Tl*the contact owns a 2005 Mazda tribute. The contact stated that while waiting at a stop sign, the vehicle would hesitate and not accelerate. It also hesitated when decelerating and trying to accelerate again. The vehicle was inspected by the dealer who informed the contact that she needed to replace the throttle body and the accelerator cable. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

I have repeatedly had problems with the gas pedal sticking. Not in the "on" position but rather when I try to accelerate after stopping or deceleration it will stick and I can not push it down. It happens more when it is cold out. I am reading pages and pages on the internet of this happening with Mazda tributes around my cars age. It seems potentially very dangerous. Also, since folks like myself have gotten it 'repaired' and it has recurred this does not seem like a worn part but rather a defect. Please help! *tr

The technician stated that this was a common failure for her model type. The failure mileage was 77000. The current mileage was 78000.

My gas pedal sticks when going from a dead stop, causing the car to accelerate to fast. This happens mostly when it is cold but has been reoccuring more frequently. It is very dangerous when driving in the snow and ice. *tr

We purchased this vehicle new and about 5 times over the history of owning this vehicle, the gas peddle stuck and on the last most recent event the car got stuck at a high rate of speed on the freeway and it could not be slowed by pulling the pedal up with foot. Thank god there were no vehicles around or slowing traffic ahead. Mazda issued a recall #94751 - vehicle speed control: cables but when we took the car into the nearest Mazda dealership we were told that our vehicle's VIN is not covered by this recall as it supposedly does not have the "defective part(s) installed." yet the summary of the recall description notes that it is a design/installation flaw with the vehicle I.e. "inadequate clearance between the engine cover and speed control cable connector" resulting in a stuck throt

12/15/2009 39,000 mi ODI #10295759.0

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 Mazda tribute. She applied pressure on the accelerator pedal between 10-15 MPH to leave a stop sign. The vehicle would not accelerate, until she exerted a great amount of force to the accelerator pedal. The failure occurred on ten separate occasions. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection. The vehicle was in the process of being repaired for the failure. The failure mileage was 39,000. The VIN number was unavailable.

After reading other similar complaints, I felt compelled to address this issue with the gas pedal. It seems Mazda has been aware of this problem for many years, yet no recall. The gas pedal sticks in weather colder than 50 degrees. For an all-terrain vehicle (SUV) which is made to go off-road and in mountains, this is a pretty serious safety issue. When I conferred with my local Mazda dealer, they wanted to charge me $400 for parts and labor to "replace" a faulty mechanism. I feel I shouldn't have to pay for something which is inherent with these tribute vehicles and for which Mazda is fully aware. *tr

My 2005 tribute has had gas pedal problems in the past. It was serviced for this in 2008 however when the weather is cold the gas pedal is still stiff and I have to stomp on it to get it to go. Yesterday however was a different story. I headed to work with my baby in the car. About 3 miles down the road on a hwy going 60 MPH I let off the gas to slow down and my car did not slow! I stomped the break and it hardly made a difference. I went for 3 or 4 miles not pressing the gas and continued to fly down the road at 60 MPH! I tried to kick the gas and it didn't help. I finally took both of my feet and stood on the break while trying not to get rear ended and pulled off on the exit ramp still going 15-20 MPH! I had to turn the key off to get my car to stop! My husband was near by and

We took to the Mazda dealer (5900 north oak trafficway, kansas city, mo 64118) in 2009 because the car did not start. They changed the starter motor and still it did not work then they replaced the battery and it did not work again them they said it is the alternator this all happened just within a week or two and had to spend lot of money. Then again we had to replace the battery four times with in 2009 to 2014. Right now we have the same problem and an auto dealer is saying it is the alternator. I strongly think there should be some kind of recall to this as I have not seen a car like this that has so many electrical problem and this is not safe. Thank you for checking on this and hope this problem will be solved and people will not have any problems in the future. *tr

Takata recall this 2005 Mazda tribute. While driving down the road the light start to flash and there is a car that shows up on my dash I have had this looked at. And everyone said it was wiring problems this SUV has almost. Had me hit and in a car wreck. Because. It will shut down and no pull a hill. Or lose it power.

