On December 18, 2023 I started my vehicle for the day when I noticed the low oil pressure warning come on and off very fast, didn’t think anything of it because it didn’t do it the rest of the day. The next day the same thing happened, very fast flicker of the warning so I made an appointment with the dealer to have it checked out. December 20, 2024 it stayed on longer this time and the red oil indicator came on as well. Dropped it off at the dealer on December 21, 2023 & after testing the issue was the oil pump failing and the vehicle needed an engine replacement at 59,294 miles. The dealer stated the car had no oil pressure, metal flakes in the oil, damage to cam caps and heat scoring. Luckily it was covered under the powertrain warranty or it would have been over $6000 to have repaired.

Our company has purchased 8- 2018-2022 Ford EcoSports similar to the VIN on this complaint. 5 of the 8 purchased have required engine replacement due to oil pressure related issues. One had just 20k miles, one had mid 40K miles, one had 52K miles and another 68k miles. And we had another today with just 58K miles. This seems to be a chronic issue with these engines.

At 56k miles, it failed to start, had it towed to the dealership july 2nd. Told it was the engine and was under warranty and ford would send a new short block with an eta of 7-10 days. It’s been 5, going in 6 months now and no engine. They gave me a loaner but today asked for it back and they don’t have another loaner for me, so I’m on foot now and have to work. 5 going on 6 months is a crazy long time to wait

Driving on the interstate the low oil pressure light came on no check engine lights or anything . The oil pump is belt driven aka wet belt and the rubber teeth come off stopping up the oil pump and causing it not to work properly . With the rubber pieces going into the motor the rubber melts causing issues with the pistons and engine block. The Ford dealership recommends not replacing just the oil pump because of all the other issues the rubber belt causes because it melts inside the engine . So I am left with no choice but to replace the engine at a cost of 5,000.00. Why there hasn't been a recall is questionable . I am in the process of getting said motor replaced but does that mean every 2 years it will have same issues ?

While on a 4 hour trip, after about two hours, the car suddenly started alerting "low engine oil pressure". I keep my car maintained, but thought perhaps there was a leak. I went got my oil changed, and still the alert was present. I reduced my speed to get to my closest relative. While getting off the interstate, the brakes malfunctioned. My car is a ford ecosport ecoboost. The ford dealership is saying the engine and the turbo have to be replaced. Once I researched online, I saw that I was not the only person this happened to. I could have died when those brakes malfunctioned. By the grace of God I made to my relative's and they towed my car from there.

The failure involves the engine/powertrain system, specifically the engine oil pressure system, resulting in loss of engine power and a subsequent loss of effective braking assistance. The vehicle displayed a low engine oil pressure warning and a “powertrain system fault” message prior to the loss of braking effectiveness. The vehicle is currently not being driven and is available for inspection upon request. The engine was previously replaced in April 2025 as part of a recall-related interim remedy following an engine failure, yet the same symptoms have since reoccurred. My safety and the safety of others were placed at immediate and severe risk. On December 26, 2025, while driving at highway speed in heavy rain, the vehicle rapidly decelerated from approximately 79 mph to 60 mph, creati
I was driving on Interstate 10 between Casa Grande and Tucson at around 81 mph, and pushed on the accelerator a bit more to get in front of a car when the warning indicator turned on. It said "Low Engine Oil Pressure". Immediately the car lost all acceleration while I was in the left lane. I had to immediately turn on my hazard lights and get to the right lane, while slowly losing speed. I did not feel safe pulling onto the shoulder and there was an exit about a mile away from where it all started so we essentially were cruising, losing speed, to the exit. We pulled into a gas station parking lot while we figured what was going on. This happened while I was driving in the left lane of a 3 lane interstate with a speed limit of 75mph. I believe that our safety was put into risk because of t
I was on the highway when my car started to light up on the dashboard and the car started to slow down and wouldn’t move. Took it to ford and they had to replace the whole engine but now even after the replacement the car is slow, doesn’t heat up and shakes.
Driving around town and the low oil pressure warning come on the dash and the vehicle had loss of power. The vehicle was parked the oil was full and oil changed was done 2 weeks earlier. No the vehicle sounds load.
Oil Pressure loss, possible belt failure.
Lost power to my car. Took it to get look at and they told me oil pump pressure belt quit working and caused major engine problems. It tore up the engine as well as the turbo and now I need awhole new engine. I am now paying for a car that I can't drive. Ford told me they can't help me because my warranty just ran out.

Tl* the contact owns a 2020 Ford ecosport. The contact stated that while driving or while in reverse, the brake pedal was depressed and the contact heard an abnormal sound. The failure recurred twice. The vehicle was taken to caguas expressway motors, caguas, 00725, puerto rico and was informed that the brake drum and plate needed to be adjusted. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and was informed that unknown repairs to the brakes were being performed. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacture was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 8,600.
The Brake system emits a squeaking, moan/groan sound when backing up. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The concern was that any sound not usual to the operation of the vehicle is a warning of a potential problem. No warning lights appeared. This problem was inspected, confirmed/diagnosed at a Ford dealer in Huntington, WV. The problem was supposed to be remedied with the replacement of the rear braking system(pads, rotors. and slides). The vehicle had 19,736 miles on it but the dealer said it was not a warranty item and charged $600.00 for the repair. The problem was not corrected. The manufacturer was contacted. A Ford representative contacted the dealer and was convinced by the dealer that nothing could be done to remedy this condition. Hence it still poses a threa

My husband was driving when both the oil light and the engine light came on. He lost power. Thankfully he was on a road with no traffic. The oil pump is not working. The engine needs to be replaced only after 3 years. Took it to the dealership, they told him that the engine would need to be replaced. He was then told he could drive it back home, he was in a different county than what we live. We took it to a non dealership shop and they told us the same thing. Called Ford, they told me there was nothing that they could do. I have $12,549 left to pay so a trade in is out of the question. Please help
