We purchased a 2005 Chevy uplander when it was 1 yr old with 10,000 miles on it directly from a Chevy dealer. One month later, the rear passenger sliding door started automatically reopening it after both the shut buttons by the driver seat and the button on the door itself were pushed to close. This van has now been back to the Chevy dealer 6 times for this problem within the 7 months we own it. The dealer has made it pretty clear to us that they can not find or fix the problem. They have now taken the stand of, "let's see if it works this time". I have a toddler and I am scared to drive this car. The door opens by itself. Also - there is not a safety mechanism on the door to reopen if something, like my daughter's arm or leg get in the way. I have parked the car, and gone into a store

The rear sliding door on the drivers side opens when vehicle is parked and engine is off. It also opens when I enter the drivers side as I close the drivers door. Yesterday it opened about 4 times within seconds before I finally got it to stop. If I leave the vehicle in the garage unlocked it will open sometime later after I have gone into the house. The only way I can keep it from opening is to make sure it is locked. I am afraid it is going to open while I am in motion. *tr

One day I got into my vehicle and the driver side rear sliding door wouldn't latch all of the way. After about 10 attempts to get the door to latch completely, it finally did. But while on the road, I heard the warning sound letting me know that my driver side rear sliding door was ajar. The door didn't completely open, but was cracked as I was driving. I had taken my vehicle to get another repair done under warranty and I asked them if they could fix the sliding door problem as well. They had decided that it was the seals and replaced all of them, but the problem has occurred since then and now my warranty has expired and I don't know why this is still occurring. *tr

My uplander van pops, grinds and has a jerking motion. Then the service stability system light comes on and the traction control off light comes on. This has happened 4 times. The dealer has replaced the ebcm system twice and has re-tested it. Last night (11-12-06) it failed again. My headlights also strobe. They go dim and bright. I've asked for repairs on this several times and it has not been resolved. *jb

Dt: the contact stated the strap on the second row seat will not allow the seat to move forward. The concern was that the seat will not move forward to allow children /younger occupants to get out of the vehicle. While she was outside of the vehicle she could access the strap, but it will not move the seat forward from this position. The manufacturer stated this was the design feature of the seat. *ak

The automatic doors on our 2005 Chevy uplander open by themselves, the alarms go off saying they are not shut, and if the driver's side rear door is opened, it takes about a half hour to get it to shut again. *tr

Driving the vehicle along the interstate at 65 MPH at night, the ignition switch run position rotated to off and the engine and all headlights, dash, etc, shutdown along with the power steering and power brakes. The incident has just started happening and 340,000 miles on it. Only way to get rolling is to put the auto trans lever to neutral and twist the ignition key to crank position and let key settle to run position. The ignition switch itself has a spring detent and it sets in a pocket at run. So this switch has a spring that over time weakens and allows the whole key cylinder ans switch to drop out of run and shut off the electrical. Solution was to put in a new switch or just use a single key instead of a full set of keys hanging from the key slot.. The full replacement of the swi

I have had the Chevrolet uplander in for repair on a rear passenger door that keeps malfunctioning. They have repaired it on several occasions but it is know out of manufacturing warranty. The door has been repaired to the best of gmac ability they can not figure out the problem but the door now will fall shut when on a downhill incline regardless if anyone is in the door. They are suppose to be child safety to keep the door from closing on a child but the door will not stay open when parked a downhill grade. I am really scared the door could close on my children but they tell me that they have repaired it and don't know what is causing the difficulty in the door. I was at a christmas party when the door malfunction and fell shut on me. I am a foster parent in the state of kentucky a

I have a 2005 Chevy uplander. Both rear sliding doors like to reopen by themselves. We bought the van used in february 2006. The first time it started happening was march of 2006. We finally took the van in june of 2006 to see what was going on. The dealership could not seem to figure it out. We had it in a few more times and they finally told us that the driver side sliding door latch and lock needed to be replaced. That did not fix the problem. We took it in a couple of more times and still they could not find anything. I contacted gm and was told to take it back to the dealership again to see if the seals were getting in the way. Again, nothing. Gm then told me to take it to another dealership for a second opinion. That dealership could not figure it out. Gm them told me that they could

I was hearing about the recent recall actions about Chevy suvs with wiper blades. But, I have had an issue where my wiper would stop in the middle of the windshield. My vehicle was not in the recall, but, just made me think, and I wanted to share. I purchased a new arm from gm at my local dealer in august of 2018. So, I think that I am ok.

My van hesitates between 2 and 3 RPM's. Especially going up a hill, the engine light will blink for a few seconds. Then engine light continues to stay on..the drivers side door is malfunctioning.. Wheel bearing in the rear need replacement.. And there does appear to be an electrical issue.. Radio skips, interior lights don't work at all.. The drivers side seat doesn't heat. Theres barely any heat even when gauge reads the engine is normally warm..

Me, my husband and my mother were on the turnpike going to the airport about 3 hrs from our home...we were half way there and my husband said to us..I think the throttle cable or something broke I just heard something snap and the gas pedal is stuck...and I don't have my foot on the gas pedal...I asked him what we were going to do..he told me that if he couldn't somehow lift the pedal with his foot he would have to put the car in neutral and we would try to slow down and hopefully we don't wreck...he was able to lift the gas pedal...he said that he hoped he could control it by doing that the rest of the way to the airport...my husband turned on the cruise control to help and had to constantly use his foot to pull up on the gas pedal when we got off the turnpike to the airport and then 3 hr

Dt*: the contact stated while driving various speeds, the front suspension pulled to the left and right side without warning. The vehicle's front suspension was inspected by the dealer who determined a front alignment was needed. Afterwards, the problem persisted, and the vehicle was returned to the dealer, who determined all four tires were worn and needed to be replaced. The tires were continental p225/60r17. Additionally, the dash instrument cluster panel lights and headlights flickered on and off while the vehicle was at an idle. The vehicle was inspected by the dealer, who determined the sensor for the exterior lights needed to be replaced. After replacement of the tires and lighting sensors, the problems persisted. The manufacturer was alerted.

There are 4 recalls listed on this site for my vehicle. I am currently having these listed problems with my vehicle. I called gm and they refuse to pay for these repairs due to "my vehicle is out of warranty". I told them that a warranty has nothing to do with a recall and they agreed! However, gm will not cover these repairs! I called the phone number given on this site and was told there are no recalls........ I will never purchase a gm vehicle and I will expose them every way possible. This is completely unacceptable! *tr