Since I have owned this car the 'door ajar' light is mostly on--all the time. It is a minor annoyance; however, I am reading tons of other Mazda tribute owners with the same issue. No one I've had it to--including the dealer--could figure out what is wrong. It clearly is a defect. Sometimes I am concerned it will pose a safety issue as, for instance, it will be off (rare, but sometimes it turns off). Then I roll down a window, or sometimes do nothing, and then the light suddenly comes on. It dings and the interior lights come on in the car as though someone opened a door. I ask that you investigate this issue and hold Mazda responsible for fixing this issue. Thank you! *tr

My 2005 Mazda tribute began to vibrate uncontrollably, skips and making loud popping noises. The car than shut down completely in traffic. I then had it towed to the dealership and they said that the computer was completely burned up. The car was still under warranty and so they fixed it at no cost to me which was 2,000 dollars. However, I was responsible for buying new keys which cost 600 dollars. My car is current in the shop with the same problem. I also had to replace the ignition coils twice. It has been less than a year. *tr

The sub frame and axles completely rusted through and the lower control arms and everything supported came loose. It all needs to be replaced at a cost of thousands of dollars. This is the same issue I have been reading about on the same vehicle years 2001 - 2004 as well as many Ford escapes. They have been recalled so why would newer units with the same problem not have been recalled. For a newer car to have the same problem would make this issue be even worse then the manufacturer is reporting. Every dealer and every junk yard tells me the same thing, this is not isolated to the 2001 - 2004 model years. I have no option but to fix the manufacturers defect and hope that they admit more vehicles need to be recalled. They should fix the problem and pay for the parts and labor to rep

During the last state inspection, it was brought to my attention that all 4 tires on my 2005 Mazda tribute were worn on the inside edge only. The service advisor stated that he had seen this problem before and that the solution to this issue was to just replace the tires. The car has 26,843 miles on it, has never been driven off-road or used to tow anything. I could understand wear across the tread, but this is limited to just the inside edge. I called the Mazda customer service center in california and after speaking to a manager a representative did state to me that he had heard of this problem before as well. I did talk to continental, the tire manufacture and they told me that first of all there is no warranty on OEM tires, and this kind of wear can only mean there is something wrong w

12/10/2018 175,000 mi ODI #11157228.0

The entire passenger side wheel well is completely rusted out. When compared to the other wheel wells you can see the white foam that is supposed to be on the inside of my car. There is also a plastic piece missing due to the screws loosing their hold. The car makes a noise that sounds like there is something bouncing around in the back when in reality it is the suspension.

I would like a complete refund of all dollars spent in acquiring a 2005 Mazda tribute VIN [xxx] on march 06, 2017 from certified auto brokers llc in hendersonville, tn 37075, license #[xxx]. (attached bill of sale) due to serious safety issues with this vehicle. Due to extensive rust and corrosion damage, the frame is likely to collapse in the event of a rear end collision endangering the safety of its passengers, rather than crush and absorb the impact as it was originally designed to do. In addition, it is prone to swerve and possibly tip over out of control on uneven pavement due to a missing passenger side rear shock that was not disclosed prior to purchase (photos attached). The left side shock is worn out and also ready to fall off at any moment as well. Because the fender

Vehicle with odometer ~102500 miles lost all power climbing a bridge at highway speed causing following traffic to stop abruptly. Engine re-started but runs rough due to misfire, accelerates poorly. Diagnosed by Mazda dealer as PCM failure. Estimated replacement cost = $2600 usd which makes this failure a total loss of this vehicle. This is a widely known and experienced issue among 2001 - 2006 Mazda tributes for this Ford manufactured engine. Side note, class action suit filed against Ford motor company for same issues with 5.1l engines.
