Ignition switch key lock solenoid (n376) problem. Hello, my wife's 2011 jetta has a malfunctioning ignition lock cylinder. Perhaps the ignition switch key lock solenoid (n376)? Normally the key should be locked in the ignition while the car is in d(drive). However, there appears to be a malfunction in the n376 (or other) which does not engage the locking solenoid. This allows for the key to be pulled out while in d. She was able to turn the car off and pull the keys out of the car while the car was still in d(drive), got out of the car and the car rolled back and hit a Porsche. Thankfully the car did not run over a child or other person. From brief research I see there have been multiple recalls on similar items, here is an article on one though not specifically on the 2011 je

On this vehicle, fuse (f16 plug-in position) overheated and damaged the fuse box, causing a partial loss of exterior vehicle lighting. This could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Vw issued 97am action alert for earlier year same models, but not this and later year models.
Driver side low beam not working. The headlights were replaced but this did not fix the issue. The problem might be with faulty parts or electrical.
Lights started randomly going out, and control center started naming several different bulbs that were out. When taken to dealer nothing was wrong. I took car home and everything was fine. The next morning car acted up again, so I video taped it and took it back to dealer while leaving running so they could see. This time their computer recognized the fault, which was a faulty fuse panel that was melting yet not tripping fuse.
The right half of my jetta lost all of its exterior lighting suddenly. The vehicle was taken to the university Volkswagen dealership here in seattle. It was determined that fuse sb16 aka f16 melted causing the fuse panel to also melt. Repair involved replacing fuse panel and new updated version of sb16 fuse. This fuse was the subject of NHTSA campaign id number: 13v569000 in my 2009 - 2011 Volkswagen tiguan and the 2009 -2010 jetta. It seems that this has been happening in the my 2011 jetta.
Vehicle was driven 1.5 miles and placed into p with emergency brake engaged on a slight incline in a private driveway during snowy conditions. Seven hours later, attempts to start the vehicle was not possible because key would not turn in ignition due to failure of the ignition lock cylinder. Two original keys issued by manufacturer at time of purchase were tried in ignition, neither would turn ignition beyond accessory to allow for start of engine. Attempts to lubricate ignition lock cylinder as recommended by vw service department rendered no results.vehicle was towed by flatbed at owner's expense to be stored as repair expense is not financially feasible at this time. Vehicle requires towing for service and nearest vw dealership is more than 100 miles away. Complete, sudden failure of I

Hello. There is an issue with my 2011 vw jetta's ac system. There is an awful odor. It smells moldy and musty(musky). I went to a dealer and they told me to change my air filter and a few other things. It worked for about 4 days and the smell came right back. I have talked to other jetta and a passat owner one 2012 and one 2013, they also have the same issue. At first my car had a burning smell coming from the system when I started my car and turned the air on. A few minutes later an odor filled my vents. This happened after I purchased my car in 2013. About 6 months later. I have constantly changed the filters and will be getting a new air compressor soon, but. I was told that it may not help the smell from the system. I have been online searching to see if any other vw owners have had th
I wanted to follow up on my previous claim. As stated in my previous note, I noticed the odor a few months after purchasing my car. A few years after I got my car, I developed a mold allergy and it was getting harder for me to breathe. The only time the issue occurred was when I would drive my car. So, I had to go to the allergy doctor. They did a few tests and found out I had a mold allergy. A few weeks later, I kept smelling a smell from my ac. I asked a friend to come and check on my air filter in my car. He pulled it out and it was full of mold. He told me that the car was retaining moisture in my a/c unit and that it is probably what is hurting my allergies. With that being said, I have to change my filter at least once a month. One, to make sure that it doesn't mold. Two, so that I
The car randomly stalls!!! This has happened several times and the dealer says nothing is wrong because there are no codes. This is so dangerous and I do not feel safe driving it. Twice the car stalled when sitting at a stop light and once when I was driving on the city street. It will restart after I let it sit. It also stutters/jumps and de excellerates.
High pressure fuel pump failure july 2015, was driving at highway speed when glow plug indicator started flashing, pulled off highway and car stalled in highway off-ramp intersection. Pushed car out of intersection to side shoulder. Car towed to fox vw of rochester hills mi. Vw authorized warranty claim on replacement of entire fuel system. Repair was completed and car returned. Car smelled of diesel in the interior compartment. Smell did not lessen after 1 week even with windows open to air out. Returned vehicle to fox vw. Fox vw stated that there was a spill at the access to the fuel pump sending unit under the seat. The spill was cleaned up and vehicle returned. Diesel smell was less. Fast forward 3 months to november 2015, returned car for extended warranty service for g

