The truck vibrates uncontrollably when driving on the freeway at speeds between 65-75mph. This typically occurs when the truck hits a bump when driving in this speed range. Doing a google search and reviewing videos of this issue reveals a pheonomea referred to as 'death wobble'. This has happened to me at least 8 times over the past 8-10 months. I had the shocks changed recently hoping that this would fix the problem. This did NOT fix the problem. On one occassion while driving in Pennsylvania towing my boat, I was nearly in an accident. When the vibration/attenuation occurred I was driving approx 70mph and had to slow to 40mph nearly causing an accident. This is a very scary issue that apparently through research Ford is well aware of. I have my truck at the dealership as I wri

Was driving at 55mph and suddenly truck went into a terrible death wobble & almost caused a serious crash. On 11/25/2025 I had taken it in to the ford dealership to correct this problem since it had happened four times in August & September of this year. Which also almost caused four serious accidents. The ford dealer replaced L & R dragline ends & adjuster sleeve.Replaced right outer tie rod end & replaced track bar ball joint. Performed 3D wheel alignment & road tested on highway..This is the second time I’m writing you to get this recalled.
A Ford truck "death wobble" alleges f-250 and f-350 trucks have problems with the steering linkage and suspension systems. The proposed class action lawsuit includes current and former owners and lessees of 2005-2019 Ford f-250 and f-350 trucks. However, the plaintiff says the Ford dealership denied the wobble problem and refused to repair the truck under warranty. The Ford truck death wobble lawsuit was filed in the u.s. District court for the southern district of california - william lessin, et al., v. Ford motor company.
Steering became erratic & uncontrolable while driving at 55mph. Steering wheel shook . It was a death wobble and almost caused a serious accident. This has happened four times in the last two months. This is a 2013 Ford f-350 with 102,000 miles. Each time truck had it happen, it was after a expansion joint in road was gone over. Truck was taken to Ford dealer & we are waiting for their assement of the problem.
When hitting a bump in the road at highway speed, the front end of the truck will began to wobble and oscillate uncontrollably. Had to stop by the side of the road to get it to stop. Took it to the local Ford dealership and they are replacing all the steering components in the front end at my expense…$2100. This is apparently a known issue with 2009 and later Ford Super Duty trucks. This is an extremely dangerous situation and should be rectified by Ford at no cost to owners.
We had the death wobbles going 65 on cruise control everytime we hit a bump on the freeway. I lose control until I slow down to 35 mph.
I was driving approximately 56 miles per hour on a highway when I experienced a horrible wobble of the front end of the truck. I immediately stopped and took it to the nearest dealer who told me that they did not know what could have caused this. They replaced almost all components in the front end of the truck including the track bar, stabilizer, bearings, and all associated bushings. Several days later I was driving on a different road around 60 miles per hour and experienced the same issue.
I was driving on the freeway when I hit a small bump and the steering wheel began to shake uncontrollably. Luckily, I was able to merge to the shoulder for safety. Only after I stopped completely did the shaking stop. Signs of the famous "death wobble" on these trucks. Ford needs to fix! Veer dangerous and scary.

Death wobble in motion usually on the highway
While driving in excess of 55 MPH on all road surfaces the front end will randomly go into a violent front end wobble. The vehicle shakes violently as to throw heavy items from the door pockets and prevent steering the vehicle. We have replaced a suspected steering components with no remedy. We understand that a similar issue with this vehicle occurred in a later model truck and has been recalled. Our mechanic has nicknamed this wobble a death wobble.
I am the original owner and began experiencing the death wobble in 2020. I put $5k into my suspension and put an additional steering stabilizer bracket to still experience the wobble. It’s dangerous and has nearly made me wreck with my only child onboard. Something has to be done. This is a known issue that Ford will not address or repair properly. These vehicles are not cheap and we should feel safe to drive on the interstate. I currently cannot. Extremely disappointed in Ford
As I drive on the freeway, if I hit even the smallest bump or rough patch in the road, the vehicle begins to shake violently and the only way to stop the shaking is to slow way down to an almost complete stop. It is difficult to see and steer to control vehicle. Often I am not able to pull over to the side of the road to stop and end up stopping in a lane in the middle of the freeway. This is very dangerous. We have had the vehicle serviced multiple times to try to repair the problem and nothing has helped.

Several months ago I noticed a shrill whining noise coming from the engine compartment. Upon closer inspection, I observed raw emissions coming from the exhaust manifold. Upon research I noticed that this was a very common problem with the 6.7 diesel between 2011 and 2014 with Ford even putting out a service bulletin (SSM50330) and designing repair parts and new heads for their defective design of exhaust studs. The repair of this defective part is very costly and they expect the owners of the vehicles to bear the entire cost of this repair. This is not only a safety issue because of exhaust gases entering the cab of the vehicle, but is also an EPA issue because these gases are passing directly to the atmosphere without being treated or going through the catalytic converter!

The vehicle was taken to cornerstone Ford Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (17219 us-10, elk, mn 55330) where it was diagnosed that the DEF system needed to be replaced or the vehicle would eventually go into limp mode. The dealer replaced the DEF system, but the failure recurred eighteen months later. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was not included in any recalls. The dealer was also contacted again. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the DEF system was replaced again. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 93,000.

The egt sensor failed, therefore the engine's computer shut down the motor while I was driving 70 MPH on the interstate. The shut down starts by no longer allowing acceleration or to remain at a constant speed, but rather forcing the vehicle to slow down and not allowing the driver to keep engine control. I was in a rural stretch of highway and was able to get to the shoulder of the road without too much trouble, however I would be very concerned if this engine shut down happened while driving on a highway with a lot of traffic. I see that ambulance equipped Ford diesel vehicles have been recalled, but not others. If the motor shuts itself down while driving on a busy highway, this is a big safety concern for myself and other employees.
