?on 12/26/2014, I started my tundra, placed it into gear after a 30 second pause and proceeded to literally stand on my breaks to stop the vehicle from lurching forward. The back tires spun causing smoke to emanate from the screeching tires. At the time I placed the vehicle in gear, a pedestrian was walking in front of the tundra. I almost squashed them.? *js

I am very concerned about a noise in the front end of the truck (front differential and shaft) while the car is running still on cold and at a speed lower than 50mph. I do not know if it could lead me to have a car accident into the city. I have seen many other people with the same complain with absolutely new tundras. I wonder if it is about time for Toyota tundra put hands on it and fix this old problem.

Truck is a 2011 Toyota tundra with 66,000 miles. Truck has been diagnosed with faulty left rear axle bearing that is creating a howl type noise while driving. Noise is predominant at 30-40 MPH. Toyota needs to extend t-sb-0013-13 for certain 2011 model tundras.

I have a 2011 tundra sr5 with a loud clicking noise that has been coming from the steering column near the shift lever. While in park, the brake pedal must be pressed in order to shift the truck into gear. When I press the brake pedal, a loud click can be heard from the column shifter. This is the column shift lockout solenoid and is normal. However, recently I can hear the solenoid clicking anytime I depress the brake pedal while I'm in gear. Sometimes it is a click, two clicks and sometimes it is series of rapid clicks. I have taken the truck to the dealer twice. The first time I was told the clicking was normal while in park and that they could not duplicate it while in gear. The second time I took it to the dealer, they "blew out the excess grease" from the shift lock. Their best expla

Horn stopped working right after I bought this truck from a dealer. I did some research on why it stopped. I was told and also read that it was the air bag clock spring. This controls the air bags and horn and other components. What it is the clock spring was installed by Toyota that had a bad spot on it. This causes the wiring harness to start rubbing and cutting into the wires. Would cause the horn to stop working and the air bags not to work and other things that is wired to this harness also. This should be a safety concern, and Toyota needs to recall to fix. Read that the 2011 Toyota's was bad for doing this. Costing the customer about $800.00 to fix. I have the truck about 3 months. Might be the reason it was traded in. Works some times and doesn't work. I am worried the air bags wil

On 11/25/22 I meet with American Auto Mall to buy a used truck I was assured through text, website and window sticker that the truck was in excellent condition inside and out.. I have all this documents proofing this.. I did van limited inspection at the lot and a test drive.. found nothing that stuck out.. other than the radio not working but the dealership said he would reimburse me if I got it fixed..so after that a down payment was made of $5550 dollars and paperwork was signed.. I drove the truck home and the next week I got in it and it wouldn't start, turns out it needed a battery and alternator, so I took it to a shop and was told that this vehicle was badly rusted and had a lot of hidden rust damage.. and improperly installed brakes., coolant leaks and exhaust leaks.. after findi

2011 Toyota tundra check engine light, 2lo, and traction control light all came on. Took to dealer, dealer found rodent damage to wiring harness. Replaced wiring harness and cleaned out mouse nest. Rodents were attracted to soy based wiring used in tundra trucks. Over $600 in damage, not covered by Toyota, but should be!

While driving the check engine light came on and I lost propulsion power resulting in vehicle slowing down and almost creating an accident from behind. I had the vehicle checked via a obd2 code checker which resulted in code p2442. After verifying code, it looks as if it is a faulty air intake. Looking through several sources on the internet, it seems to be a very common problem that Toyota is refusing to acknowledge or repair. Please take this issue into consideration and help the consumer.

Fuel tank fuel sending unit bad. I was pulling out it traffic when the vehicle suddenly died. Some people stopped to help me push it over to the curb. Had it towed to the repair shop. They reported back the vehicle was out of gas and that the fuel tank fuel level sending unit was bad. The repair is $600+. The vehicle has just over 65,000 miles on it. An internet search shows this is a somewhat common problem and has been since 2002 model year. I called Toyota and as expected they are not willing to do anything relative to covering the problem. (case number 1611010676). The fuel gauge was reading just under 1/4 of a tank and the low fuel light was not on when the issue occurred.

On sun. 10/11/14, I drove our tundra on the highway when it lost power. The engine raced and rpms increased, but the speed fell and no acceleration was possible. On a hill, speed fell to about 15 MPH. I was on my way to pick up my horse and trailer; if I had been towing them, it would have been catastrophic especially given the highway speed traffic. It was still dangerous even without the trailer. I turned on my hazard lights and limped off. "check engine" lit up. Took to dealership the next day, who said check engine code was "p2445" for "secondary air injection system water intrusion" requiring replacement of the air pump assembly, air pump inlet, emission valve set, etc. For $2600 because water invaded the system. The service tech said that this was not a known issue, but my in

Rack and pinion seals failed causing the power steering fluid to leak inside the boots on the end of the rack and pinion assembly therefore not leaking onto the ground so there was no indication of a problem until the power steering fails to work properly while driving the vehicle. Toyota is aware of the defect but refuses to admit there is a faulty part or design problem.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 Toyota tundra. While driving 35 MPH, there was an abnormal whining noise coming from the steering wheel. After a few moments, the steering seized without warning. The contact managed to drive to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the steering pump and belt failed and needed to be replaced. The pump and belt were replaced; however, the rack and pinion needed to be repaired by a dealer. The vehicle was towed to peoria Toyota (7401 n allen rd, peoria, il 61614, (309)-354-3894) where it was diagnosed that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was currently being repaired by the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that no warranties were available and the tsb had expired. I bought a 2011 Toyota tundra crewmax, that was lifted and had different wheels and tires put on by the dealership prior to me purchasing the truck, around october of 2011. I found it to be slightly pulling left so I thought it needed an alignment done so call russel Toyota in catonsville and was told to drive for awhile to make sure and its not the roads. At about 2000 mile I call the dealership again and made an appointment to drop off the truck. A week later I dropped off the truck at the dealership for an alignment and metal noise coming from the front driver wheel area and was called back later that day to pick it up and bring it back when the weather was nicer so I picked up the truck. I got back from vacation and dropped off the truck at the dealership for alignment, noise from the

On 12/17/2016 my daughter and I had a head-on collision. The passenger side airbags deployed fine and prevented my daughter from having any major injuries. My driver's side airbag popped out of the steering wheel but didn't inflate. Due to the airbag not deploying properly I hit my head on the steering wheel. This caused me to be transported by ambulance to the local hospital where I received stitches in my forehead and continue to suffer from a dizziness/headaches - concussion. I have asked my insurer usaa and their contracted inspectors to inspect the driver's airbag without success. Apparently you need to hire your own engineers or inspectors to conduct an inspection. I have tried to locate one in wv without success. Usaa wants to close out the claim and salvage/auction my vehicle. I w
