2005 INFINITI QX56 owner complaints

While driving ,I pressed on the brakes and the pedal dropped down and started making a weird noise kind of like loose metal parts and the truck wouldn't stop. The ABS light turned on. It felt like the brakes locked up . I managed to pull to the side of the road and shut the truck off. I turned it back on and it seemed to reset the system. Brake petal raised back up and the check engine light shut off.

Brake shudder - severely reduced braking power. Brake light comes on dash. This is random. Happened twice more on way to work, approximately 50 MPH,on I-40 exit ramp and 30 MPH on a side road. Turning off vehicle and back on resets this. But it randomly happens again. I am fearful in this vehicle. I called dealer and they said they are unaware of issue. A google search reveals a class action lawsuit on this subject.

I have a 2005 Nissan infinity qx56 and had the brake light come on yesterday followed by the limited braking, shuttering and pulsing of the brake pedal.. Almost hit a car. Maybe because of faulty and defective delta stroke sensor. *tr

Every once in a while, seemingly after slow driving where there are many stop signs not too far apart, the brake light comes on, the brake pedal weakens and brake system makes a rattling noise when the pedal is pressed. Then I turn off the vehicle and restart it and all is back to normal until the next time, can be days or sometimes weeks.

While driving the brake light comes on and then the brakes start grabbing the rotors. I have to stop cut the car off then restart the vehicle to reset the brake light it has happen at least 10 times. Dealership kept the car for 3 weeks sill couldn't fix the problem dangerous for me and my family.......

While driving my 2005 Infiniti qx56 I noticed I have to press down harder on my brakes to come to a stop. At one point the brakes go all the way to the floor and the brake light illuminates. I know I don't need brake pads because they were replaced 2 months ago. I have also had my brake booster assembly replaced so I know it is not that. I don't know what to do because I keep having issues with this vehicle.

Randomly, I will step on the brakes and the brakes begin to pulsate. Then it sounds like grinding sound and the brake pedal loses pressure. Almost like it hit a void and dropped to the floor. I had to try and slow down vehicle to come to a stop. Calipers and pads were all changed, per dealer findings. And it continued. I do not go over 40 MPH for fear of this happening again. It's clearly and unsafe situation and the dealer claims they only hear this when people have back brakes. Guess what, I brought it to another Infiniti service center, and they said the same thing even thought the other service center replaced just about everything. When car stop on stop sign, ready to go, brief a moment it hold a car & then go. I have been taking to a dealer for fix ,they couldn't fix or they couldn't find a problem. Seems to me either the transmission or fuel relate problem. My car is Infiniti qx56. Please look in to this problem. *nm

The contact owns a 2005 Infiniti QX56. The contact stated that while driving approximately 75 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The vehicle was later towed to the residence where it was discovered that no fuel was present although the fuel gauge indicated that there was a quarter tank of fuel in the tank. After adding fuel, the vehicle was restarted, and the vehicle operated as designed. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number 10V074000 (Fuel System, Other). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The local dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 150,000.

I have a 2005 infinity qx56 and recently the vehicle has stalled out while on the freeway because of the running out of gas when the fuel gauge is showing over a 1/4 tank still remaining. Contacted infinity and informed them of NHTSA campaign id number: 10v074000 which says "the instrument panel fuel gauge may inaccurately display that the vehicle still has some fuel, typically about one quarter tank, when the fuel tank is empty" although my vehicle matches identically to the proper make model and year of the recall they state that my VIN is not included with the recall. I do believe this is a major safety issue since my wife was accelerating onto the freeway recently in front of a semi truck when the vehicle stalled out and the semi had to take evasive maneuvers into another lane of traf

Fuel gauge indicate 1/4 tank during my drive down the freeway during slight rush hour. Car engine shut off while I was in the third lane of the freeway. An accident occurred from rubber necking. Infiniti of elk grove couldn't diagnose it right away and the car died 2 more times, once more on the freeway, and was lucky to glide off the freeway with no power steering. After having it towed 3 times to Infiniti, they finally diagnosed the fuel sensor after we researched the problem and told them what to check. Checked all recalls and this was listed as a problem but Infiniti refuse to cover this defect. After owning a qx56, fx35 and g35, the rudeness of the repair manager left a really bad taste. *tr

I was told the vehicle can not have recall performed because it had an aftermarket fuel pump. My dad gave me the vehicle before he past so I'm not sure if some one else has worked on vehicle. The vehicle is causing gas problems that are unsafe. I was told by the dealer to buy a new one put it in then have them do a recall. Please help.

Brake problem usually occurs after a turn when accelerating to about 20 to 30 MPH. Steering wheel began to vibrate when pressure is applied to the brakes, brake dash lights comes on and the brake pedal pulsates and goes all the way to the floor. Sounds also are heard from the front brakes (rubbing and grinding). The vehicle will barely stop when this happens. Thank god we are not going at a high rate of speed when this occurs, if so, we would not be able to stop the truck in time. Problem always stops after we pull over and put the vehicle in park and turn the engine off. The a/c switch that controls the rear fan speed on the front dash does not work. The internal plastic has broke and the nob just turns. The only way now to use the rear a/c is to stretch way back in the rear and turn it on. I went to test drive a newer qx56 and that nob was also broken. I test drove another one and the rear air was continuously running. I took my 2005 qx56 to an Infiniti dealer and they said the entire panel has to be replaced at $565.00 even though only one nob is broken. Please help. *tr

Condensation in headlights that cause failure to headlights

I was driving in the city then suddenly the airbag passenger side turn on with flashing inter mitt then I take it to the dealer and they rest it ,after one week the air bag get on again , I am now scare to drive the SUV because I have a 3 children s and I need to help me with this problem for the safety of my children. This letter is in reference to a previous complaint filed with Infiniti consumer affairs on december 3, 2009, regarding my vehicle shutting completely down, stalled out, not moving in the drive or reverse position at a busy intersection on a rainy stormy evening. This occurrence could have caused a serious accident or worse, a fatality. As a result of police assistance and having my vehicle towed directly to the dealership, to date there are no mechanical issues found by the dealer related to my vehicle shutting down at the intersection. My complaint contains additional serious vehicle issues regarding my headlights, instrument cluster/panel, and the fuse box under the hood.
