The low beams are at the point where it almost looks like they are not on. I have replaced the bulbs, didn't help at all. I adjusted the 2 different adjustment pieces, one is under the hood and the other is behind the inner fender. That didn't correct it.I called Nissan and they are not aware of this issue . I did see on a Nissan form listed as www.nissanproblems.com/altima-projector-headlights/ ,that a lot of people are having this issue with what is called the 5th generation altima. Which is considered a 2013-2015. I believe this issue should be considered a safety hazard. This problem occurs when it is dark out and the headlights are on to see, whether or not your moving or standing still.

The lights are so dim it is like I don't have them on at night. Very hard to see driving at night. *dt the VIN provided has no displayable records. *jb
Well documented issue. "5th generation altima's low beam headlights are extremely dim" and unsafe for driving at night. Mine have become worse over time to the point where I now feel unsafe driving at night. As others have stated replacing the bulb with a brighter version does not help as the reflective material within the projector deteriorates to the point of making any bulb useless. Thankfully no accidents have occurred yet, but it is very difficult to see obstructions in the road until it is too late and have skimmed or nearly jumped more than a few curbs making right and left turns at night.
Headlights are too dim--where I can only see 4 ft in front of my car at nite. It's a very dangerous safety issue.
The headlights are increasingly diminishing in regards to the distance in which it projects as the car ages though from day one the headlights were poor in which moon or fog lights were installed to supplement this issue. The faster you travel the poorer the quality of the lighting. I've changed headlights at the dealership and this has not resolved the issue, I've even adjusted the headlight projection to no resolve. There is no known solution to this matter as apparently Nissan refuses to take any action and driving at night is a double edge sword, the driver drives blinded as the poor projection or the driver uses high beams and blinds other drivers which further increases danger of the general public.
The headlights and exterior lights are extreemely dim on this vehicle. Safety hazard, especially at night
Extremely dim low beam headlights. Changing bulbs didn't help. Have to drive with high beams and affect others sometimes. This is always, never changes day to day or under different conditions.
Low beam headlights are very dim. When I first bought the car they were so bright that I was getting brights flashed at me with people thinking I had my high beams on. Now they barley are bright. It is very hard to see at night unless I have my high beams on. I thought it was the head lamp itself but I have replaced them. I have also had to replace my low beams 4 times since I've owned the car for them burning out. Once at the time. After reading so many complaints about it, why isn't Nissan taking care of this issue? I love my car but hate the headlights. This has been an on going issue for the last 3 years.
I have a 2013 Nissan. Altima and the lights are very dim. I have replaced the light bulbs and it didn't make a difference. I can not see 2 feet in front of me. This is very dangerous for my kids and myself. I don't feel comfortable driving at night because there isn't enough light to see what's in front of me, or others to see me. Many of times people have turned in front of me because the lights are so dim.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 Nissan altima. While driving 70 MPH, the vehicle began to shake without warning. The contact pulled over, exited the vehicle, looked under the vehicle, and noticed that the rear passenger lower control arm was fractured. The vehicle was towed to Nissan of canton (42175 michigan ave, canton, mi 48188, (734) 392-8248) where it was diagnosed that the rear passenger control arm and subframe were fractured. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA action number: ea19002. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided case number: 38269408. The failure mileage was 135,751.
I was driving my vehicle in town (35 MPH) and was going under a underpass. All of a sudden I noticed my anti slip light came on, steering wheel became hard to steer, and a loud banging coming from the back of the car. I pulled over and looked around the back of the car, seeing nothing out of the ordinary. I continued on, thinking it was possibly something wrong electrically, maybe with the anti slip system. Drove a few more miles, including on the highway (60 MPH) and the car still was handling difficult. Arrived home, looked around the back end of car, noticed the rear passenger side wheel was tilted in and lower control arm (right) was snapped. Called tow truck driver to tow to repair shop. Over $1000 in repairs.

This car seems to have the same software issue as other altimas but the VIN does not record a recall. When someone is in the passenger seat, there is no dashboard confirmation and we are worried that the airbag might not deploy.
Seatbealt light is on when no one is one is seated there. Had to take the car to dealership and after charging me $154.99 they recalibrated light and performed zero point calibration. I have the invoice if needed. Why do we have to pay for safety issue?

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 Nissan altima. While driving approximately 45 MPH, the hood of the vehicle released, cracked the windshield, and detached the finders. The contact parked the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact notified the dealer where a VIN search was performed. The dealer informed the contact of three open recalls on the vehicle; however, NHTSA campaign number: 14v565000 (latches/locks/linkages) was directly related to the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.
I was driving down the road and my hood flew open and hit my windshield very hard. I was unable to see due to hood flying up and almost caused me to crash. It damaged my side fenders due to impact. I was going about 20mph on a side road in gahanna oh. It happened on 12/28/2020. I was never notified of open recalls via mail nor email. I am highly upset at the fact it could have harmed me or someone else. I would like to be contacted regarding this matter as soon as possible.

The vehicle will stutter and sometimes stall when stopped and in drive. It is also often sluggish when accelerating. I have had it in for service a number of times, the most recent indicating it is likely a transmission issue and the CVT will need to be replaced. The issue started in spring, 2017, but has gotten worse recently. I have noticed there is a technical service bulletin associated with this condition (ntb 15-086g).
Purchased car may of 2013, pre-owned certified and only 21000miles. From onset of ownership, brakes made noises, "cyclop brake light in rear window would blink constantly, dash lights would go from dim to bright all the time. The car would hesitate when leaving stop position, pushing electronic start button would not work often. Dealership always said that the situation could not be duplicated. On dec. 2nd, 2015 while driving home I was approaching a stopped car in the middle of the road and tried to slow below the 20mph I was driving and the brake pedal went all the way to the floor and all dash lights went blank and the car stalled resulting in a collision. The car would not start for over 2 hours. The dealership asked about the key fob location and battery condition and the batteri

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 Nissan altima. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 65 MPH, the sunroof exploded and small particles of glass shattered outside of the vehicle. The sunroof sliding cover was closed when the failure occurred. The vehicle was maneuvered to the side of the road. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the entire sunroof was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 49,000.

As many others have previously reported, this 2013 altima will not detect an adult passenger (140+ lbs) and will turn off the passenger airbag. The initial safety recall work was performed on the car (prior to our purchase of the vehicle), but the problem continues to happen. We have talked to several dealers who have not been able to do anything to fix the problem because it appears that Nissan doesn't know how to fix it. This huge safety concern makes the car unusable when we need to have more than one person in the car and we cannot get the airbag to work properly. NHTSA: please force Nissan to do something about this issue! *tr

The auto present a failure in transmission in my vehicle that its in a excellent maintenance. A failure at the highway may cause a safety precaution. The Nissan says that its cost is by $5000. I will end my car payment on next june. I saw a lot of persons complaints about the same.
