The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle started losing automotive power and stalled. The contact frantically maneuvered the vehicle across three lanes of highway traffic to get to the right shoulder and park the vehicle. During the failure, the check engine warning light and several other unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The contact had previously received a letter regarding NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 48,301.
I brought my 2024 Sierra in for its L87 recall. It passed. Two weeks later I had to bring it in for check engine light. They reset the system under a TSB that is known to occur with the l87 recall. Not a total of 300 miles of passing the recall I was driving and the engine started making a horrible noise and I started experiencing loss of power. I managed to get the vehicle safely parked. The dealer pulled the oil filter and said it had 100% metal contamination in the oil. The filter looked like a glitter bomb went off. It took 3 weeks, they replaced the engine with a remanufactured engine even though I told them new only. They also had to replace the radiator as it was polluted with metal.
12/7/2025 8:48 AM Engine lost propulsion while driving 35mph enroute to residence. The engine cut off and at the same time we saw a cloud of blue smoke trailing the vehicle. The engine refired and propulsion resumed. I immediately looked at the dash display for an indicator light resulting from the lack of propulsion. There were no unusual indicator lights or messages but the tachometer needle dropped about an inch and went back up again rapidly. The engine had resumed running. This loss of propulsion and resumption occurred two more times while my foot was off the accelerator. After the third incident the vehicle seemed to be running normally. I stated we had only about two miles to get home and I hope we make it. The next day I called DeLuz service department to notify them of the incid
My truck completely stalled and had to be restarted. I took it to the dealership to have it resolved. They wouldn’t look at the truck without a recall notice. Now there is a recall notice for my exact issue. I took it to be repaired by them but now they are saying that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle and are refusing to do anything about it stalling. They specifically said that I will have to stall and potentially get in a car wreck before they will repair the damaged engine. I have been very disappointed in this entire situation and would like to avoid driving a car that may end up crashing due to a preventable problem.
While driving my 2024 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate on the highway, the engine suddenly failed without warning. The truck shut off completely while I was traveling at highway speed. I was fortunate to be able to safely maneuver to the shoulder, but the sudden loss of power created a serious risk of a collision with surrounding traffic. The failure appears to involve the engine or engine control system. The vehicle engine is currently available for inspection upon request. Prior to the incident, there were no warning lights, messages, or unusual symptoms. The shutdown occurred abruptly with no prior indication of a problem. This vehicle previously received the NS25249400 safety recall repair on August 12, 2025, and it reportedly passed all required checks at that time.
https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2025/RCRIT-25V274-6343.pdf Safety Recall N252494001 L87 Engine Loss of Propulsion I am currently writing due to my vehicle falling under the guidelines of this recall but it is not listed in the recalls. I have been in contacts with GM directly as they say because it is not listed on NHTSA as a saftey recall they will not cover the cost. I am writing to try to get this listed as I currently can not get an oil change at any location but a GM dealer because it is listed in the systems.
On Dec 4, 2025, my wife was driving at night on a Texas road going 75mph. Her truck died while driving and the truck shifted into neutral and computer said to restart. When she did, all electrical power was lost including headlights while traveling at 75mph at night. Vehicle eventually was started after she got to the side of the road. A check engine light was present. She made it to her destination with no further problems. Vehicle was taken to the dealership the next day. They said that she may have catastrophic engine failure that is common on the 6.2 liter GM motors.
While traveling on highway, engine suddenly just stopped. Unable to restart engine and had to coast to side of road with high speed vehicles almost hitting us several times. Towed to dealership and told metal found in oil filter. Told engine had to be replaced. Vehicle was inspected 3 weeks before by dealership and told everything was fine.

I purchased my 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 on July 4, 2024. Shortly after purchase, the vehicle began experiencing recurring electrical and electronic malfunctions affecting multiple safety and driver-assistance systems. These issues include power mirrors not consistently folding when the vehicle is locked, the digital speed (MPH) intermittently not displaying on the dashboard, driver seat memory not always setting upon entry, and blind spot warning indicators activating while driving when no vehicles or objects are present. More critically, the rear parking assist sensors do not function consistently and often fail to alert before contact with an object. I have backed into objects on multiple occasions before the sensors activated or without any warning, creating a safety risk while reversing.
On 2 occasions now my tailgate has opened on its own. The first incident happened sometime after I got home from work for the night, when I went to leave in the AM my tailgate was resting on the garage door and had been scratched. The second time it happened I didn’t notice it while driving but when I went to close the garage door I looked back and saw the gate was open and partially sticking out of the garage. Nothing happened this time to put anyone at risk however there is damage to the truck and if it happened while hauling something could have come out and hurt someone or damage property. I have not brought it to a service center yet. No warning
Truck thinks I’m about to run into something and slams on its brakes. Last time it sent my sister to the hospital to get 6 staples in her head. Digital cluster goes on and off as well as the infotainment center. Transmission bangs and shifts horribly. 900 miles on the truck with a check engine light and transmission warning.
Every winter when the temps dip into single digits something on the truck freezes and causes a major malfunction. This winter (2025) is the second time I’ve had a problem with the truck freezing up and leaving me in “limp mode”. Last year the same thing happened. The def sensors freeze up and the heater shorts out leaving me stranded in my $70,000 truck. I now have 34miles remaining until my truck is limited to 55mph. This is a serious problem.

I am writing to express my significant concerns regarding the recurring issues with my 2024 Denali 6.2, which has been subject to multiple service visits since reaching 7,000 miles. Despite these visits, the underlying problem remains undiagnosed and reoccurs shortly after I retrieve the vehicle. Following the second oil change, the engine developed a persistent ticking noise. Over the past 13 month, I have invested over $200,000 with your dealership in the past 5 years!. My truck was recently held for two weeks for service. After I lodged a complaint, the General Manager suggested I seek service elsewhere. This recommendation was made after I responded to an email stating that, following the completion of repairs to the headliner, third brake light, and brakes/rotors, I would no longer b
The reverse or backup lights do not properly illuminate, as the angle does not allow for viewing dangers behind at night. The lights are angled to aim way too high, and the lights are aealed. No way to adjuat. An adult standing just three to five feet behind truck, the lights illuminate at chest level, meaning a small child could not be seen at all, even with the rear view camera. Speaking of the camera, it not longer displays low light situations. People are going to be injured or killed because of these lights, or lack thereof of. On researching, this is a known defect since GMC went to LED tailings in the 2024 1500. This problem was not in my 2024 3500 as they use different lights. This is a dangerous situation.
The backup camera in the dark on this vehicle is unusable. Someone will eventually run someone over. I have added brighter lights everywhere on the back of the vehicle and the camera is still useless at night. The dealer told me it looked fine to them (they checked it in a lit garage). There are hundreds of complaints across all forums.

As I was driving on the highway the upper top moulding from the grill came off causing scratches to the hood. This is dangerous if it flies off into the windshield. This has been an issue for GMC.
I was driving down the highway at 65-70mph and the top part of the grill flew off, causing scratches to the wind shield. There’s has been a recall on this for 2022 GMC 1500 Sierra’s but I am driving a 2024 and the issue is still the same.

My truck braked for a vehicle that was parked on the side of the road. This vehicle was not in my lane or hazardous in any way. I was traveling at highway speed 55 mph and truck braked to 30 mph approximately with no pre warning this has not happened before or after. The truck has about 26k on it.
