The secondary injection pump has failed. It started with a loud winding noise anytime it was started at a cold start. The noise would last a few minutes. Then everything was fine. Then the entire thing went out and my check engine light came on along with all traction control has gone out. The vehicle will not accelerate at a normal speed and it is very dangerous while driving, especially on the interstate. Total cost to repair is over $3,000.00 it is a well documented case of complaints and they have issued warranty for other year models for this part to be replaced- but not 2005. *js

Very excessive fast idle speed in my 2005 sequoia. I too owned a previous sequoia (2000) model and there is no comparison. It can take anywhere from 4 or more minutes to warm up the engine before there is any noticeable change in its idle. In fact, I can idle out of my subdivision without hitting the accelerator. This should not be. You can also hear an increase in its idle if you turn on the vehicles heater. The engine even revs more. You no longer can get the this vehicle, start it, and let it warm up 2 or 3 minutes and put it in drive or reverse. Getting in a cold vehicle after a packer's game, you must sit there and wait....and wait....and wait while all of the other parked (and cold) vehicles have left the parking lot. If you do not let the vehicle warm up a good 5 mins. You

I have a 2005 Toyota sequoia with 56,000 miles on it. Over the past month the dash board brake warning light has started coming on. I took the truck to the dealer last week, sterling mccall Toyota in houston, texas. The dealer diagnostics revealed a error code on the computer of c1247 stroke sensor failure. After a day the light came back on. The dealers response was that a $2,300 ECU was required to correct the problem. If you look online there are hundreds and thousands of similar complain on this vehicle. Something has to be done! *tr

When driving our 2005 Toyota sequoia sr5 limited, sometimes while going straight but usually after a turn, the vehicle stability control light (little skidding car icon) flashes on the dashboard and all power is lost - you cannot accelerate. In addition, a severe grinding sound is heard, some of the time, when slowing to turn (not using brake pressure). This stalling has occurred since the vehicle was new. The dealer said it was a defective throttle body and replaced it. This did not solve the problem. Any subsequent time I asked them to check it out, they said they could not find anything wrong. Now it is happening several times a day. This past weekend, alone, we experienced this problem at least 5 times while driving. I, previously, contacted Toyota corp. And their response was that the

Our 2005 Toyota sequoia limited has had several problems since the day we brought it home. However, we recently had an electrical failure and it was the second such event. My wife, mother-in-law and our 2 small children(ages 3 and 1) were in the car and while moving the car just stopped. It would not accelerate, pushing the gas pedal did nothing, the check engine light was on along with the vsc lights. My wife could only let the car coast to a safe stopping point and there was a distinct burning smell at that time. Had this problem happened on the freeway where they had just been moments before, I hate to think what would have happened to them. My wife called the dealer and was told to have the car towed. The car was taken to the dealer where it has been now for 3 weeks. In that three we

While driving home on interstate 15 in california brake pedal would not depress. After several hard foot applications pedal finally engaged. This is after months of service on this vehicle for brake problems starting with spongy and inconsistent pedal and vcs, ABS and brake lights coming on and staying on. Dealership replaced on board computer, brake booster, brake master cylinder, brake pads and problem still there. I am the original owner and bought this vehicle new. This is a serious problem and just a matter of time before an accident occurs. This vehicle is now back in the shop once again. *tr

One morning around 11/20/2018, I noticed my window shield was cracked in the upper right hand side. Passengers side. It also developed strange noises, rattling, in the dashboard. I had had the evaporator replaced, so I took it back to the mechanic to check the noise out. He advised that after inspection he noticed the windshield was cracked and loose. It had nothing to do with the evaporator installation. So I now have a cracked and loose windshield, with no accident or crash, no rock hit my winshield. So I suspect it was a badly installed windshiel. I noticed this winshield one morning while still in the driveway.
