2005 Mitsubishi Endeavor owner complaints

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 Mitsubishi endeavor. The contact stated that while driving 50 MPH, he depressed the brake pedal and heard an abnormal grinding noise. The contact exited the vehicle and noticed that the front passenger's side rotor was corroded and had become fractured. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for inspection or repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 Mitsubishi endeavor. The contact was driving 10 MPH when the brakes were depressed but the vehicle failed to stop. The emergency brake was deployed in order to stop the vehicle. The contact also mentioned the vehicle caliper was detached under the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where the mechanic confirmed that the caliper and front brakes needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted and they confirmed that the VIN did not qualify for repairs under NHTSA campaign id number: 06v068000 (service brakes, hydraulic: foundation components:disc:caliper). The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 80,000 and the current mileage was 82,000.

While air conditioner is running and vehicle is in motion, blower stops blowing cold air, water drips inside vehicle on passenger side floor gets soaked with water and moldy smell inside vehicle. When making turns, you can hear water sloshing around inside the dashboard, and what sounds like static or sparks behind the dash. Water sometimes run over onto the gas and brake pedals, casing a dangerous situation. Blower motor has since stopped working as a result of water constantly running down on it.

Wet floor board on drivers side due to a leaking HVAC. May cause slippery feet while operating vehicle. Also causing mildew and or rust. Seen lots and lots of discussion on net about this known problem. And they even have a bulletin on there website for the problem. But no recall?

1. My 2005 endeavor has 11,000 kms, covered by the warranty (it has less than a year since I bought it. Lst friday I was driving normally to my work when I felt thumps and if it were pulling back and forth. I don't know how but I managed to park, and when I did something under it ripped off and a huge spot of oil appeared. It leaked all the transmission fluid on the pavement. This could have been lethal if it were on a road, according to the mechanic. Now Mitsubishi refuses to recognize warranty. The cause was a broken hose of transmission fluid which caused the leakage. *nm

2005 Mitsubishi endeavor, I bought the car brand new, I have had the car for a year. On 12 oct 07, I went to get into my car and it wouldn't start, apparently the weld on the torque converter did not hold. The shop I took it to said that it had to be a defect, especially since the car wasn't that old. *jb

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 Mitsubishi endeavor. While driving 40 MPH, the transmission suddenly locked. Prior to the failure, the contact noticed that the dashboard shift indicator light would flash whenever the vehicle was placed into drive. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they stated that the transmission needed to be replaced. The current and failure mileages were 70,000.

I was pulling into an apartment parking lot at 3 miles per hour or less applied brake and car surged forward. I applied more pressure to brake and the car surged again and would not stop. This caused me to crash into a unoccupied parked car which banged another unoccupied car parked next to it. All 3 cars were damage. My car and the car I hit sustained front end damage. The third car was scraped along the driver side door and rear panel. There was a witness to this accident that told the responding california chp officer that he saw my car experience two surges as I slowly entered the parking. Dt*: the contact stated while parked, it was noticed that water had leaked on the front driver side floor mat. The vehicle had been to the dealer a total of 7 times for the same problem. The air conditioner line was flushed on every visit. Also, an unknown part was ordered and installed on the vehicle, but the problem persisted. Currently, the vehicle had a mold odor, and the driver floormat was flattened because of the water.

Drivers side floor soaked, after checking forums sounds like a a/c drain issue. *tr

The rear trunk latch fails to unlock. I cannot open either the glass or the trunk. Have to use the manual release from inside to open. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 Mitsubishi endeavor. The contact stated that extensive mold developed due to a leak in the vehicle. Due to the placement of the air conditioning drain plug, water leaked onto the floorboard. The contact stated that the carpet in the vehicle was soaked. While driving and attempting to depress the brake pedal, the contact's foot slipped off of the brake pedal due to the bottom of her shoe being wet from the leak. The vehicle was taken to several independent mechanics who confirmed that the water leaked from the drain plug. The vehicle was not repaired. A dealer and the manufacturer were not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 112,000.

I was driving the vehicle home from work when I smelled electrical wire burning through out the car. It was coming from under the glove compartment. I pulled off the road to investigate. The connector to the a/c & heater motor was charred. During internet research I discovered that this is very common occurrence. What people have said on-line was that it was a poor design, thus the connecting pins are too close which causes them to heat up and char the connector. If I would have had a new paper or backpack in that area, it could cause a fire while driving resulting in a fatal accident. I tried reconnecting, that part I used was charred a second time. I believe it should be recalled by the manufacturer. *tr

Air conditioning drain plug doesn't drain and driver side floor gets very wet causing damaged floor and moldy smell after a while

The vehicle has a very bad vibration and severe wining sound, not sure what it is but we dont feel safe driving it. New tires , rotors, and breaks were installed and still the same problem. It usually starts vibration at about 25 MPH and is hard to maintain a speed.

Dt: the contact stated while purchasing the vehicle he insisted that the dealer convert the driver's seat to a power operated seat. After the power seat was installed the SRS light illuminated. The dealer performed diagnostic testing which was inconclusive. The dealer believed it may have been the wiring harness on the power seat that caused the SRS light to illuminate. The dealer ordered an air bag to remedy the problem, but it has not been installed. *ak

Drivers seat belt latch sticks. It takes several times of pressing release button to unlatch the belt. *tr

As I was driving on the highway and and as I sped up the vehicle kept fish tailing it felt like it was the front of the vehicle . So I went straight to my mechanic and he showed me the rust of the rear subframe of the car and it was detached and broken. He suggested I not drive the vehicle because I amy lose co trol of the vehicle.
