Once my 2015 Hyundai Accent reached 80K the airbag light came on. I took into the dealership for them to look into and found that the passenger side air bag sensor failed and needed replaced. Cost of new sensor was $1000.00. Did some research on the issue and found that air bag sensors are failing on the passenger side for many Hyundai Accent owners. I believe some reported to this very agency. I plan on having the sensor replaced, however wanted to report the issue and the amount of reports on forums and reports to the NHTSA in hopes that it will be recalled so that future Hyundai Accent owners can be aware of the issue and protect their passengers.

Driving on hwy 6, 6 lanes, heard a low squeal. Haven't had my horn/airbag looked at yet, but I have duct taped the horn down to stop the squeal sound. Glad the airbag didn't deploy! Will have an inspection soon, hope it doesn't cost much to fix! [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tt

My car was stationary in my driveway and off when my driver's side airbags deployed. Nothing touched my car, there was no reason for them to deploy. My car's SRS light is not on. As of now this car is not part of the takata recall; I don't know what inflators are in my car.

1 year after purchasing car, I had a check engine sensor show up. I took it in and a diagnostic test showed an o2 sensor needed to be replaced. I replaced it and the part was defective, so I took it back and they replaced it again, after which it appeared to be fine. Then less than 6 months later, it began to run poorly and would not accelerate properly and seemed to not be getting fuel or oxygen or something. I took it in again and ended up having a catalytic converter put it for over $500. It ran fine for maybe a month after and the check engine light comes on again, it was running poorly again, losing power almost stalling out when pushing accelerator, it smelled like burnt oil. I had oil checked and changed 3 times during the time this all was happening too because of the smell of burn

This is the third time im reporting this defective car. While driving my 2015 Hyundai accent it began to power down the oil light, the battery light and steering light came on the dashboard. This was reported to roadside assistance and my car was towed. Previously this same issue occurred a week to the date that I bought the car and it was towed to the dealership to be serviced. I was told a new transmission was needed that the torque converter locked up. Anyway a new transmission was put in the vechile and I got the vechile back, less than a week later they vehicle is acting up again! And here I am complaining again.

My 2015 Hyundai accent started having problems with oil consumption around 65000 miles. I got it checked regularly and the mechanic noticed it after it was having issues accelerating and losing power then cutting off completely. I had to constantly check oil each week or sooner. A couple months later it started losing power on high way and there was a clicking/ticking coming from engine. I pulled over and cut it off. Then drove it slowly (under 30 mph) to car store down the road to add oil but it was fine. Was able to get back home on back roads going slowly. Mechanic told me there oil consumption was a problem with these types of cars and likely causing engine problems. The whole time I had problems the check engine, battery, and oil light would constantly come on and go off. When they ho

This is the second time I'm reporting this defect. I bought a brand new car on 11/28/2015 less than a week later while driving the normal speed limit the car began to power down and the engine light and battery light came on. I had to put the car in park then restart the car again this happened several times. The car was towed to the dealer to be serviced. I was told a new transmission was needed, the the torque converter locked up and this is what caused the car to power down and engine light and battery light to come on. Anyway a new transmission was put in the car and I was given the car back. The car was in the dealer service shop for a week. Now less than a week later the car is doing it again, powering down while driving, then engine light and battery light comes on. This is a safet

Okay, I'm going to try my best at explaining what I am experiencing. This is my SECOND Hyundai Accent. The first car I had was a 2004 Accent. The second car I have now is a 2015. Both cars have the same exact problem. And I am NOT fixing it. This is definitely a MANUFACTURING ERROR. It's so dangerous too, because my engine could just BLOW UP. Anywhoooo, both cars just BURN OIL LIKE GAS. I repeat, BURN OIL LIKE GAS. I need to check the oil every (at the most) 2 weeks because of how badly oil is just burning up. Also, there is a "Check Engine" code being thrown for something small in the EVAP System. Same cars, 11 years apart. Same problems!? I don't think that is right WHATSOEVER. I have researched ongoing recalls & expired recalls. To my disappointment, I find NOTHING. This is a MAJOR IS

Around the middle of May 2024 I received a recall notice #23V651000. I made an appointment for approximately 2 weeks on June 5. When I arrived I was told the part was never ordered. Coconut Creek Hyundai said they would order the part and call me in a few days. After not hearing for 2 weeks I went back to Hyundai and was told the part hadn’t come in and to go home and they would call me in a few days. After several more weeks I went back and was told the part still hadn’t arrived. It was about a month and a half and still no part. The service manager told me that Hyundai USA was placing a low priority on my model car and manufacturing that part last after all the other models. It’s now 4 months later and I have never received any call from Coconut Creek Hyundai. When this first happened I

I rented this vehicle from alamo car rental, lax, on august 14, 2015 and returned it to alamo lax on september 3, 2015 for the following reason. The front bumper cover spontaneously detached from the body. The auto had been parked overnight in the housing complex parking lot. I discovered it upon walking to the car in the morning. There was no sign of any impact or trauma that might have caused the separation. It was as if two pieces that fit together simply came apart.

1) 6/8/15: when I stopped at a traffic light, the battery light came on and the car stalled. After I turned it off and turned it on again, the problem disappeared. 2) 7/27/15: a similar situation recurred, again after stopping at a traffic light. This time multiple warning lights came on, including engine oil pressure, parking brake/brake fluid and something else. The car stalled again. And again after turning it off and on the problem disappeared and then I could drive. 3) 9/24/15: I was driving at the speed of 60 MPH. Suddenly multiple warning lights came on and I was afraid that the car can stall. Fortunately, it didn't happen. The lights stayed there for a few seconds and then disappeared. But another weird effect occurred: trip a miles, which was about 50, reset and started from 0.
