premature failure of clutch components: throwout bearing, clutch slave cylinder (which doubles as master brake cylinder). This type of failure, particularly when vehicle is in motion, will prevent the ability to change gears, as well as potential for brake failure if loss of fluid is great enough. This is a clear and obvious road hazard and the failure occurs within or just outside of factory warranty period and Toyota corp has been unwilling to pay for repairs on this particular failure. This system will fail without warning and there's no indication as to when this part will fail
Clutch throwout bearing went out at 69,000. Clutch pedal began getting stuck half way through pedal travel, then got stuck to floor. Lost all clutch operation.
I purchased my 2019 corolla hatch manual new. Before even 9000 miles I started having transmission issues. I could not shift into first when the car was cold. It was like hitting a wall. I had to cycle through all the other gears before it would go back into first. I took it to Toyota. They were unable to replicate the issue. It happened so sporadically I asked the technician what would happen if I had transmission issues in the future since they were unable to witness the problem. He assured me that the issues were documented, and it would not be a problem at all. Now at 30000 I am having serious issues. The clutch is engaging late, it is chattering in first and second and there are metallic fragments in my transmission fluid. The entire transmission and clutch assembly is going to have

As I was driving my check engine light turned and also another message saying “Drive-Start control malfunction”. A few second after another light came one showing “Engine coolant Temp high. On 11/24/24 I experienced this mechanical failure as I was driving. I was driving behind another car, where my car suddenly lost power and randomly accelerated almost causing me to crash behind the car in front of me. Thankfully I had time to press on the brakes to prevent me from crashing. I also did some research to see if other drivers also experienced this fault and seems that a lot of people with these Toyota Corolla and RAV4 models. I also found that an active lawsuit is ongoing against Toyota regarding this same issue. This definitely should be something that needs to be recalled as it puts o

rattle in transmission. Car hesitates to accelerate randomly leading to unpredictable acceleration sometimes. Transmission is failing.
No warning lamps, and no accident yet; however, I believe if I continue driving it without repair, it is a safety risk. The sound I can hear coming from CVT torque converter, impeller blades is getting louder the more I drive them vehicle. This was confirmed by a transmission service center (see photo) who identified a toyota recall J17/J07 (NHTSA recall campaign 18V901000), which lists the 2019 Toyota Corolla hatchback with the same CVT as my vehicle. When I contacted Toyota (see screenshot), I was told I would be responsible for the repair because there's no recall associated with my vehicle VIN pertaining to CVT torque converter.
All 2019-2022 Toyota Corolla 6 Speed Manual Transmission cars are affected. The slave cylinder is a defective part that fails prematurely anywhere between the 20,000-70,000 mile range. The slave cylinder on this car is made out of plastic and is located inside of the transmission, when the slave cylinder fails, it leaks brake fluid all over causing the car to lock into gear and not be able to shift which is a major safety risk when there is no signs of failure. My car locked up in the middle of a busy highway and had to be pushed off the side of the road. Not only is this a safety risk, but since the part is located inside of the transmission, which is not normal, it leaks brake fluid all over the clutch and flywheel, which will all need replacement. The dealership quotes between 4-5 thou

2 years ago, I took my vehicle to the dealership that I bought it from, because I was given notice that there was a recall to the fuel injector system, and my scheduled maintenance was due. The dealership performed the maintenance and fixed the recall, and I drove the car home. The very next day I started the car and noticed that it took 2 key turns to start and didn't think too much about it. Since then, I've put 5000 more miles on the car so the odometer now says 23000 miles. Today I take my vehicle in for maintenance because I want to resolve the 2 key turn issue, and now the dealership says that my fuel injector is broken and I need to pay for the part and labor to replace. I don't understand how the fuel injector being physically damaged is something that I as the customer could have
I started my car and put it in reverse, as I backed out of the driveway the car seized in the middle of the city street I was backing onto and I could not get it to move no matter what I did. A couple of dashboard lights came on, I wasn't able to shift or get out of the way of oncoming traffic. One of the lights that came on had an exclamation point. My steering wheel would not move either. I shut the car off and restarted it, it ran after that. I have since been very wary about driving because I'm afraid I'm going to be driving and it'll just stop working again.
Because Toyota will not enable entune 3.0 to work with google maps I feel that they are deliberately endangering my safety. I now have to use my phone to look up addresses instead of a hands-free option. Their scout GPS maps is frequently wrong and does not provide the navigation I need on a daily use basis.
CVT TRANSMISSION is hesitating after first gear, going over 40mph and going up hills. I was told by Toyota that it would cost $8,200 to fix/REPLACE. The car has 125,000 miles on it. THAT Shouldn't happen. Since the Corolla Hatchbacks were recalled that year, why weren't ALL of the corollas recalled. Reading on-line, I see I am not alone. This is wrong. And I still have about $2K owed on it.
I drove my car to get gas on november 24, 2019. After I got full tank of gas, I cannot start the engine. The engine would make a noice like coughing, and whole car would shake, all the electric (lights, meter, music) would be on, but the engine would go back to 'dead'. On the display screen, it would show the 'battery' warning icon. I immediately tried jumpstart, but I still cannot start my vehicle so it's not simply a batteries problem. (actually, I think the battery itself has no problem.) the dealership was not in service on sunday, so I have to paid to get my car towed at the night- drop. Before the guy towed my vehicle away, he tried to start my vehicle again and it cannot be start. On monday morning the dealership examine in the vehicle but they claim they found nothing wrong. Al

I believe the break booster on my 2019 Toyota Corolla is defective. This caused my stopping distance to increase significantly, making it difficult to control my vehicle and putting myself and other drivers at risk. There were no warning lamps or messages or other symptoms prior to the start of the issue on October 10, 2025. I quickly took my car to a local mechanic the next day who said I had an issue with my brake booster. To make sure this was the issue I followed up and went to a Toyota dealership for a diagnostic. They initially told me that "all brake systems components were functioning normally at this time" and that all I need to do was to change the break fluid. I did this, but the problem persisted. I then returned to the Toyota dealership for a second diagnostic. This time they

1. Cruise Control 2. Unknown 3. No 4. No 5. No I first reported this to the dealership shortly after I purchased the vehicle. While driving with the cruise control on the rpms begin to jump to 5000 all on it's own but the car isn't speeding up when it happens. I know it's wearing the engine down every time it happens. It happens when I'm driving on flat freeways as well as when driving down hills. The dealership dismissed what I was telling them, but I know there's something not functioning properly and would like it further looked into.

My daughter was involved in an accident on 11/16/2019 @ 11:57am and she rear ended another vehicle going 40 miles per hour. The cars forward collision nor did the crash imminent braking system work. The seat belts did not lock up nor did the air bags deploy causing her to hit the dash board and the passenger to hit her head on the dash board. She has bruised ribs, bruised sternum, lumbar strain etc. Thankfully this did not result in something worse. However, this should be a concern since there is an ongoing investigation regarding the malfunction of the air bags not deploying,

After the recall repair was completed, the vehicle was driven to a gas station and the vehicle failed to restart with the previous warning lights being illuminated. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 128,000.
