Since purchasing this car, its been nothing but problems. The problems I've experienced aren't any different from all the other ls owners. Coil packs going bad, the a/c blowing hot air, the car going into fail safe mode while on the freeway, the smell of gasoline inside the car. It looks like these issues have been going on since Ford started producing the car. Now wonder they needed bailout money. I got in my car this morning and it went into fail safe mode 3x's before I could get out of the drive way! All of these issues with this car dating as far back as 2001, and no recalls, c'mon man. My tax dollars went to help out this company!!!! [xxx]shame!!!! This is my first and last time buying a Ford! It was driving fine one day until I went to start it. It said etc engine fail safe mode, check parking brake and something about the gears. It starts sometimes, I've had it shut down while doing 50 MPH and lose steering and bad braking. This is a potential hazard for my newborn in the car. Now it wont start and no one knows what the problem is. How can they sell a car that they cant find out the problem on themselves and sell it? *tr

Had just come off freeway and parked. Noticed that climate control was blowing hot air (excessively). Turning the control to cooler settings just increased the blast of heat. The dual setting was not working either as most air was being forced to the driver side. The strange thing was that shortly after that, the parking brake service light came on! .after stopping and turning the ignition off and on a couple of times and engaging and disengaging the parking brake a couple of times also, the parking brake service light has turned off. It came back on once or twice, repeated the steps, and 'so far' has not come back on. But the heating/cooling, or lack of cooling is still a problem even through all controls seem to be operating properly, including the passenger side temp control is operatio

My company leased this 2005 Lincoln ls in august 2005 from bob maxey Lincoln-mercury in detroit. On tuesday 10/4/2005 I went out to the car in my driveway to drive my children to school. There was a strong smell of gas by the car. I dropped the children off at school, then proceeded to my office. The car sat in the parking lot until noon when I went out to make customer calls. Again, there was a strong smell of gas. I found gas dripping down from the bottom of the gas tank. As I consider this a safety issue, I drove the car to bob maxey Lincoln-mercury to find the cause of the leak. I was told that I had hit something with the gas tank, causing a puncture and the subsequent leak. The dealer would not cover the tank replacement under warranty and said it would cost $850.00 to replace. I ha

I was driving on a county road in colorado to pickup some food. I was not going very fast because I did not know where I would have to turn. The side impact air bag deployed. I did not hit anything and nothing hit me. I have done everything that the car company has asked and now they will not take responsibility. The car has not been fixed yet. *tr
