When I try to start my car it doesn't want to stay running unless I push the accelerator pedal and at the same time my accelerator pedal wants to stick when I push it to go. I had it checked and nobody can seem to find the issue. *tr
This speed control problem nearly cost me my life the other night and fortunately no accident. I was driving on highway and it felt like peddle stuck...car accelerated and would not slow down . I kept hitting gas to try to release it, thought mat in way and it wasn't. Let the record reflect this car has this problem for many and if I get killed. Good luck Ford motor co. This is the 3rd time. And everyone says its just a problem with car. Well, this problem could kill someone. *tr

2006 Ford focus was involved in a two car accident while traveling at 50 MPH. A large pickup truck pulled out in front of the Ford focus, and the front passenger side of the car was severely damaged. As a result of the impact, the driver side air bag deployed (no one was in the passenger seat), but driver sustained severe injuries of the left eye including abrasions, burns, bruising, and swelling/inflammation after hitting a hard surface. Driver required medical attention. It is suspected that there was a delayed deployment of the air bag which resulted in the injuries. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 Ford focus. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH, the driver's side curtain air bag deployed without warning. The contact was not injured. 2006 Ford focus continuously gets the key stuck in the ignition it seems it is due to the gear shift not locking in place. I have had to leave the key in the ignition on a few of those occasions and place the emergency brake on. *tr
I have a 2006 Ford focus. The key has been constantly getting locked into the ignition. You cannot take it out and eventually my key broke. This happened more than once. I researched and found out that a lot of other Ford focus customers were experiencing the same thing! *tr

I purchased 2006 Ford focus zx3 in may of 2006. It was a brand new car with only 8 miles on it. When I purchased the car it was very loud and rough. I thought it was because it was new and needed some time to be driven. After three and half years nothing has changed. I called Ford companyand was told to take it to Ford dealer. (I took it to Ford dealership and told them what the problem was. I also stated that it stops shifting into 4th gear and will not shift up if I have to accelerate quickly. The dealer info: Ford bredemann 2038 waukegan road glenview, il 60025 (847) 510-5585). I left the car for about a week and when I came to pick it up I was told that engine and transmission were on good condition. There are some things that needed to be changed like tires..etc.. For the 3rd time a rear door lock on my Ford focus has failed. Twice on right once on left. The lock jams. Cannot lock. But a danger to a child in the car as you cannot open the door from the inside. Nor can you secure the car from car jackers since it will not lock,. *tr

Gas pedal started sticking irregularly at around 30,000 miles, even at low speeds. Was very sporadic. Most recent event happened 12/5/2014 when gas pedal was frozen completely while traveling at 70 MPH. It wouldn't budge. Then I put my foot on the lowest edge of the pedal and it started working again. If you google "Ford focus gas pedal sticks", there are numerous complaints. The throttle body is the apparent cause. Ford should recall these vehicles due to the number of complaints online. *tr

I noticed that there was excessive tire wear on rear tires. At 20k miles the rear tires are almost bald 2/32 of tread left. There appears to be an alignment issue that dealer would not cover under warranty. I was told that alignment is only covered for first 12k miles. The front was aligned under warranty after a bad tire was found at scheduled service. It is so bad now that when you his a bump in the road the rear of the car jumps to one side. *tr
