2005 Suzuki Forenza owner complaints

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 Suzuki forenza. She had her vehicle repaired according to recall notice number 07v452000 (exterior lighting) in december 2009. While driving approximately 35 MPH at night, the head-lights failed without warning. She had to use the high beams to get home. She took the vehicle back to the dealership and had them replaced at her expense. She referenced the prior recall and was told that the failure was not related to the recall. My lights do not work. The left head light dims or doesnt work at all and the right head light is completely broken. Ive changed bulbs multiple times and still nothing. If I put on my blinker while driving it will cut off the one light that kind of works. Using my brights while on the road may cut my lights on briefly

2005 Suzuki forenza. Consumer writes in regards to malfunction of vehicle driving lights. *smd the consumer stated she received a recall notice in september 2012 and responded immediately by calling the department with her information regarding the expensive repair bill from january 2012, when the said recall had in fact disabled the driving lights on her vehicle. The consumer submitted all of the required paperwork to be reviewed for reimbursement. The beginning of january was her first experience with the driving lights shutting off, while driving in the dark at 60 MPH. Within 10 to 15 minutes the lights came back on, but a few minutes later they shut off again. The first time I had a problem was with the automatic lights, they would come on when they wanted to after two months of buying the car. I did not do nothing about that, then I was driving and went to turn on my high beams and the lights went out all together no lights what's so ever, but then messed with switch and they came back on. Then just the other day I was leaving a friends house and I had high beams but no regular headlights. *tr

Purchased this vehicle one month prior to problem. The automatic transmission constantly hunts for gears, shifting abruptly and sharply without provocation. At 2,950 miles, the 'check engine' light came on and engine began to groan. When proceeding from a stop, the engine would rev but the vehicle would not move as if transmission was not engaged. After a short period, vehicle would jerk violently and transmission would engage, but constantly shift early or late and hunt between gears. Took vehicle to dealer to solve problem. Was informed that the 'check engine' was definitely on and that a transmission flush was performed to solve the problem, as per a "recall" on 2005 forenza transmissions. Transmission does shift smoother now, but still has jerky moments. *jb

I was driving my 2005 Suzuki forenza uphill going 35 MPH when it suddenly stopped accelerating and sounded as though it had shifted into neutral. However, the car was still in drive. The check engine light also came on. Leading up to this incident, I experienced rough jolting when my car (which is an automatic) was downshifting from third to second gear. In june 2011, the vehicle jerked extremely hard while driving and then wouldn't accelerated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and they replaced the transmission

Driver's airbag was fixed 2 or 3 times under warranty, and fixed one more time after warranty expired. The airbag light is on once again. *tr

From what I understand, the Suzuki forenza's airbag sensor (I have a 2005 Suzuki forenza) is under the cup holder and faults out easily due to condensation from beverages. Mine just went out for the 3rd time in 2 years. I contacted Suzuki, and they said I would have to pay for the repair since the vehicle has 50,000 miles and is out of the "bumper-to-bumper" warranty period. My airbag light on the dash stays on all the time now, indicating a problem. After web research, I found out this is very common, yet there is no recall. This is obviously safety related. *tr

Air bag light stays on since 07-2014 approx. 55,000 miles on car at that time. Dealer says that there is not a recall and Suzuki will not cover under warrenty, but they will be happy to take my money. There is a service bulletin # ts050115b.its a safety issue that a lot of people are having.

Have a 2005 Suzuki forenza. Bought it june of 2005. For the time that I had the car it had little problems at times. Bought the car with 5 miles on it. Suzuki dealerships only look at your car by appointment only and when they do look at it they claim nothing was found. The car hesitates and downshifts hard at times. In the morning the car has hard starts when cold. The exhaust makes noise and transmission does too. The claims are that it is a characteristic of that car and normal. Recently I almost got hit by a truck at an intersection because the car stalled while trying to cross the intersection from a stop sign. The gas pedal had to be pressed to the floor to move and it did it slowly. From a stop the engine would rev but the car would not move. Also airbag light does not work proper

The contact received whiplash from the jerking motion. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where they advised him that the engine bearings had seized and the idle pulley failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. The failure and the current mileage was approximately 89,000.

Dt: the contact stated while driving the brakes failed and the check engine light came on. The road conditions were dry, and brake failure occurred under normal braking and at normal to low speeds. He contacted the dealership, who claimed the brake switch malfunctioned, causing the check engine light to come on. Also, contacted the manufacturer. They told him to contact the dealership. Dt*: the contact stated while traveling 10 MPH, a grinding noise was heard coming from the rear brakes. On 11/15/06, the service dealer was contacted, who determined that the vehicle needed to be brought in for inspection. The manufacturer was contacted who determined that the brakes were worn down by the contact. The contact expressed that even if the pads were worn down, the dealer needed to check to see if the manufacturer of the pads was producing defective brake pads. The vehicle only had 14000 miles.

After first purchasing the car, there were problems accelerating and then car failed. Power steering had to be fixed, timing belt replaced. A few months later speakers started to go in and out, radio lights come on and off, etc. In 2010 headlights failed. Being a broke college student I rode with my brights for almost a year until I looked up the recall online and got that fixed at the dealership. 2011 replaced speakers, still don't work on entire right side of car and back of driver side. One speaker works, very weak and sometimes goes out completely. Interior lights go in and out. Started to leak oil, had to have head gasket replaced under warranty, then had to have radiator hose replaced. 2012 timing belt pops, engine damaged costing almost $2000. The dealer could not find any failures the first time. Two weeks later, the light illuminated again and the vehicle jerked during acceleration. The vehicle was returned to the dealer so the computer component could be updated. One week later, the vehicle caught fire and was destroyed. A fire report was filed. The contact received a recall notice regarding the failure after the fire occurred. The powertrain and recall number were unknown. The current and failure mileages were 15,000. Updated 01-10-08. *kb

Car was making a loud clacking sound coming for the front end. I took the car to a garage for service. I was told that it was the strut mounts and it would be a very expensive repair. I contacted the dealer and told them the problem. I was told to bring the car in. After the dealer looked at the car I was told it was a cv joint not the struts. The repair was covered under the powertrain warranty. This year while trying to get my car inspected I was told by another garage that my strut mounts were bad and that my vehicle was not safe to drive. *kb
