I was told by the land rover service manager shon torres that the steering columns on vehicles of this manufacturing year and the years surrounding it have often had issues where the steering column will stop recognizing the key. He went on to say that many times no keys can be reprogrammed to the steering column and at that point you would have to purchase a new dyeing column which costs around $10,000. This has happens once so far and I had to purchase 2 new keys and have them programmed. One day I drove the car to work and when I for in it to leave for the night, it would not do anything when I turned the key, not even would the lights come on. #2 is an ongoing issue within the same models that there is a leak that happens somewhere near the rear wiring when it rains it causes there

When I backed my range rover up over the side curb it locked my steering. I can only turn my wheel when the truck is driving it has no power while in just sitting at a light. Makes it difficult to park my truck because I can't turn the wheel without gas to the truck. I took it to auto zone to see if it was power steering but no noise the fluids are in there.
The steering column mobization have gone on it. And the range rover dealership want to fix it for 8700.00 I can't afford it and I'm an elderl. Please find out is there a recall.
The differential failed on my range rover is making loud humming sounds.
The vehicle ignition lock is not accepting the key, after removing the ignition fuse the system is re-set and key will start vehicle and unlock steering wheel lock. Took vehicle to land rover service center and was told by service advisor that this is a "very common" problem with the model year 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009. The only fix will be a replacement of entire steering column, after each shut off the ignition needs to be reset in order to start the vehicle. This temporary "fix" can result in sudden lock of the steering wheel while driving. So far I had 2 issues that the vehicle started but did not unlock the steering wheel lock. *tr

Vehicle shuts down on slight incline( traction system engages) dealer say normal, happens on a daily basis. *jb
Front differential making grinding noise, shop says it needs to be replaced.
The front wheels locked up and caused the car to veer dangerously and screech to a halt. This was due to a failed front differential which, upon more online research is a common issue with this model. It was replaced by the dealer at a cost of $3,000. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 land rover range rover. When the vehicle was started, all the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle would not continuously run without all of the indicators illuminating in error. The vehicle was not taken to the local dealer for repairs. The manufacturer was not contacted. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 160,000.
This vehicle was taken back by the manufacturer for electrical issues it was then resold. I just purchased it and it has serious electrical issues. I have owned it a month and it had codes within 48 hours of purchase. System failure codes. The battery is good and is drained every night and every time I go to work. This vechicle is essentially usuless and I just purchased it. It flashes random tire pressure system failure codes when it wants. Just random. It is one thing after another. Luckily nothing super safety related yet. It was manufactured wrong and was never repaired and now I am stuck with a vehicle I can't use after I have made one payment on it.

engine 2 complaints shown
I have owned two 2006 range rover hse. The first one land rover purchased back from me due to their failure to be able to fix the problem with the engine smoking and losing power. They told me at the time that my vehicle was the only one in north america to have this particular problem. It had around 13,000 miles on it when they purchased it back from me. The vehicle had been in the shop for one week the first time on a different problem and then when it went in for the smoking engine it was in the shop for about 5 weeks before they bought it back and at that time I purchased another 2006 range rover hse. My latest range rover is in the shop for the smoking engine and loss of power. I guess that I have the only two vehicles now in north america that are experiencing these issues, but
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 land rover range rover. While driving 30 MPH, the contact noticed smoke rising from the vehicle. He was unable to determine where the smoke originated, however, he noticed flames underneath the hood. The fire extinguished after ten minutes. The vehicle was towed. airbags 2 complaints shown
Passenger side dashboard has cracking around the airbag system. I took it to three independent upholstery shops and they all decline to perform any repair due to safety/liability concerns. They say it is fairly common for my year/make/model vehicle. I'm fearful that this presents some issues with airbag deployment, or may simply be a design flaw by landrover. *tr
The passenger side airbag on the dashboard is starting to prematurely split on top of the dashboard surface around the entire outline of the airbag. The crack has progressed in a precious outline of the cutout of the airbag. After contacting land rover of america on multiple occasions, they considers this as a "wear and tear" and they state this will not effect the safety of the vehicle. Note: this is a common problem that owners of the 2006-2009 models have been experiencing (per multi land rover website forums) that land rover has now redesigned the dashboard on the newer models to have the cutout of the airbag already designed into the dashboard so this type of defect will not occur. I'm very concerned with this type of design defect especially if the airbag is needed during a collis
brakes 2 complaints shown
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 land rover range rover. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v039000 (service brakes, hydraulic), but the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
There is a recall on my front brake lines. The recall number is 15v-039. I had my brake lines replaced prior to the recall being issued. The recall states that the manufacturer will replace the brake lines for free or reimburse me if I had the lines done prior to the recall. I presented a receipt for the repair and the dealer in little rock is refusing to reimburse me. They stated that the repair must be performed by an authorized land rover dealer using land rover parts. I had the repair performed using land rover parts, however I did not take it to a dealer. My mechanic worked for this dealership for several years and is an authorized land rover mechanic when he left. I view this as an attempt to try and not pay me and I don't think it is reasonable or fair. I would sincerely appreciate
