I was driving my 2005 terraza with about 79,000 miles on dry, smooth city streets when suddenly the car started braking on one side and, I believe, tried to control the steering. This happened three times on three different streets on the same trip across town. Each time with the message "stability control active" . I drive these roads regularly and there was no reason for this to happen. I was driving slowly when at the first occurrence and was able to get the car stopped. The second time I was probably around 40 MPH and because I was firmly gripping the wheel with little traffic I was able to get the van onto the shoulder and stopped. By the third time I was probably under 20 MPH and terrified. I was again able to get the car stopped safely. I parked it and turned it off. It ha

Bought a 2005 Buick terreza in sept. 2009 39,500 mi. Approximately 31 days after purchase stability control sensor on drivers side front went bad. Making the whole front end lock up. Galpin Ford who we bought Buick from paid for lamb Chevrolet to fix the sensor Buick had 42,000. On it when went out. 30 days later same incident happened my front end locked up and on dash said stability control active stabilize stability system took back to lamb Chevrolet and at that time they said wiring was faulty making sensor go out again so they rewired the Buick this time plus replaced sensor for 2nd time. 7 months later once again front end locksup and same msg. Heating and air conditioning system. I was getting very little heat and lots of cold air so I took it to the dealer to have it fixed. They said there was a broken door actuator and the computer module needed to be replaced. Very expensive. So they fixed the door so it would stay closed and block cold air. I believe they disconnected the module as well. So, now I have a little heat, but no air conditioning. The car is in very good condition and I have never had anything happen before in any car, even very old ones! I believe the parts must have been defective in order to fail. I live in northern new england and I need heat!

After making several turns to exit a parking lot I stopped at a stop sign at an exit, proceeded to cross westbound traffic and as I neared the median to turn onto the east bound lanes my steering wheel became locked with the car in motion. I headed straight through the median across one lane of east bound traffic and partially through the second east bound lane. Heading straight toward a construction site I gave the wheel a turn to the left as hard as I could. Key ring flew into the window, regained control of vehicle. Engine cut out. Coasted to a safe place and pulled aside. Discovered the key was broken in ignition and another car key was bent approximately 40 degrees. Noticed the plastic on the steering column around my cruise lever was damaged. Realized another key became

Dt*: the contact stated the headlights flickered when the vehicle was driven 0-60 MPH. When the vehicle was taken to the sales/service dealer, the problem could not be recreated. The voltage regulator was replaced, but the problem continued. The lights failed to remain bright enough to see well at night. The computer programming was reflashed. The vehicle also had an ongoing issue with the starter, sliding door opening by itself when the vehicle was parked or while idling in park. On one occasion, the child passenger fell out of the vehicle when the door opened. There were no injuries sustained. There was a problem with the steering which resulted in the contact side swiping a mailbox post on the side of the road. At a later date when the vehicle was parked in the garage, the vehi

I own a 2005 Buick terraza. Bought the vehicle in july of 2005 at around 8000 miles noticed a vibration in the steering wheel ,took it to the dealer and they said the tires needed to be re-balanced. After I left dealership still noticed the vehicle shaking. Went back to the dealership front tires are now going bald and they state it was my fault for not rotating at 5,000 miles. So they do it for me rebalance tires and say it is okay. After 4 times of going back to dealership for the vibration they say there is nothing they can do about it. So I am supposed to live with this vibration when driving at speeds of 65-70. This is a big safety issue since this will just lead to more problems down the road. The dealer points the finger to Buick , Buick points the finger back to the dealership and

I was involved in an accident and had front end damage. The air bag sensor and light are on indicating that the air bag deployed; however, it did not. We have also experienced electrical problems as well with the van. The sliding door chime comes on randomly when I we are driving. Work had to be done previously on the wiring. Occasionally I hear rattling noises from the front end of the vehicle when I drive. The van also shakes excessively when approaching speeds over 45-50 miles per hour when I put on the brakes. *tr

During cruise on highway (I-95 in florida) while on vacation the left rear power sliding door became unlatched and warning chimes sounded repeatedly and interior lights illuminated, this occurred several times again on this trip there was an investigation by the NHTSA in 2008 report #ea07019 which determined no defect was present which would require a recall. I beg to differ with that assessment there most certainly is a problem here, gm issued tsb #07-08-007 and #07-08-007 a-d which tells dealerships how to repair this problem. Please look into this matter again it is very unsettling to have my kids riding in the rear and having a door unlatch at highway speeds thank you for your time and consideration. *tr

Dt: the contact stated while driving all of the lights dimmed. The fan motor lost power. This happened eight times on a ten mile drive. The vehicle has been to the dealership , and they replaced multiple components, but the problem got worse. The engineers for the manufacturer sent the service department 40 tests to run on the vehicle to diagnose the problem, but nothing was found. The zone manager for the manufacturer stated they were aware of the problem, but did not deem it a safety hazard. The service manager at the dealership test drove another vehicle on the lot and found it had the same defect. In addition, upon purchase, the rear door had to be adjusted. The contact was unable to shut the door, it was too loose. Also, the vehicle had a problem with the leveling system

Dt: the contact tried to using the horn but most of the time could not get it to blow. Even when pressing hard on the horn it would not work. One must hit it correctly in order to get it to work properly. He has taken the vehicle to the dealer, who agreed it took a lot of force for the horn to work. The dealer had a representative look at the horn. The representative was doubtful that GMC would fix the horn. He stated it was a sensor that failed, it send a message to the steering wheel, and it was sending wrong information. When pressing the accelerator the brakes would clamp down and slow down the vehicle. This would cause the vehicle to stop while in motion to continue on. The contact stated the headlights brighten and dim on their own. The dealer replaced the alternator

Where to start! The horn is very hard to work, the power sliding passenger door opens randomly and has been worked on countless times, there are vibrations in the floor, the brakes have been worked on countless times: front rotors turned twice and replaced once, rear brakes turned twice. Interior and exterior lights randomly and constantly dim and brighten. Tie rods replaced and all this with only 20000 on it! I have had this vehicle in the dealership for all problems and I guess this is as good as it gets with Buick! *jb

At approx. 15,000 miles the brakes squeal or chirp almost every time the brakes are applied. The consequences of this has left embarrassment as well as worry as to weather the brakes are going to give out. Also have noticed a slight fade and increased braking distance or having to push harder to stop the vehicle. The rotors have been turned twice, stop squeal was applied to the pads as well as sanding the edges of the pads and nothing has fixed the problem. *nm
