My son owns a 2006 corvette c6. He was driving for 2 years when his car went out of control and suffered a traumatic brain injury, in a coma for 6 months. His car had a "service traction stability control" indication on the dic twice within a 30 day period. He was quick to service this warning immediately with the Chevrolet dealership as the car was under warranty. Now I understand there is a real problem with the traction stability control for 2006 corvette and gm has now issued a recall. To late my son has brain damage. *tr

Bought car on a friday 12/4/2015 fuel leak under drivers side under fuel fill door. Strong fumes as well. Took back to dealer monday. Was told it will be this coming week before a technician can drop the rear suspension to get to the fuel tank. This is why I have only bought asian cars in the past. Lexus etc.

I was driving my 2006 corvette at night and all of the sudden my headlights turned off, I was surprised and confused but was able to turn my high beams on, I pulled over and tested all the lights, only the low beams did not work, from there I used the fog lights instead of the high beams so not to blind other drivers and got home. I live in a suburban area of my county where there isn't much street lighting, when this happened it was very scary, luckily I didn't crash into anyone or anything. The next night I tested the lights and they came on fine, but after driving about 20-25 minutes they shut off again, used the fog lights so I could see some of the road, but visibility is low. I work at night so now I just turn the fog lights on when I start the car so when the low beams turn o

The headlight covers are crazing over which is materially reducing the light output. 1. The covers cannot be polished. Not only does that destroy the outer coating, the crazing is through-and-through. 2. The covers are glued on and cannot be replaced by any official means, although some inventive people have managed to succeed (usually after multiple failed attempts) by sticking the entire assembly in their kitchen oven. However, [see next point] 3. The covers themselves are not available for sale. 4. The headlight assemblies themselves, which cost around $1,000 per side, are specific to the color of the car, and are now discontinued. In other words, there is no legit pathway to fixing this problem. Gm made a throwaway headlamp assembly that cost a fortune to replace when it wa

In 2010, there was a recall on my vehicle for "steering wheel position sensor." the issue was the "service active handling" warning notice was intermittently appearing in the driver information center. The remedy was to install a plastic clip. This remedy did not fix the issue and I was told I needed a new "steering wheel position sensor" and that it was not covered by the recall and it would be at my expense. I did not have the repair done at that time because I rarely drive the car, and the problem was intermittent. The dealership advised me to have a front end alignment and that seemed to fix the problem for awhile. The "service active handling" warning has returned, and I'm scheduled to have the sensor replaced for about $800. This seems to be a widely known problem in the 2005-2

I pulled the car over as soon as I could do so safely and shut the car off. After restarting it the warning went away and the steering returned to normal.

The lurch drops to the floor under acceleration, happens from a stop and under most any speed. This causes damage to the clutch causing a strong smell of burnt clutch. Dealers say I am abusing the car even though this happens sometimes under normal driving. When the clutch drops to the floor you can not shift, accurate, of disengage the clutch to prevent damage. ( damaged clutch causes chatter and slippage resulting in the dealer saying the clutch needs to be replaced) after searching the internet I found many people were having this problem. From what I can gather it is cause by a design flaw that lets the clutch fluid dirty over time. In the manual, it stats that the clutch guild does not need to be check regularly. I have read that this issue affect newer corvettes as wel
