Randomly when I would drive my vehicle, the traction control would just turn on in my car whether I was driving fast or slow. I could be driving steady without stopping on the highway without any rhyme or reason. I specifically went to a gm dealership to fix the problem and they diagnosed and said it would be $529.00. I went forward with fixing the car and the next morning my car was not fixed. Since the dealership has disengaged my traction control and ABS and said to fix my car now would be $1500. I now am driving a very unsafe vehicle and out $500 and not sure what to do to fix my vehicle which is a huge safety matter? I am looking for assistance in getting my money back from the dealership and going to one that is reputable since gm said that the dealership is privately owned and

During acceleration and occasionally during braking, the wheel sensor(s) cause the traction control to become active, or cause the anti-lock brakes to engage. In all cases, activation is in error based on ambient conditions. I am able to override the traction active problems by disabling the traction assist, but the anti-lock brakes are not controlled by the same switch. I have searched the internet and found numerous examples of the same failure with this type of vehicle, but no recall exists yet for this particular year and model. To date, the failure has not caused a crash, but now that winter is here I have to make repairs because disengaging the traction assist is not practical in snowy conditions. My mechanic advised me that it requires changing the full front wheel bearing assem
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 GMC yukon denali. While driving with the heated seat mechanism activated, the rear driver-side seat caught on fire . The vehicle was taken to the dealership for inspection. The technician stated that the seat needed to be replaced. No repairs were made. The current and failure mileages were 94000.
The vehicle's hydraulic brake lines have rapidly corroded, to the point that they may give out any day. The vehicle has been well-maintained (all service performed by a gm dealer) and has received regular undercarriage washing. In addition, the electronic brake control module (ebcm) has just failed; if a brake fluid leak occurs, there will be no warning or indication presented by the vehicle and the vehicle may not be able to stop. Gm has stated that any repairs for these serious safety hazard conditions would need to be paid out of pocket, with an approximate cost of $2500. A vehicle that is less than 10 years old should not such exhibit corrosion to the point of a safety hazard. *js

I started having problems with my speedometer cluster about 1 year after purchase. It worked most of the time so didn't take it in for repair under my warranty. After 3 years it stopped working altogether but I was no longer under warranty. I called the dealer to see if there was a recall and he said there was but I had too many miles on the vehicle to qualify. So I have been driving without a working speedometer for the past two years. *tr
Sppedometer stopped working while driving. Driving about 70 when the speedometer suddently went up to 120. When I came to a stop and turned off enging the speedometer still reads anywhere from 50 to 60 MPH (while in park). *tr
The airbag error lights are on. Mechanic says the front airbag sensors went bad. The horn does not work. The dash lights are burnt out. Many of the steering wheel control button lights are burnt out. The rear windshield wiper motor is burnt out. The fuel pump makes vibrating noises.

My wife was driving my 2005 GMC yukon denali xl when both the passenger tires went flat. We put air in the tires and drove home. The next morning only the front passenger tire was flat so I used my compressor to air the tire up and went to firestone to have it checked out. When firestone removed the tire and looked at it, they found multiple split on the inside of the tire. So I had them check all the tires and each one had the same problems. I have replaced all four tires now but someone has sold a bad tire and I want them recalled and also my money back. *tr
Michelin ltx m/s p235/55r20 tires. All four tires are losing air (filled with nitrogen). Owner consistently have to take to costco to inflate tires to correct air pressure. The side walls show excessive cracks. Tires tread very good. Warranty will not address my concern. Vehicle is only use for long distance traveling. DOT info on tires: rear b39y 56ex 2511 and front b79y 4fjx 1609/0000. Michelin recall is only on one size tire: lt 225/75r16. Owner suspects other size tires manufactured during the same time period of 0210-2512 are affected also. *tr

I was traveling on a local highway at the posted speed limit when I was caused to slow due to traffic. When I pressed the brake pedal the pedal went completely to the floor. Scared to death I almost engaged the emergency brake to ensure the vehicle would stop in time. Mind you I was traveling with three children and my spouse in the vehicle all of whose lives could have been affected not to mention my own. There was no indication of any brake service needed until this occurred at the point my foot was literally on the floor the service brake signal showed and dinging occurred. I arrived home without incident an hour later but still no pressure to the brake pedal and each time in order to stop I had to apply tons of pressure so the brake pedal would touch the floor. I checked the brake flui
Driving home, leaving our current locality the brakes failed to work. Were able to press brake to the floor without having the vehicle stop. Investigated the next day (after having to borrow a vehicle) and brake lines are flaking and leaking fluid. Took to repair shop after putting on "temporary" break line (which we found out will not work on our vehicle). Having it replaced but shop called and can not do it and we have to take it to the dealer to fix since the body has to be taken off and brake lines replaced. *tr

Dt: the contact stated when he was exiting the vehicle, with the engine off it began to roll down the driveway. He took the vehicle to the dealership, and they found the bolt that holds the shaft in the transmission was stripped. The bolt was replaced. Then, while exiting a parking lot, the vehicle shifted from drive to neutral on its own. The indicator still read drive, but would not go. He stated the steering column did register that the vehicle was in drive, and when driving over a bump, it shifted into neutral. The vehicle was taken to the dealership, they contacted the manufacturer, and they stated tissues normal. The dealership stated they adjusted cables, but the work order he received showed that nothing was done. *ak the driver side mirror wasn't holding, it would fol
The 4 wheel drive intermittently works on our 2005 GMC yukon xl, therefore you never know in bad whether, in a slippery situation, if its working. I understand that a sensor on these vehicles is failing. In fact the part is on back order, because so many are failing. This is a real safety problem. *tr

1999 to present 4.8,5.3 5.7,6.0 liter engines from gm have inferior grade metal in the exhaust manifold bolts causing them to break. The vehicles will have exhaust leaks and false readings to the oxygen sensors.the exhaust leaks of raw exhaust gases in to the atmosphere translate to extra pollution into the atmosphere from all these vehicles . The other matter is that the computer on the vehicles isn't given the correct oxygen sensor reading because of the leaks ,either gas leaking out or air being drawn into the exhaust stream causing the premature failing of catalytic converters. The computer on the vehicles may or may not warm the customers with a light based on the severity of the exhaust stream leak gm put out replacement bolts for this problem ,but that only fixes the people's tha

On my 2005 GMC yukon denali xl, the driver upper door hinge weld connecting the hinge to the vehicle body is defective and has cracked and broken loose. I'm wondering when it might come completely apart causing a total failure in the door shutting properly. Already contacted gm and they don't believe this is a defect. I totally disagree. If using welds on the door hinges is such a great way to build vehicles, then why did they stop using welding and now use bolts? *tr
