I left for work in the morning and I turned on the rear defrost because we had a heavy frost overnight. Window was fine when I got out of truck at work. It was a 10 minute drive to work. When I got back into truck 10 hours later to leave work, I saw that the passenger side of the three piece rear window was broken. The glass did not fall out of the frame so it was not from an impact. Air temp stayed just below freezing all day. Had to spend roughly an hour on the phone with my insurance company and my Ford dealer to get the part ordered. It will be four days till it will be fixed. I just hope nothing happens that will cause the glass to fall out of the frame. I drive my truck at least 6 days a week so I cannot be without it. Please do something about this issue. *js
Tl*the contact owns a 2010 Ford f-150. The contact stated that the instrumental panel illumination failed and would not light up; the contact could not see the speed at which he was traveling. The vehicle was inspected by the dealer who informed the contact that the failure was normal and no repairs were needed. The manufacturer was also contacted who informed the dealer that the vehicle was designed in that manner. The vehicle had not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000. The VIN was unavailable.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 Ford f-150. On several occasions, while driving, the door ajar indicator illuminated, indicating that the door was ajar. The contact stated that the rear driver's and passenger side doors were closed. Upon further inspection, he noticed that the wires were fractured. The contact called cloninger Ford of morgantown at (828) 584-4600(1001 jamestown rd, morgantown, nc 28655) and took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the driver's side wiring harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to call NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
Truck stalls coming to a stop at red lights/stop signs. Also stalls while simply driving down a street or highway/interstate. After shutting down recently (while driving on the interstate), the truck was towed. I was traveling at 65mph on interstate at the time and was able to drift into emergency lane. After several tests, learned there was a problem in the fuse box. The fuse to the fuel pump was melted in the fuse box. Was told the fuel pump on these years pulls more than required amps and is overheating the fuse and melting it. Was told the fuse box would need to be replaced and Ford has a 4 to 6 week back order on these. Because of so many issues. Not fair for consumers to pay for this engineering mistake.
Started the car in the morning. Turned on the rear defroster. Began to shovel the driveway and heard a loud pop from the truck. Didn't notice anything until I got in to back up and saw the rear passenger window gad shattered. Ford dealer was very familiar with the "window" problem, as they described it. Said that because the vehicle was past 50,000 miles that it was no longer under warranty. I rarely use the rear defroster. The dealer said I should take it to the local glass specialist to have it replaced. They never mentioned that it may be an electrical problem. It seems to me that a known repetitive problem should be paid for by Ford. If it is an electrical problem, I may be replacing my window more than once. *tr
Dash lights go out without doing anything, also all gauges on dash go to 0 (like when the truck is shut off) and the a/c compressor and blinkers stops working, the fan continues working. The engine, breaks, headlights continue to work. Sometimes if you hit the dash with your fist everything will return to working condition. Good luck figuring this out because Ford dealership can't.

While driving down the highway, I turned on the rear window defroster to melt some snow on that window. No cars in sight in either direction. Suddenly there was a load noise (almost like a gunshot). The back sliding window panel on the passenger side blew out. There appeared a hole about the size of a softball. The rest of the same panel was shattered. My wife and I literally jumped. She hollered. At first we thought someone had shot the window. I can only imagine what would have happened if someone was sitting in the back seat in front of the window when it blew. I asked the man who installed the new one and he said he does about 5 of these a year. I checked online, and one website had 104 complaints about the f150 window blowing out. I think this should be checked into. *js
Wife was driving home on a 30 degree snowy day with rear defroster on. Backed into the garage and as she turned the truck off a lot bang occurred. I was in the garage at the time and realized the passenger rear window spider cracked and essentially shattered. Ford says there is no recall, had replaced the next day for 600 dollars.
While driving my Ford f150 on a state highway I turned on the defrost switch for the rear window. Within a few minutes time the rear window panel shattered with a loud pop expelling glass shardes over the rear seating area. A smell of burning plastic accompanied this incident causing me and my family to pull off the road and evacuate the vehicle. This truck has 58000 miles on it and Ford says its not there problem although after researching this many people have had this same experience.
While driving on a local road (approx. 45 MPH, raining, approx. 50 degrees outside) heard a sound that sounded like a gun shot. Looked around and didn't see anything next to me or behind me. When next stopped the truck got out to check to see if something happened to the truck body. Then realized the passenger side back rear window shattered. (it's a 3-part rear window.) looking very closely, the glass spidered, starting from the bottom corner closest to the center window up to the opposite top corner. The glass spidered inside the car. Outside the glass, although still intact, was buckled facing out. At the time this happened, the rear window defroster was on. When got back in truck to travel home, during the drive the window broke with small pieces of glass falling all over the back seat

Leaving red light, truck stalled. Oil light came on, lost power steering, brake. Was able to coast at an angle to the side. Could have caused an accident or traffic jam. Put truck in park, waited a minute, turned back on and gave it gas. Ran fine after that. Took to dealership next day. They said would not be any way to know what happened without pulling engine apart. Suggested multi point inspection and tune up. Did not mention this issue occurring previously or the numerous complaints of this issue online. They found a dusty air intake sensor that could have caused the problem. Changed spark plugs and performed tune up & oil change. Incident happened again leaving gas station pump on dec 29, 2014. When restarted, it cranked several times but wouldn't fire up. Tried 3 times before s
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 Ford f-150. While driving approximately 50 MPH, the steering wheel detatched from the steering column. The contact pulled over to the road shoulder, pushed the steering wheel back in, and drove to the residence. The following day, the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who bolted the steering wheel back to the column. Hertrich Ford (9617 ocean gtwy, easton, md 21601) was contacted by phone and referred the contact to headquarters. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 170,000.

Accelerator stuck to floorboard. Applied maximum braking until brakes faded and were no longer effective in deceleration. Turned off ignition and coasted to the curb. After 3-5 minutes, restarted the engine and vehicle functioned normally. Purchased this truck used and this was the first time the accelerator was applied fully. It will be the last. *tr

At apx 10,00 miles on my 2010 f150 I started getting a clunk/bump in the driveline when stopping and starting. Sometimes it was worse when turning. I am a 20 year veteran mechanic with prior Ford dealer experience. I have not been able to get this issue resolved by the local servicing Ford dealer vanbortel Ford. It has been in many many times for the same complaint. In the life of this vehicle it has had an engine replaced at 20,00 the torque converter at 25,000 the driveshaft at apx 35,000 the rear springs at 37,000 and the issue still persists. It is in now on 12/26/2012 for a trans leak, poor engine/trans performance and reduced economy from reflashing the trans several times as well as the same clunk/bump when starting and stopping. My concern is that the unknown defect causing clun

Vehicle would stall at random while driving. Mechanics at Ford advised that it was relay wire or harness wires for the airbag sensors that ran through the fuel tank were corroded or shorted out. They reported that the engineers at Ford made a bad call when they decided to run the wires through the fuel tank, which in turn resulted in me having to dish out 1500 bucks for the repair. This issue occurred multiple times prior to the repair on a truck with less than 53000 miles at the time, between during march or april of 2014 when I first purchased the used truck. Lost all power at various speeds and on several road types including highway, highway service road, residential street and farm to market road, while going strait and during turns, after multiple events and having put less than 100
