I was driving home christmas morning and a few miles before I got home the lower and higher ball joints separated from each other. I had no control of the vehicle, thankfully there was no one else on the road with me. I was headed straight on road when incident happened. My air bag light indicator activated, and at the same time my horn stopped working! After having it checked out by a repair shop, it was determined that a faulty clock spring assembly is the cause of the problem. This assembly has been responsible for the malfunction of air bags in other 2006 Jeep liberty's; however, recalls of this problem apply to other VIN numbers (beginning with the letter k). I have been told by a Jeep dealership that the cost of repairs will exceed $400.00, and that my vehicle is currently not on the recall list. How is it possible that clock spring assembly's are that much different amongst the different VIN numbers? I am highly suspicious, and in the meantime I have been told that in addition to having no horn that my air bags would not employ in the event the

I have a 2003 Jeep liberty sport and I was recently driving it when the entire system completely shut down. I was able to pull over to the side of the road. It restarted and I went a little further and it completely shut down again. I lost power to steering and was fortunately able to guide it off the main highway without any power. It would not continue running after that. It would start but then shut down right off. I ended up having it towed to a Jeep dealership where I found out two sensors in the computer had gone bad. I had to pay to have the sensors replaced in addition to the tow. I am concerned about what would have happened if I had been on an interstate going at a high rate of speed and those sensors would have gone bad causing me to lose power in traffic. I wonder if s

When changing brake pads, I noticed a bubble on the side of the brake line. All 4 brake lines were involved. The bubble was on the rubber portion of the line close to the caliper. I made an appointment with the local dealership to have the lines replaced. Their inspection identified a fifth line with a rupture also. All were replaced. Since this is a safety component I asked if Jeep was replacing the parts and was informed it was not covered by them or my extended warranty. This vehicle is a 2006 Jeep liberty and had 48,870 miles at the time. *tr

Vehicles stalls after extended off period. Vehicle shudders under normal driving conditions. Chrysler has 2 tsbs to fix this- 21-016-05 and 21-009-06 which calls for replacing a trouble prone torque converter. Chrysler has an updated torque converter to fix this problem yet will not take action to fix the vehicle even after numerous attempts since 2006 to get transmission fixed properly. I would like this looked into as myself and numerous other owners of the 2005-2006 Jeep liberty with the diesel engine experience the same issue. The truck has stalled after starting on several occasions causing concern for action since I have had my pregnant wife witness this. Please look into this. *tr
