I currently own a 2005 Chevy trailblazer. Over the past year I have a variety electrical problems with my blazer. In the january of 2010 I had to replaced by ac / heater as it simply went out. When the vehicle was fixed a certified mechanic he showed us the wiring harness that had simply malfunctioned and melted all of the wires together. Now in the past three months my gas gauge has stopped working, indicating that it is low on fuel or empty and my speedometer is no longer functioning. I am very worried about the electrical problems and the risk of a potential hazards to myself and my family. *tr
The speedometer in my 2005 Chevy trailblazer has broken and I only have 45,000 miles on my vehicle. I heard about a recall or getting assistance from gm to replace but learned it is only for tahoe's, suburban's and trucks. I don't feel that is fair they won't help me and that a speedometer should not wear out that quickly. Replacement cost can be $600 - $800. *tr
The headlights/dash lights started flickering. The battery voltage meter was jumping back and forth. The headlights would go out and then come back on. I was not able to duplicate this problem. There were no codes stored in the computer from the incident. It has happened since 11/23/05 at least twice. *jb
For several years the low beam headlights would go off and on intermittently. Now, they are mostly off which means I cannot drive my vehicle at night anymore unless I want to blind people or get stopped. I have changed headlamps, relays and fuses to no avail. Now, I see that many others with the same make and model SUV have been having the same issue but no recalls have been issued for this year model. This is a major safety issue when we have to drive with the high beams on and when the lights go off unexpectedly. If you will issue a recall for one year model having a particular issue, why would you not do the same with all year models having the same issue? Come on Chevrolet and NHTSA, let's get this problem solved to save some lives. It is very scary to be driving and have your headlig
I am experiencing all issues identified with recall due to door switch sensor being defective. Intermittent working of door locks not locking or locking and won't unlock . Windows won't work sometimes, and sometimes they will . Lights won't shut off in interior, or won't go on . Delay feature where radio , and other features stay on after turning ignition off , and still in vehicle won't work , and sometimes do work . These things happen when vehicle is either moving, or not moving in park . They happen both city driving, and highway as well. All of these crazy electrical problems began several months ago, and when in the vehicle and I am in park, and shut off ignition, and the doors won't unlock, the key fob won't work to unlock doors either, and I am trapped inside vehicle until someone
My headlights and dash lights flicker while driving. Also while driving my lights will dim and the blower for heat & a/c will slow and then pick up to normal speed again. It also revs by itself, even in park and will go forward slightly when it does surge. These problems only started after the alternator was replaced. I think it is a safety hazard to have lights flickering and engine surges. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet trailblazer. While driving approximately 5 MPH, the contact noticed that the speedometer did not indicate the correct speed. Other components on the instrument cluster were also not functioning properly. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated that the instrument cluster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the problem occurred again. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000 and the current mileage was approximately 114,000.

The gas gauge on my 2005 trailblazer points to empty even with a full tank of gas. There is no warning indicator that the gas gauge is not working. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet trailblazer. Two fuel lines were leaking fuel. This failure could cause a fire within the fuel tank. The vehicle was repaired at a local repair facility. The failure mileage was 47,000. Updated 01/29/10.*lj both fuel lines had multiple pin hole leaks. Fuel was leaking near the engine and catalytic converter. Both areas where extreme heat was prevalent. The consumer stated the lines should have been made of stainless steel. Updated 01/29/10.*jb
The fuel gauge on my 2005 trailblazer stopped reading correctly and has stopped working completely. I use the trip mileage to determine how much fuel I have in my tank. I have run out of gas several times since them because this is not the most accurate method. I have read on several Chevy forums that this is a common occurrence on the trailblazer yet gm refuses to issue a recall on the faulty product. What else can be done aside from filing more complaints??? *kb

Low beam headlights have flashed on multiple occasions in the past. On the night of october 2, 2014, while driving home with my entire family in the car, the low beam headlights went out completely. I turned on my fog lamps to get home. I checked all fuses and relays and there were no problems. I also took it to a mechanic, who secured a loose ground wire. This did not help. Then I heard that gm was doing a recall for this exact problem, but it is for models 2006-2007, and mine is a 2005. They will not honor the recall on my vehicle. I am afraid to take my vehicle anywhere at night or in the rain. I do not feel I should have to pay for the repair when they know it is an issue. *tr
Headlights flicker and then go out leaving no daytime running lights or headlights for night, rain or snowy conditions. It is not possible to fix without taking in, 2 local garages immediately knew what the problem was and didn't even have to order the parts. *tr

The oil level indicator in the dash panel is no longer functioning. A call to the dealer where car was purchased confirms that this is part of an "instrument cluster" that also controls the speedometer, and that it will probably malfunction as well.
