I purchased the truck new, and it has never experienced the death wobble until dec.25, 2024. The truck now has only 45k miles on it. I was driving on the interstate and hit a rough patch in the road at 70 MPH, and the truck began to vibreate and shaking, my son was in the vehicle behind me and said it looked like the cab was going to fall off it was shaking so bad. I have taken the truck to two rivers Ford dealership to check out the issue. I just wanted to report it as well so there is a record of the issue.

While driving at highway speed experienced death wobble multiple times over several days on a trip. Major safety issue!! Ford needs to accept responsibility for this design flaw. It is putting lives at risk!!
My 2018 Ford f-250 has the "death wobble". I purchased the truck in february 2018 and by december 2018 had driven less than 8,000 miles. While driving at 70 to 75 MPH on an interstate highway, I crossed an expansion joint on a bridge and the front-end started bouncing uncontrollably and the steering wheel shaking violently. The shaking stopped after slowing to under 45 MPH. I pulled to the side of the road and checked to see if a I had flat tire or other issue causing the problem. I called the Ford dealership, from which I purchased it, for resolution of the problem. They indicated it that they believe the problem was the steering dampener. I brought it to the dealership for repair on 12/30/18 and they kept it for a week. They indicated the "damper" would be replaced under tsb 18
This submission is the second notice of "death wobble' on my 2018 Ford f-250 truck. The truck had less then 14,000 miles on it. It occurred on november 9, 2019. I was merging into traffic on an interstate highway at about 65-70 MPH and crossed a bridge joint which caused the front wheels and steering wheel to shake violently. I slowed the vehicle and was almost rear-ended by a 18 wheel semi-truck that couldn't maneuver as it was being passed by a second truck on one side and another merging car on the other. I knew what the had caused the issue as this was the second occurrence in one year. I contacted the Ford dealership on november 11th, 2019. They indicated they are aware of the dampener problem. I had them inspect the truck on november 16th at which time they ordered the pa
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel started to shake significantly. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the steering damper needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.
I have experienced 'death wobble' on multiple occasions. The vehicle has @47,000 on it. It has been in a Ford authorized repair center three times and the issue has still not been fixed. Every time the wobble happens at 65-70 MPH on the highway. It usually happens during a turn while hitting a bump. Twice I have nearly lost all control of the vehicle.
Driving straight on highway 95 in arizona, at 70 with cruise control set. Clear day, no adverse weather or road conditions. Tires equally pressurized at factory settings of 59 front and 55 rear and a completely stock suspension and tire package. Out of nowhere, steering wheel begins to shake violently and the truck is swerving from one lane to the other. I had to slow to nearly 30 to regain control of the vehicle. This would have caused a head on collision under the right circumstances. 2018 f-250 with less than 30k miles.
When hitting any small bump or expansion joint in the road when traveling over 60 MPH on any roadway the vehicle begins shaking violently and is uncontrollable until rapid deceleration below 40 MPH. The problem has occurred over a dozen times in the first 20,000 miles of the vehicles life. It has been in the shop 3 times and is currently scheduled for a 4th service call, however Ford claims no parts are available and no time line has been given for their availability. The truck is currently sitting due to concerns of life threatening safety. This appears to be a long standing problem and I can not fathom why there hasn't been a safety recall on this.
After hitting a rough spot in the highway. Truck starts to shake uncontrollably. Have to pull over and almost stop to make it stop wobbling. Very dangerous problem.
While driving on highway, vehicle hits a bump and front end starts shaking violently. Shaking continues until I slow way down. It is actually difficult to control as steering wheel is shaking so bad. This has happened multiple times but is becoming more frequent.
My 2018 f250 king ranch has started the death wobble at just over 55,000 miles. It has done it at least 5 times now going 60-75mph if I hit a bump or pothole. When it starts, the steering wheel shakes back and forth and the vehicle can not be controlled until I slow to almost a complete stop. The most recent time, I almost hit a guard rail. I have taken the truck back to my local Ford dealership and they agreed to replace the steering damper, but told me the part was on backorder. I ended up getting one from napa and replaced it on my own, I do not feel safe driving this truck. Ford has a problem and refuses to acknowledge it.
During driving at a speed of 73 on the highway I went over a bridge and when the truck went over the joint in the road it sent the truck into a death wobble which cause the truck to veer into the other lane. I was pressing the brakes as hard as I could and it felt like they were not hardly working. It took approximately 1/8 of a mile to slow down below 50 where it regained control. Steering was very difficult and could not keep it in my lane. Truck was bouncing uncontrollably and almost took it off the road.
3 times today while driving my Ford f-250 super duty diesel on the interstate while cruising at about 70-75 MPH....the front end cut loose and I lost all control of the vehicle! This scared the living crap out of me. Lucky that it didn't cause an accident and possible hurt someone. This is the 5th time overall that this has happened. The last 3 of which have been reported to Ford. The people at Ford customer care act ignorant and pretend like they have never heard of this issue before. I did take the truck into the shop. First they told me the fix was one thing. Than they called back and said there was a different problem and the part was back ordered for about 4 weeks. I went back to get the truck and asked the question 'is this thing safe to drive?' the dealership and Ford
I was driving on a divided highway and hit a bump. The front started shaking so violently I had to immediately brake hard and drive off into the median before it stopped. 70 mph. It happened again today, driving about 55 mph. Very scary condition. I am worried about the safety of this vehicle and just learned it is a common occurrence with the F250.
When driving down the road at a consistent speed, a bump causes the front end to shake violently. If going over 70mph, all steering is lost. Brake application when this is occurring makes the problem worse. Once the vehicle is below 25mph the problem fades away. Maintaining your lane when this happens is impossible, and potentially deadly if adjacent to another vehicle on the roadway

The driver's side rear door locks freeze, and once the door is opened it will not stay closed/latched. I have a video of the door not latching shut, and bouncing back open when attempting to close it. This is the same issue as outlined in Customer Satisfaction Program 18N03; however, the dealer and Ford Corporate advised my VIN is not included on the recall for this issue. When the door lock is frozen and the door will not shut, the automatic running board on the driver's side will not close and the light on the bottom of the driver's mirror and inside the vehicle stays on. If you hold the door shut with your hand or put a ratchet strap on it to hold it in place, the running board closes and the lights go off. This is unsafe for passengers of the rear of the vehicle as the door will n

The backup camera on my f250 is not clear and not visible I have been in many close calls of hitting objects because of this. Been trying to get issue fixed for months, Ford dealerships say they do not have parts but I can go online and have the ability to order parts.

While towing at speeds above 55-60 MPH the vehicle starts to go through a harmonics type of vibration shaking the entire driver's compartment , steering wheel and dash. This vibration continues regardless if the vehicle speed is increased and doesn't stop until the speed is lowered below 55-60 MPH.
