Dash lights did not turn on when the headlights were turned on. Also, running lights did not turn on after my headlights were turned on (front and rear right). Left rear turn signal does not work. I was told by a mechanic this was due to the splice pack melting. He also informed me this was a known issue with Chevrolet aveo's. This should be a manufacturers issue and not the owners if it is a known hazardous issue. *js

2006 Chevrolet aveo, have had recall notice for several months. Have heard nothing new, drl fail regularly as well as passenger side running lights and dashboard lights. Has been going on for years, several mechanics have been able to make slight modifications that fix it temporarily. Aveo owners need a permanent fix immediately. *tr

The front signal light on the driver's side stopped working, so I purchased a bulb and when my son went to replace it, it was working. About two weeks later, I went to start the car and the battery was dead. The battery was charged and it worked the next day. The windshield wiper fluid motor did not work for about two years, but recently, it started working again. This sounds like an electrical problem. I have received a recall notice for the drl, but they do not have the part. *tr

Received letter stating vehicle was being included in a safety recall for the daytime running lights. Letter stated that parts were not currently available and another letter would be sent out when they did become available. Have not heard anything about parts becoming available or any other news at all. So far I have had no issues but am concerned that nothing is being done to fix this problem. *tr

Dt: the contact stated his vehicle shut down while driving. Prior to the car shutting down the engine RPM dropped and then increased suddenly. At the same time the check engine light came on. The vehicle has been intermittently losing power since the contact purchased it. This is the third time the vehicle has been in the shop for the same problem. The dealer thinks the problem lies with the PCM, but they were unable to obtain a replacement part from another vehicle. *ak

The thermostat casing and thermostat blew when I was on the freeway. When I took it to the repair person, he said the parts are really cheap. It's a design flaw and Chevy should do a recall. *tr

My 2006 Chevy aveo frontal air bag does not work 90% of the time. It has been to the dealership at least 5 times. I have called the Chevy number in the back of their book, and the manufacturer has not dealt with the issue. They have not had the problem fixed. They have made appointments for my vehicle but the air bag is still not working. I am 5 9 and 120 lbs and my husband and I can not use my vehicle because I don't have a working air bag. In this small of a car I would die in a highway accident with out an air bag. My husband gets upset that we can not use a new car with fuel economy for trips together because I'm not protected. This car is new!! The Chevy aveo is very dangerous and should not be purchased. Your family and friends will not be safe, and you will be stuck with a new and

Went to lock driver side door and inside lock would not push down and found outside lock had fallen inside the door panel. Online research indicates this is a very common problem on aveos due to defective plastic parts and dealerships seem to be charging very high amount to repair. Seems there should be a recall provided by GMC to fix this problem as prevents being able to secure the vehicle and belongings and occupants of the vehicle. *tr

The airbag light would not turn off, still at the dealer waiting for a part to come in, it was a faulty fuse in the steering wheel if in a accident airbags would not deploy. 2.the heat started working less and less, when I would come to a stop the air would come out cold, it felt like I had the air conditioning on. If it sat for too long the temperature would start to rise and it would start to overheat. *tr

Parked the car in a parking spot at a store, went inside for a little while, came back out to have the shifter not shift from park after brake pedal was depressed. I've already tried replacing the brake switch near the brake pedal and replaced the brake transaxle solenoid. Neither option has worked. Took to the dealership to have them look at it. $80 later, they want over 400 to fix the shifter by replacing the entire shift assembly. From what I have researched online, this is not the issue. This should be automatically taken care of by the dealership at no cost to us. It still is not fixed because we cannot afford to spend another 400 dollars to fix something that failed right after the 36,000 mark. *tr
