Driving 2009 Ford f-50 super duty fx4 on insterstate at 65 MPH, as I exited to another interstate I experienced a violent wobble in the front end which only stopped when I brought the pickup truck to a complete stop. I took the truck to the dealer I purchased the vehicle from and they gave me a shopping list of $3300. This included windshield wipers. They also did not know what caused this problem. Ford customer service said they did not know of this problem and could not help. Looking into this on google, I found hundreds of similar problems commonly called "death wobble" on the internet. This violent shaking has occurred once more two weeks later. I am parking the vehicle until I decide what I need to do. I am afraid for my family's safety and other motorists. *js

While driving on a highway at 65-70 miles per hour, if your front tires hit a small bump, especially on curves, the pickup front end wil go into an uncontollable wobble and you must immediately hit your brakes to get it to come to an almost dead stop before it will quit. You can end up in the other lane or cause the person following you to rearend you or end up in the ditch. So far, we have been lucky when this has happened as we live in a farming area and not heavily populated but are afraid to haul cattle to sale with this pickup which is what we need it for. This started around at around 88,000 miles on speedometer. We have reseached this and talled to others and found it is called the "death wobble".
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 Ford f250. The contact stated that while driving at 35 MPH the steering gear box failed. The vehicle would not stay in a straight path and it would swerve all over the lane. The dealer was notified who stated there was no recall and the parts were on national back order. The manufacturer was notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 40,000.....updated 12/11/12 *bf updated 12/12/12
My truck going highway speeds has had numerous issues with death wobble. If you don't know what that is it's where the truck starts shaking violently and the only way to control it is to cone to a complete stop which in the middle of the highway is very dangerous. This has happened many times with me and my family in the truck.
Death Wobble. Hit a dip in the road steering wheel and whole truck Shakes out of control until you slow WAY down or stop.
I was making a left turn out of a parking lot and heard a clunk from the front of the truck. At the end of the block after the light turned green, I tried to make a left turn and it was really hard to turn the steering wheel. The truck made the left turned but not very sharp. Upon driving up the street I tried to shift to the left lane and the truck would not respond well. Upon pulling over the truck would not fully turn to the left but would turn to the right okay. The steering wheel would only turn a quarter of a turn. My concern is if I had to make a sharp left turn with the road I would not be able to do this. The vehicle has ~61k miles. If I was driving at a high rate of speed I would not have been able to go around a left corner. I could understand the steering gear box goi
I'm a life time Ford truck owner and have never been so disappointed in my life and ready to purchase from a competitor. The title "death wobble" is very true and Ford really needs to pay attention because it will cost someone their life. If I wasn't 65 years old and an experienced driver the multiple times I've experienced this could have killed me. I have replaced everything involving the suspension, tires, struts, rods, having multiple alignments, etc.. And nothing has fixed this mess. Ford needs to fix this. I'm willing to be part of a class action lawsuit against them for the lemons/death traps they're producing & selling. Ford is aware of this problem and refuses to do anything about it. They switched from leaf springs to this horrible design starting with 2008 models to present.

Leaking radiator hoses causing loss of coolant from engine. Leak is a hazard to environment and wildlife that may come in contact with ethylene glycol. Dealer indicates a design issue exists with radiator hose o-rings and Ford has redesigned the hoses to use double o-rings vs. The current single o-ring. *tr
2009 Ford super duty: this vehicle completely shut down engine on (3) different occasions while I was driving it. No steering, brakes or control of vehicle was completely lost. I have taken it to Ford dealer on every occasion and they said they cannot duplicate the problem. Dangerous. We installed a flight data recorder on the vehicle today to monitor and record this so when it happens again Ford cannot deny the facts nd evade the responsibility. *tr
While driving down the highway, the truck shut off and wouldn't come back on. Had to drift into a parking lot to have it towed home. After months and several mechanics later, changing out different fuel parts, engine components, batteries, etc. We found out it was the high pressure fuel injection pump. The pump "exploded" for lack of better word, inside and sent metal shavings throughout the fuel rail and engine itself. We spent 12,000 to put a used motor and all new fuel components. It took us a year to save up because we had to make a payment on a vehicle that couldn't be used.

The rear passenger side tire pressure, which was also the spare tire, was low. The contact added air but continued to notice the same problem. The contact read the owner's manual and it stated that the light would turn off when air was added. The contact stated that the light continued to illuminate. suspension 1 complaint shown
Was driving on the highway when my truck started shaking violently, had to pull over and check what was wrong, but no did not see anything wrong. Took it to the Ford dealership near me. Was told the tires were my problem had them replaced but the shaking continues. Ford does not have an explanation for me. What are my options?
fuel system 1 complaint shown
While driving with fuel level between 1/8 and 1/4 tank, truck shut down completely. The "50 miles to empty" indicator had illuminated approx. 2 miles before failure. Had truck towed to dealer and was forced to pay approx. $250 for diagnostic and tow. Dealer coordinated with Ford corporate and determined I drove truck until fuel was empty. Approx. 4 weeks later, truck shut down again. Dealer explained I would have to "place a bet" that the fuel indicator sensor was "out of tolerance." they would have to remove fuel tank and check sensor. Per tech, if sensor was within tolerance, I would have to pay the entire bill. I told them to go ahead and perform the check. Sensor was in fact out of tolerance and was indicating more fuel than was actually in the tank. Sensor was replaced and t
seatbelts 1 complaint shown
The Ford f250 was turning left on a two way undivided highway. It was struck in the driver's side by a passing semi-truck/trailer. The collision was just behind the driver's seat and back toward the box of the pick-up. It spun the pick-up into the ditch where it rolled once. The front seat passenger was ejected and found lying on the ground by the driver's side of the vehicle with the legs and feet propped up against the vehicle. The driver sustained broken ribs and punctured lung but did not require surgery for sustained injuries. The seat belt showed burn consistent with being loaded with a force and the buckle appeared to have been bent slightly. Examination of the receiver portion showed the outside housing had split and the buckle would not remain in or fasten in at all. It a
