On the 2005 Lincoln town car the brake and gas peddle are to close. When you step on the brake it is very easy to put your foot on the gas peddle at the same time. This could result in a very dangerous situation. This has been an ongoing problem from the day I purchased this car. *tr

At lest 14 times, all our lights inside and outside the vehicle go off and stay off for a period of time. So far this has happened in the daytime and we, purposely, do not drive it at night as cannot trust it to not occur again. We live on a restrictivbe budget so have not been able to get it repaired. Did see the recall on the 2005 mercury and wonder if this should apply to us as well. Our dealer, colorado river Ford, says it does not, but strange that symptoms are the same.

The drivers inside door handle became unsecured from door panel. Unable to open door from inside vehicle. I took the vehicle to the dealer this morning and was informed the part is not available. There were no options given, except that the part would have to come from a salvage yard. I expressed my concern over the safety of this vehicle, should a collision or fire occur, the occupant would not be able to get out. I took the vehicle to my mechanic, and he is going to secure the handle tomorrow, so I can open the door from the inside. *tr
