My 2005 Dodge durango limited (hemi) spews about 1 quart of gas out of the filler tube every time I fill up with gas. Dealer says my VIN # ( mfg. Date 3/05) is not covered by their 1st or 2nd recall. I called Chrysler's customer care @ 1-800-853-1403 and was told although I appear to have the problem associated with the recall, they will not do anything because my vehicle now has 150,000 miles on it. The problem started approx. April 2009. I have learned to stand to the side when I fill up so I don't get drenched with gasoline when I fill up ! *tr

Each time we fill the fuel tank of our 2005 Dodge durango the tank over flows and fuel comes pouring out around the refueling nozzle and spills out onto the car and all over the ground. This is a potentially hazardous situation in that at least half a gallon of fuel that spiills out that could ignite and spread to the fuel tank and cause an explosion. Fortuneately it is winter now, but in the summer the chances of fire and explosion are more likely. The car is a new model for Dodge and I think this needs to be investigated immedialtey. I plan on contacting the Dodge to identify the proplem with them. I'm sure they will not share with me if other durango owners are having a similar problem.*ak
Tl*the contact owns 2005 Dodge durango. The contact stated that when fuel was added to the vehicle the fuel tank would not shut off when the vehicle was full. The failure caused gasoline to spill out of the fuel tank. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that they are aware of the failure and that there was a recall for the failure but his vehicle was not included. The failure mileage was 16,000 and the current mileage was 32,000.
Every time I fill up with gas, fuel comes gushing out of my fuel tank. At first, I thought it was the gas station nozzle, but realized that after using several different stations, this was not the case. After completing some research online, I saw there was a safety recall issued for this same complaint. I then contacted Chrysler and was informed that the VIN on my vehicle was not covered under the recall. I asked for my next steps, and was told to contact the dealership, which I did, and was told I could pay the $100 diagnostic fee to determine the cause. But, I was also informed that since my vehicle was not covered under the recall, I would have to pay "several" hundred dollars to get it fixed. The first time this happened, gas spewed all over my hands and feet. So, after cleanin
Anytime I fuel, my j2005 durango spits a lot gasoline out of the filler neck. It does not matter how fast I fuel or whether or not I top off the tank. I called Dodge and was told that Chrysler/Dodge will not include my 2005 durango vehicle in the fuel tank recall as noted in your campaign number 09v003000 or 05v3400, even though I had the same issue the recalls were to fix. I was told my mileage was to high to be included in a recall. The first incident was in feb of 09 & now it is every time I fuel. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2005 Dodge durango. Whenever the contact fills the fuel tank, gasoline sprays out of the tank. The fuel nozzle stops when the tank is full, but gasoline continues to spray out of the tank. Through research, the contact discovered NHTSA campaign id number 05v034000 (fuel system, gasoline;storage;tank assembly;filler pipe and cap). The VIN was not included in the recall, although the failures were identical. The failure mileage was 36,000 and current mileage was 52,000.
Every time I went to fill the gas tank it had a delay overflow . Started out with about a cup of gasoline and then increased to about 3/4 of a pint and this is even when filling very slowly. I checked online and found that there had been a recall on durango's in 2005 for gas tanks overflowing because of a defective check valve. When I contacted the dealer he said that recall did not apply to my VIN number?. I do not see how that can be. I have owned many cars over 40 years and never had one overfill the fuel tank and splash all over you. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 Dodge durango. The contact stated that while refueling the vehicle, fuel was spewed from the fuel tank abnormally. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed to the contact that the VIN did not qualify for repairs under NHTSA campaign id number: 09v003000 (fuel system, gasoline:storage:tank assembly). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 97,000 and the current mileage was 98,000.
Tl*the contact owns a 2005 Dodge durango. The contact stated whenever dispensing fuel into the fuel tank to the full capacity, the fuel would abruptly spill out of the filler neck. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.
Fuel splashes up the filler when refueling - started in november 2010 and has occurred on last 4 fill-ups. *tr
2005 Dodge durango spills fuel when finishing filling the tank. This is a common problem, but Dodge will only include certain vins in the recall, even though the same year and model vehicle is affected with different vins. This is a serious issue that can result in a fire or explosion. *tr

Loss of power when getting on freeway. Engine chugs, rough idle, no power to merge with traffic on freeway. Check engine light came on. Checked codes and found p0308 and p2099. Changed all 8 spark plugs, plugs 4, 6, 8, 3, 5, and 7 show sings of setting in water. Found out Dodge has two service bulletins to keep this from occurring, sb 18-006-05 rev a and 18-024-06. Do we need crashes on the freeway before we can force Dodge to fix this on all 2004 and 2005 Dodge durango with the 4.7 l engine. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 Dodge durango. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 5 MPH, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to restart. The contact also stated that there was a ticking noise when driving. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000.
My car stalls at different times and I lose all ability to steer and has come very close to causing a serious accident. The dealership has never been able to find a problem but it has happened at least 20 times in the last two years and left no codes. The dealership just says no codes no answer. *tr
After coming to a complete stop at a stop sign and allowing children to cross in the crosswalk, my vehicle try's to accelerate/jump forward even though my foot has the brake pedal completely pushed down. The schools in my town get packed with traffic and you have to kinda of stop and go at a slow pace for long periods of time. My 2005 Dodge durango try's to nudge forward on its own when slowly stopping and going in traffic. Very dangerous for this to be happening around elementary schools with children around. I hope this known safety issue is able to be resolved. This is a daily occurrence, whether I'm picking up or dropping off kids at school, or I'm creeping along very slowly stopping and going looking for a parking spot, or at a red light or slowing down before entering a driveway, or

I am making a complaint that Chrysler did not issue a recall based on NHTSA recall campaign number : 09v003000. I have a 2005 Dodge durango that has had a defective inlet check valve in the fuel tank that has allowed gas to flow back up the fill line during filling of the tank. I had questioned the local dealership in the passed that there was a recall for this issue in vehicles of the year of my vehicle, but I was told this issue did not pertain to my vehicle since this issue was remedied on vehicles made after 01 october of that year. I told them mine was still having the problems listed. According to the recall number 09v003000, Chrysler was supposed to recall the vehicles built up to 11/30 of that year. According to what I have found out today this did not occur, they placed an ex

While driving on the freeway, I noticed that my 4 lo warning light was flashing on my instrument panel. Once I came to a safe stop, I could hear what sounded like my 4 wheel drive actively trying to engage itself by making a clanking noise. Several days later, it did the same thing, only this time, it succeeded in shifting itself into 4 wheel drive but only for a brief period. Now it does this on a daily basis and will even do this in my garage with the keys out of the ignition. It will also do this when I use the key fob to unlock my doors. Please look into this as there are several other durango owners who are experiencing the same issue. My worry is that it will find a way to shift itself into 4 lo while either my wife or myself are driving down the freeway. If that happens, it c

I was on the interstate and I had the cruise control on. I hit the brakes to slow down and cruise control deactivated. I stopped at the stop sign. I proceeded through the stop sign and was making a left hand turn on to the overpass over the interstate. I was doing about 25 MPH when I felt the throttle come out from under my foot. I hit the button on the steering wheel but it keep accelerating. I hit it multiple times and it finely went off after a few times. The vehicle had accelerated to almost 35 MPH. When it went off the motor started making this horrible noise. It sounds like a broken connecting rod or it dropped a valve. The vehicle is out of warranty and it happened on the friday dec. 28th. This is sunday the 30th. Havent had a chance to let anyone look at it. I will probably have t
