over to turn off the ignition, the car bumped over where the driveway and street meet knocking me off balance. As I fell from the car, my right leg got jammed in the passenger door, my head whacked the bottom frame of the door, and right before the car rolled to a stop, the front passenger tire started to run ov
After turning the car on, it will get stuck in park and is a struggle to switch the gears from park to drive. This has been a problem. *tr

While braking, the driver side brake light is only working when the headlights are not turned on. I read up on Mitsubishi recalling brake lights on outlanders and when I look up my VIN for a recall there is not one on there for that. This is an extreme issue. Last year we had it looked at, the whole light assembly replaced, the fuse replaced and yet nothing worked.
Low beam headlamps have been going completely out. This happened when in motion on a highway . It is difficult to navigate and be seen when this happened. I have taken the vehicle to a Mitsubishi dealer for repair but the problem has recurred 4 times. I have been told a relay was burnt out three times and had been replaced. Another time I was told there was an internal short. Usually the repair only lasts 3-4 weeks and then the lights go out again. This last time was only 2.5 weeks since it was last repaired. This has been incredibly frustrating and not to mention dangerous. This has occurred 8/29/18, 8/10/18, 7/11/18, 6/~13/18.

Rusted suspension crossbody unsafe to drive. The brakes and calibers seem to always seize as well making this vehicle a death trap no matter how many times I get it fixed.
There's a recall on the front cross member/sub-frame,which is in good condition, but not the back one. Which mine just actually ripped! It started driving odd, like the back end doesn't stay behind it. Would kind of shudder at takeoff, and sounds awful! Especially noticeable going slowly on a dirt driveway with bumps.even with brand new suspension,tires,cv-shafts,bearings,everything.it still did it.then yesterday it started really banging and thumping underneath.it was hard to figure out because it would happen at different times.sometimes corners, sometimes going straight, especially when the body would twist. So I stopped and checked. I noticed the vehicle was dropped at least an inch on one side. It has brand new struts in it, so I looked closer. On the drivers side rear, where the lateral
