I recently was driving my 2010 Hyundai vera cruz on the interstate when the engine suddenly died on me. I noticed that there was a mixture of oil and water coming from beneath the car. Upon further inspection I was informed the motor was locked. I had just replaced the alternator in may of this year due to oil leaking on it. I can't recall if the original owner had the car serviced for the recall or not. But I did call in about it and was informed that it was not on the list and if I need to have it checked at the local Hyundai dealer then I would have to pay the service charge. Well to me that wasn't fair, but now the fairness is gone because now I'll have to pay out 6200 to have the engine replaced. This issue could have been avoided.
They should not have closed/completed the prior recall that was open regarding the valve cover gasket leak - oil leaks onto the alternator when can cause the alternator to fail. I went to the dealership last year to get it fixed and even per the dealership, they told me this valve cover leak is going to still be a problem even if fixed. It will leak again - and they are right. It is currently leaking again and possibly causing the alternator to fail.....again. Just this weekend my battery and alternator are failing when I just got them replaced within this past year!

Battery and seat belt indicator lights began flashing intermittently and eventually I lost all power and engine shut down on a busy highway with several children and an infant on board.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 Hyundai veracruz. While driving approximately 75 MPH, all the warning lights illuminated and the engine stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. It was discovered that oil was leaking from the front cylinder valve cover gasket onto the alternator, which caused the alternator to fail. As a result, the alternator, the front valve cover gasket, and the battery needed to be replaced. The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 14v415000 (electrical system) and stated that the remedy was not available. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.
For the 2nd time after per Hyundai a previously recalled issue was repaired, my alternator failed while driving on a interstate highway. The previous recall is number: 14v415000. When the vehicle stalled leaving me stranded and upon inspection under the hood, the alternator which was replace only 3 years ago when this last happened and per Hyundai again 2 years before that for the recall, was completely covered in oil as if the recall was never done even though they say it was. (3 alternators covered in oil for a vehicle that is only 10 years old). This issue came out of no where and again left me stranded. It the recall was actually completed I believe the gasket/seal that was replaced is faulty.
Our ESC light comes on occasionally, many times when making a left turn. Then the throttle quits and the car slows down. We had it in the shop 6 times with no repair.

As of today 3 out of 4 interior door handles on my 2010 Hyundai veracruz have broken. The remaining door is intermittent due to a defective door lock. From an online search this is obviously a very common problem, spanning several years and models, obviously due to poor design or materials. It is also not one that I care to pay to repair and then have to pay again in the future. Inability to open a door from the inside of the vehicle creates a serious safety problem. In the event of an accident I will need to be able to hopefully unlock the door, open the window and reach the outside door handle to get out. Of course this assumes that power is not interrupted as a result of accident. Without electrical we would be trapped in the vehicle. Additionally, as a man of color, I don't cherish the

One or two years ago the plastic driver door inside door handle broke off. This week the plastic passenger front inside door handle broke. Not good. If there was a wreck and you needed to get out of the car and the door handle breaks you could be in a world of trouble! I don't think door handles should break!! I have the passenger broken door handle.

When press the brakes the rear brake lights do not come on. The vehicle rear lights are on but the brakes lights do not illuminate when the brake pedal is pushed when having to stop or slow down. Only found out about the lights because individual behind my veracruz pulled from around me to the driver side of my car and told me I had no brake lights just tail lights and he almost rear-rear ended me at the stoplight.