Letter to administrator from regarding a problem with his 2011 Volkswagen jetta sel. *kb the consumer stated 13 days after purchasing the vehicle, the check engine light illuminated. The consumer took the vehicle back to the dealer, but the problem was not resolved. The consumer went to another vw who has been handling the problem ever since. The consumer stated he has been to the dealer four times in order to resolve the ongoing problem. The consumer requested that Volkswagen write off the vehicle as a defective, unsafe vehicle; since the problem was in the fuel system (code po456) EVAP leak.
I was driving 40 MPH and the car lost power and the glow plug light turn on and off then the car turned off and it didn't turn back on. *tr
November 2014 incidents: two incidents of failing to start. First incident: car failed to start once and started on second try. Second incident: car several times failed to start & engine made clanking noise. Had car towed to vw agency. Car started after unloaded from tow truck and agency found nothing wrong. December 2014 incident: car started, but after slowly driving to parking lot exit and before at full stop, at engine quit and would not restart. I put the car in neutral and backed down a slight grade to get car out of traffic; after coming to a stop the car started up.

If the outside temperature goes below approximately 15 degrees fahrenheit, the wipers fail to operate. This can happen when the vehicle has been parked, or during operation. This has happened several times and from indications on the internet, is a known safety problem.
When cold, the windshield wipers won't work until it warms up enough. If your driving and it gets cold, like during snowstorm, they quit working. I have looked online and have encountered many instances of this. The cost is around $500 to $1000 for parts and labor for..., maybe the motor, maybe the wiper transmission, maybe both. Nonsense! This is a huge safety issue. Please do something and issue a recall for this problem is occurring with different vehicles over many year models. Just do an online search for windshield wiper problems and narrow the results to wipers won't work when its cold. Dealer says we've never encountered that. I can't believe it if they know what they have to replace. Please help. People are in danger. *tr
fuel system 2 complaints shown
I had just exited the highway, when the engine died at 35 MPH. The car would not restart afterwards. The dealer indicated that the fuel system was contaminated with metal shavings. This appears to be another case of failure of the high pressure fuel pump with the 2.0 tdi engine. Only diesel fuel has *ever* been used in the vehicle. As per vw's tsb, the dealer tested the fuel and indicated that it was ok. Vw covered the replacement of the entire fuel system under warranty. Otherwise, this would have cost approximately $10k. *tr
Attempted to start 2011 jetta tdi with 11000 miles after it had been sitting in a parking lot for 9 hours. Temperature 45f outside. Vehicle started perfectly and then died seconds later. Attempted to start vehicle again, but would not turn over. Had a lot of trouble getting it to start and when it did it was running very rough and then would die immediately. Finally able to start vehicle and keep it running after approximately 30 minutes. Was able to drive 30+ miles home - started fine after. This is the second occurrence. This first occurred approximately 1 month ago with 8000 miles on vehicle. Outside temperature was in mid forties. Car would not start at all - kept turning over, but would not start. Glow plug light flashed intermittently. After waiting approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour

For two years prior to august 2016, I went into my vw dealer once a month because the check tire light came on. Each time they just put air in the tires and said there was no problem, and each time I asked them to check the rims. Once or twice they inspected and cleaned the rims and said there was no problem. In june 2016 I asked them to check again because I planned to drive from chicago to new york. They assured me I would not have a problem. But driving back from new york in august 2016, the car was not handling well, so I checked the tires even though the check tire light had not come on. I didn't spot a problem, so I continued to drive, but on the expressway just outside of youngstown, ohio, the left front tire suddenly went flat, and I barely was able to steer the car to the side of

I purchased a used 2011 Volkswagen jetta in july 2012 with approximately 20,000 miles. 6 months later I noticed that one of the front headlights was out. I looked up the replacement bulb and purchased a h7 halogen bulb for approximately $25. A few more months down the road the other headlight went out, again, I purchased the replacement bulb at price point of $25. Since then I have replaced each headlight at least two more times. With that said, I am now coming to the conclusion that there has to be an electrical problem with the jettas headlights. I've noticed other jetta's on the road with headlights out as well. In most cars lights last at least year or more. I recall in a previous vehicle I replacement the lights once and that was after 3 maybe 4 years, and these were all day running l
