2005 Dodge Ram 1500 owner complaints

The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 40 MPH, there were abnormal sounds coming from the rear end of the vehicle, and the driveshaft intermittently locked. 2005 Ram 1500 only has 57,000 miles on it, several issues: 1) loud whining noise, sounds like really loud power steering whine but power steering is ok. Started last winter when we had extremely cold temperatures. Now it is extremely loud all of the time. After hearing announcement of recall and reading other owner complaints of locking up while driving I am concerned of my safety. 2) I have had trouble with the right rear wheel feeling like it locks up when turning right especially when road is wet. 3) 4-wheel drive is impossible to use. After a short period of time it starts making a whining sound then locks up when trying to drive in reverse. Feels like tension of a rubberband that has twisted as far as it will go. 4) also, having problem of truck stalling when putting it in reverse. A

I contacted a local dealer in july / august of 2015 to schedule repairs. A week later the dealer called back to postpone the repairs because parts were not available. The dealer stated that they would call back to reschedule the repairs when the parts were available. I have not heard back from the dealer. The repairs have still not been made. The dealer has failed to remedy these defects in a reasonable amount of time.

I was at the stop sign on the braga bridge in ma. I started to enter traffic when there was a loud bang and then a bunch of banging, I instantly stopped on the bridge just past the stop sign. I put the truck in park and shut off the engine, I jumped out of the truck but it began to roll back. I had my wife hold the break while I checked. The truck would roll backwards but not forwards. The drive shaft was lying on the ground. We had to wait for a tow truck to move the truck. A flat bed showed up and could not get the truck to roll forward. I lost my parking lights (tail lights) this morning before I went to work at 3;30 a.m. When I got off work I began my search for solutions how to repair this problem. My discovery was kind of disturbing. It turns out that there are a lot of other owners of the same vehicle that are going through this problem. It has something to do with the the fuse box inside, there is a faulty wire that causes this and the only solution is to replace the whole thing. Makes me kind of wonder what other problems are wrong inside the fuse box.I feel that Chrysler should recall this part and replace it. Do we have to wait for an accident to happen before something is done about it? I read on the forums that this part is on back order because of this problem this in itself should be a red flag. Not sure what

Problems with the electrical harness in 2 Dodge Ram pick ups the one we have now, no heat blows..... Also we have a sun roof and it leaks water. I know 14 people that have this truck and 12 of them have problems with the heat/blower. *tr

While backing out my driveway I went to turn the wheel and there was a shudder ,I went to put the brakes on ,no brakes then the engine died. Making me hit a parked vehicle .this happens on and off and should be addressed ,before there is an injury or death .come on Dodge fix this!!!!! *kb

My 2005 Dodge Ram srt-10 viper truck engine stalls/shuts down without warning, no codes, no errorlights while driving...I have a problem with my truck stalling out when parking or going through slow turns. In the middle of an intersection'while an emergency vehicle was approaching, it died and I slowly drifted over to an adjacent curve.. The most recent was on 11/06/15, but it has happened at least 5 times over the past 5 months. Driving during inclement weather event, heard a pop in the area of the right front wheel. Assumed it was ice or snow. Within the next 20 miles, slight vibration began and grinding noise heard. Parked vehicle for week while out of town. Returned drove to work, approx 22 miles, problem persisted and got worse, this was during another snow event. Decided to seek assistance from local dealership, refused immediate attention, set up appointment for jan. 4, 2010. Called local repair shop near home. Could get me in immediately. Attempted to drive to repair shop. Right from wheel bearing failed, causing damage to hub and axle. Had to be hauled in because the wheel separated from axle.
