Car stalls after fill up. Pull into traffic and you lose steering breaks ect. Need to put in park to restart. Will continue and miss and stall for about 5 miles. Once you run some fuel out of the car it runs exceptional until the next fill up.

My car from work like any normal night when all of sudden my car shut off and would not start back up. Eventually I called my insurance to have it towed home since after 11pm. The next morning I have my car towed to Dodge to be informed that engine had blown. My car gave me no indication or signs at all before this happen. The dealership informed me that the engine was blown due oil sludge. I very angry especially since Dodge only changed my oil and was not told about this earlier. My cousin has Dodge charger as well and engine blown 8 months before mine for the same reason. When I told this to the dealership they told me I shouldn't believe everything I hear. I will never buy a car from Dodge again. *tr

After filling up at a gas station, the car will stall out randomly at all speeds of travel. This is a huge safety issue that has sht down the car while merging onto freeway in front of semi-trucks only to have power steering and propulsion stop. Luckily truck was paying attention and honked and swerved around, while I rode off onto the shoulder. Then it restarted, ran for another minute and stalled again while trying to get back off the shoulder. I ended up letting it idle for 5 min before being able to merge successfully and get home. Online I have seen many people saying they have same or similar issues with their 2006 Dodge vehicles as well. Please help to get this resolved as this could have very well killed someone.

I was driving home from work, going about 40 MPH on the freeway all of the sudden engine starts running rough. Pulled over, turned off car and was never able to turn it on again. Took it to the mechanic.. He said I had a broken seat valve, everything damaged...need to replace engine. After looking up online it seems it is a known defect with the hemi engine from 2005-2006.

The first time my motor failed I was driving on the freeway 70mph and someone cut me off I hit the brakes good enough to barely avoid them crashing into me , when I tried to push the throttle immediately after the motor started jumping back and forth like it wanted to jump out of the engine bay , took it to Dodge and they said two of my cylinders were only running at half the compression meaning I had a valve issue like these cars are well known to have now. Well $5,000 later I got my car back from Dodge with one head replaced , just about 60k miles later the other head failed on me and traveled into my other head destroying that one and my pistons , just spent $9,000 to have the motor replaced and not even a 1,000 miles later I'm having the same issue . This is unacceptable I still owe mo

This is not the first time this has happened and this is flat out dangerous! After driving all day I was almost out of gas so I stopped at one of my regularly used gas stations. As like I always do when I get gas I got a full tank and I do not overfill, once the handle pops I'm done pumping. Vehicle started fine and I drove off the gas station with no problems. Once on the main road I approached my first turn and in mid turn going about 20mph my vehicle just stalled,no warning or nothing it just randomly stalled. Once the car rolled off the main street I put it in park and tried to start it up again. No luck, the vehicle wouldn't start. It took a few tries but managed to get it running again. To my surprise I didn't have a check engine light so I sat there for a while revving the engine an

At certain speeds my vehicle will vibrate. Going over speed bumps or into even the slightest pot hole the vehicle will vibrate. When slowing down or coming to a stop the front end will vibrate. Took the vehicle to the dealership and they advised my front tires needed to be changed and/or rotated to the back due to an unusual wearing on the tires. The wear was on the outisde of the tires. When took the vehicle back into Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealer service department they advised I will probably soon be needing new tire rod ends and this is what may have caused my front tires to wear so easily. Especially purchasing the car used in july 2010 with all brand new tires and now needing to replace all four and its only december 2011. Service department manager advised this was a big issue with the

At 18,500 we had to replace the left front outer tie rod end. Now at 33,000 we are being told the same thing. I have on line and see that there are quite a few others with this same problem. This is a serious issue and would like something done as far as a review or something. One gentleman was going 55 MPH when his broke and they crashed. I don't want this to be me nor do we have over $400 to put towards this car every 15k miles. *tr

My car has been stalling intermittently. But lately it's becoming more frequent. I've taken it to 3 different repair shops. Diagnostics shows P0700 and U1000 codes. The last shop charged me 150 dollars just to tell me that they don't know what's causing my car to stall. So I'm kind of lost here. Please help me.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 Dodge charger. The contact stated that there were several failures that progressed within months of owning the vehicle. The vehicle stalled several times and the instrument panel warning indicators and gauges flickered. When there was a loss of power, the doors would automatically lock and were unable to open. In addition ,the brakes failed to function properly when applied. An unknown dealer replaced the brakes and the pinion pins twice due to the wheels on the driver's side being affected due to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and the contact was waiting to determine if there was an option to trade in or buy back the vehicle. The failure mileage was not available.

2006 Dodge charges with 5.7 hemi v8 - experiencing random stalling. Happens at any speed. Everything shuts off including the power steering and ABS. First happened while merging onto freeway and I had to drive off the road to avoid a semi-truck. This happened with my young child in the vehicle. I had the gas tank, fuel canister, and purge valve replaced. The problem still occurs regardless of the amount of gas in the vehicle and regardless of when it was refueled. Even though this appears to be a common problem the dealership has been no help and even tried charging me for unnecessary diagnostics. Car does not flash a code so after replacing what was supposed to fix the issue, driving the vehicle is the only way to find out if it is fixed. This has lead to a few dangerous close ca

My 2006 Dodge charger started leaking transmission fluid. I took it to the dealership, where they told me the problem was some plug that goes into the transmission pan. The service advisor diagnosed the problem without even looking under the car, because he said there had other vehicles in for repair for the same problem. I dropped the car off the following monday for repair. The receipt states that they replaced an o-ring and bushings. It cost me a little over $153, not overly expensive for what could have been a major problem had the leak not been detected and more fluid lost. I checked in on a forum over the web and noticed other owners of the same vehicle having the same problem. I wanted to know why no recall has been filed for this. Have there not been any other complaints concer

When gas tank is filled, car will stall a few blocks later. Dodge says the sensor in the gas tank is faulty and causes the system to suck gas backwards through the vapor recovery lines and deposit it into the engine, flooding the car. All power is lost to power steering, brakes, and drive train. If you are turning when this happens, it is very dangerous and will cause a crash. Total loss of control over the vehicle. Dealership and Dodge/Chrysler acknowledge the danger (I have the emails to prove it). They say it happens all the time and they will only help with fixing the problem if you (NHTSA) asks them to recall the cars. Note that the sensor inside the gas tank is the problem. The part can be replaced, but Dodge only sells the entire gas tank as an assembly, causing increased c

Car will shut off going 45 MPH, at a stop light (0 MPH) or when crossing traffic intersections for examples (at most going 10 or 15 MPH). I will attempt to restart and the car will start up, stall up and then shut off again - when this happens, I lose power steering. I have to switch gears from drive to park and then turn the car off and then on again in hopes it will start. As you're driving, you can feel when the car is about to cut off, it throttles ahead a bit and revs, then the car beeps and turns off, while the gear is in drive and turning my wheel does nothing. I notice that this issue would usually happen after a fill up my gas tank, so I started only filling up halfway ,but the issue still persists. This issue became heavily frequent yesterday where the car stalled and cut
