I was currently in an accident. I was driving my 2009 Honda civic 2 door coupe. The accident accrued due to wet road conditions, which caused me to lose control and 360 on a highway and slam into an embankment and roll over 4 times. As I was injured thank god it was not life threatening, as it could of been. I was surprised after the accident that none of my air bags deployed. I do understand that there are sensors on the cars but every angle of the car had some type of impact, so, why only two air bags deployed on the passenger side front and back window when there was no one in the passenger seat. I was the only one in the car and of course I was the driver in the driver seat. My concern that someone in the future will not be as lucky as me and get seriously hurt due to a defect with t

While trying to pull into an isle of a parking lot for the purpose of finding a parking space, the engine suddenly accelerated on its own and out of control spinning around, jumping a curb and crashing into a tree, and four other automobiles parked on the parking lot causing property damage to five automobiles including my automobile. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 Honda civic. The contact stated that the vehicle leaked water and caused the engine to overheat without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the failure was not covered under a recall. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
Stopped at an stop light in town when vehicle RPM suddenly went to 5900 RPM and vehicle attempted to accelerate. Had foot on brake and was able to stop. Put vehicle in park but RPM stayed around 5900-6000. Turned off ignition and restarted. Vehicle drove normally. Took vehicle to dealer who could not find a problem. There are over 50 cases of this same behavior reported online, in all cases the dealer could not find a problem. *tr
2009 Honda civic 4 door sedan, bought brand new ? Within the first 30,000 miles, the car began to have intermittent problems with starting in lower temperature weather (50 and below). Car engine will crank and fail to turn over if left in colder temperature for more than 12 hours, I have installed a new battery and the problem has persisted. Brought the car into the dealer and the starter, alternator, fuel pump, battery, everything was ?fine.? Problem continues to this day and Honda has never been able to answer why. *tr
brakes 2 complaints shown
A rubbing, grinding, metal on metal noise from the front brakes after a little over 19, 916 miles. I had the dealership perform an inspection of the brake system and was told that it was not under warranty. The pads have worn down to the point where metal-to-metal contact is occurring, my vehicle may not be able to stop safely, and damage may occur where the brake rotors or drums need to be replaced.
Factory brakes are defective, wearing out the rotor with only 36,000 miles on the car. *tr

Honda is calling in hch owners for a software update to "preserve the battery." the result of this software update essentially shuts the ima battery down frequently, leaving the car to run on just the motor which was intended to run with the ima. Aside from the "switch and bate" issues (mileage dropped below a standard civic), the safety issue involved is a frequent lack of acceleration capability, especially on an incline or merging into traffic.
Twice now our 2009 Honda civic lx has failed to start when we turn the key. The battery light comes on as if the battery is dead. Both times, I tapped the gas and the car started with no problems. Also both occurrences happened when our weather was very cold. This is our first winter with this new car and it would be really horrible if this were to be an on-going issue. We have an appointment to take it to the dealership under warranty to check the battery but like the above complaints, I have a feeling they will find nothing wrong. The car runs fine once it finally starts. My husband stated that tapping the gas on a fuel injection car is not good but it seems like this is the only way to start the car. We have had this car maybe 6 months and we don't drive constantly. I drive to

I was driving down the road at approximately 35 miles per hour in town when the driver side sun visor fell in my view. It would not stay up. It split into two pieces that would not go back together. I went to the Honda dealership to get 2 new rear tires because the car keeps eating up the rear tires for some strange reason. I asked the dealership about this visor and a possible recall at that time in november. The dealership told me my VIN number was not included in the recall and they couldn't repair my defective visor for free. The dealership told me my right front seal was bad, front brakes were bad, and my right rear shock was bad and that it would be about 1000 to fix everything. *tr
Have had to replace front struts three times since purchasing the car new.
tires 1 complaint shown
I bought a set of continental procontact tires 205/55/16 for a Honda civic. On 12-12-13 and drove to harrisonburg va about 200 miles on 12-17-13. That night the tire pressure indicator lit up since it was late we waited until morning to check the tire at which time it was flat. Embedded in the tire was a wire going from near the wheel along the sidewall toward the tread. It was about 5 inches in length and about 0.125 inches in diameter. Both ends were in the tire and there appeared to be a slice in the sidewall beneath the wire. Went to walmart where the tire was examined, they pulled one end out but the other didn't budge. Had to go to another store for the replacement. They were also not able to pull the wire out. Upon returning home I took the damaged tire to the store it was or
powertrain 1 complaint shown
I have a 2009 Honda civic hybrid. After having the vehicle for less than 1 year I noticed that the battery began to suddenly drop it's state of charge (soc) during the first few miles of driving after the vehicle was parked for several hours. On sustained trips the vehicle will suddenly drop its charge about every 20 minutes. The safety issue is that when the vehicle suddenly loses it's state of charge (soc) there is a significant loss of acceleration. If the sudden loss of soc occurs at a time when you are pulling out into traffic, you find yourself being unable to accelerate to avoid the oncoming traffic. On several occasions I have pulled out into traffic with the soc reading 75% or higher, only to find that "at that exact moment", the vehicle decided to dump its charge. On sever

Tl* the contact owns a 2009 Honda civic. While idling at a stop sign the engines RPM's began to rapidly increase, and then the vehicle began to accelerate. Consequently he rear-ended another vehicle. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealership. The current and failure mileages were 22000.
wheels 1 complaint shown
I own a 2009 Honda civic 4-dr sedan that has a problem with ice and snow accumulating on the wheel in as little as a 2 inch snowfall condition. This ice and snow accumulation causes the front wheels to be out-of-balance and result in vibrations that make the vehicle uncontrollable in speeds greater that 50 MPH. I am the original owner of this vehicle that has 20,000 miles on it and have now used it during two winters. This is the second time I have had to pull the wheels off to remove the accumulated snow and ice from the inner walls of the wheel in order to drive it safely at speeds over 50 MPH. I believe this is a safely issue with the wheel design for this vehicle. It only appears to affect the front wheel locations, not the rear wheels. *tr
