All bags in the car failed to open upon impact, don't buy "Hyundai"s and Hyundai said that since 2002 they knew about this problem. With elantras and other models. But did nothing to fix them. *tr

Defect of airbag safety equipment. The malfunction of the occupant classification system (ocs) in the right front seat. The purpose of the ocs is to disable the right passenger seat front air bag when it detects the presence of a child restraint system or small child in the right front seat. The right front air bag is disabled to prevent injuries to a child that may result from a right front air bag inflation during a crash. The above is taken from an active recall on another Hyundai model with the same equipment. This was the second time this happened while my wife was seated in the front passenger seat while the vehicle was moving. The warning light came on for no apparent reason and showed the passenger airbag was not active. Common sense would warrant concern about this being
Air bag light came on 2 weeks ago, technician said the code is b1448 passenger seat mat cushion sensor. I am told that all air bags are now disabled and this is a very expensive repair. I see several complaints on this issue in just the latest incident reports. This should be repaired by Hyundai at no cost to the consumer.
The vehicle was involved in an accident where the owner would have expected the side impact airbag to deploy and offer protection against injury. Despite extensive damage to the driver's side of the elantra and the deployment of the front (I.e. Steering wheel) airbag, the side impact airbag did not deploy. The elantra took a direct hit from another vehicle at approximately a 90 degree angle (I.e. It was "t-boned"). The force of the impact spun the elantra 180 degrees from the direction it was traveling. The impact begins on the driver's door, but is deepest in the back-seat passenger's door. The maximum depth of the indentation is approximately 6 inches inward and is approximately 20 inches wide. The vehicle that hit the elantra was going approximately 55 MPH.
Air bag light on dash is lit all the time. Dealer has reset the light on two occasions, but it keeps coming back after a few drives in the car. Dealer says the passenger seat occupant sensor is shorted out. Dealer informed me that while the air bag light is lit, the air bags are disabled and will not deploy, even if in an accident. Now I own a car that will not protect me in a crash and is unsafe to drive. Dealer says the only repair is to replace the entire passenger seat bottom costing over $1400. The car is not worth much more than that, but it is worth alot to me because I need it for transportation.
No accident occurred. Airbag light stays illuminated. Dealer says it is sensor in passenger side airbag. When dealer received part it would not fit because it is a three-prong design rather than a two prong design such as was originally installed. Dealer indicates that Hyundai switched to a three-prong design in mid-2006 model year. This necessitates the purchase of a seat cushion for the car that the three prong sensor can plug into. The sensor price with labor is about $300 and the seat cushion part price is $800. I believe that there have been other complaints about this problem and that elantras from 2007 model year forward have been recalled for this same thing. I believed that a class action suit on this problem was filed in california alleging among many other things that Hyundai ha
The car airbag light intermittently comes on. It does not seem to be related to anything in particular. A mechanic read code b1448 for a defective passenger side seat occupancy sensor. It seems this is a common problem with Hyundai's and the accent's were recalled but not the elantra. I suspect the same or similar problem is happening with the 2016 Hyundai elantra occupant sensor.
I noticed that my airbag light stays on near my dashboard where are the speedometer is and when I have passengers in my car the passenger airbag light is off I don't believe my sensors work for my airbags

Brake light switch malfunction resulted in brake light failure. Part number 93810-3k000. This part has been recalled in puerto rico only, but failure of this part may indicate a more geographically widespread problem. This vehicle was purchased in hawaii. *tr
Cruise control failed to disengage when brake was applied. The cause was a defective stop lamp switch. Vehicle was not covered by tsb 09-01-018. *tr
Brake lights fail to illuminate when brake pedal is depressed. Dealership says it is not part of recall 09v28000 but it is the same issue. How does this not fit the recall???? *tr

Upon application of brake pedal there was a loud grinding sound from the right rear. I took the car to a reputable brake service provider who informed me that the right rear brake drum could not be removed due the fact that the shoes were extended to far. There was no way to manually adjust them in as there was no access hole on the backside of the drum. They informed me that to attempt to remove them under the conditions created there would be damage or destruction of parts involved. Provider was able to visibly inspect the brake shoes and determined that there was plenty of material remaining. Why would there be no access to adjust? *tr
Brake light switch failed and while traveling on vacation had car on cruise control and brake pedal did not deactivate the cruise control. Have not used cruise control since but brake lights still don't work and it is affecting cars remote start that the dealer installed. Car will not shut off buy depressing brake pedal. And after turning key to on position and then off and removing the key the car is still running. *tr
My 2006 Hyundai elantra brake lights have stopped functioning all of a sudden. I replaced both bulbs and nothing changed. There is a safety recall for this model vehicle for a brake light switch malfunction and describes in detail the exact problem with my car but my VIN does not appear to qualify for this campaign.

I have had the same problem and this is the 16th time as of 12/06/2011. The problem started off with the car stalling when I came to a stop then, it progressively became worse where the car stalls while driving. The car has had the canister assembly replaced many times and the problem still occurs. I do have copies of all of the work orders. This is a list of the events: 1. 12/01/2007 for stalling. This visit they claimed that it was a "hard start" and replaced the battery. 2. 05/09/2008 for stalling. Replaced sensor assy-air flow 3. 05/29/2008 for stalling. Replaced the purge valve and canister. 4. 06/10/2009 for stalling. They stated the canister and car was fine. 5. 09/17/2009 for stalling. Engine overheats and causes it to become disabled on highways. Most recent was on 11/18/2010 while traveling from west palm beach, fl to port st lucie, fl on the florida turnpike. The vehicle had to be towed to north palm beach Hyundai dealer, lake park, fl. The service manager said that the headgasket and possible the engine will need to be replaced to overheating. The damages are in excess of $2500-$4000 dollars to repair.the vehicle has had water leakage into the interior of the vehicle on the passenger front seat side. It was purchased from al packer Ford, west palm beach in 2007. This is not only a costly matter but a dangerous matter as well to be driving in a vehicle that was so hot it could of caught on fire. And especially being disabled on a major highway too. We want someone to

Driving on 495 washington beltway, heard a loud noise, I thought something had hit the car I look all around and saw the sunroof had exploded. There was no sign that something had hit the sunroof. It looked like it was pushed up from the inside. I took it to the dealer and they said this had never happen before and the Hyundai rep said it couldn't happen by itself and refuse to cover the damage under warranty. The cost was almost $1000. *tr
