2006 Lincoln Mark LT owner complaints

Tl*- the contact purchased a 2006 Lincoln, it was leaking transmission oil. The vehicle caught fire after repair on 11/14. Fire dept said the fire was of unknown origin. The vehicle had been driven 50 miles when the contact stopped to get gas when she noticed smoke entering the passenger compartment of the car and under the hood. She injured her knee trying to get her grandson out of his car seat. The fire department was call but did not arrive before flames were visible.

Lincoln mark lt 2006. As my father proceeded down his drive-way stopping in front of his garage the truck suddenly accelerated in excess of 40 miles an hour. The truck went through the garage door hitting his Cadillac escalade, and pushing the escalade through the north wall of his garage. Estimated damage to garage, Lincoln, and escalade exceeds $30,000.00. Neither airbag deployed, and the only thing that saved him from going all the way through the garage was that the escalade took the force of the collision. Previously, my father had owned a Ford f150, and he also had unexplained acceleration that caused damage. Faulty code comes on at between 50 _ 60 MPH and the sterring and brakes lockes up and engine shuts off

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 Lincoln mark lt. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH the engine lost power causing the vehicle to stall. The contact merged the vehicle onto the shoulder where it restarted immediately. The engine safe light illuminated each time the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer three times for the failure. A diagnostic test was performed; however, there were no codes indicating there was a problem. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 43,000 and the current mileage was 90,300.

During a 100k mile tune up, I attempted to change spark plugs. Out of 3 plugs, 2 broke off in engine block. The truck was then taken to a mechanic who broke off 3 more. They told me that Ford is very aware of the problem and would not do anything about it. It cost me $800 to have spark plugs removed. Now it appears that a part of the old plug broke off into the cylinder head, not removed by original shop, causing more damage that is currently being looked at by another shop.

I have a powertrain warranty for my truck an Ford says I have sludge in engine an I gave them all oil change receipts my warranty is up in oct 2011 an Ford is dying to fix it please help. *tr

The engine stop running sometimes. It says "engine fail safe mode" need to completely stop and restart the engine.. Then okay.. It happens not only once but few times already..it happens when the car is in motion..running around 40 to 60 miles MPH.

The vehicle has an abnormal vibration when traveling 65 MPH and more. I've owned the vehicle less than 2 weeks and it has been at the Ford dealerships service dept. 3 times. The dealership has not fixed the problem and does not know the cause of this problem. The dealership service dept. Informed me all of the same type of vehicles they have in there inventory have the same problem. The dealership has balanced the original tires, replaced the original tires with new tires and checked front end alignment. *jb

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 Lincoln mark lt. While driving 45 MPH, the suspension loosened and the vehicle dropped to the ground. The tires began to skid and the vehicle struck a mountain and bounced back into traffic. There were no other vehicles involved in the crash. After the vehicle was inspected, the contact was informed that the front strut was welded incorrectly. The purchase date was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 20,300. Updated 01/14/08. *lj upon inspection, the welding was not properly fused to the shaft. Under stress the shaft came apart and locked the wheel. Welding on two sides of the shaft was not sufficient to hold the stress load. Updated *jb

While driving 60 MPH a car made a left in front of our vehicle hitting us. I had a passenger in the truck with me. The front airbags on the other vehicle went off, while ours failed to do so. Nether the passenger or driver's airbags went off. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 Lincoln mark lt. While driving 30 MPH, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that there might be a failure with the air bag module. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 115,000.

Dt*: the contact stated while driving 5 MPH, the brake was applied on the vehicle. However, the vehicle accelerated, causing the vehicle to collide with a garage door, causing substantial damage to the door. The vehicle was taken to a service dealer, who was unable to determine the problem. The contact expressed that the cause of the problem was that the brake pedal was too close to the accelerator pedal, causing inadvertent depression of the accelerator pedal when the brake was depressed.

Dt*: the contact stated on 6/16/2006,while stopped, the engine began reving, making a sound (whua, whua, whua, whumph), and then lunged forward. At the same time the breaks failed. There have been 20 occurances, including 6 accidents. Property damages occurred on two occasions although there were no police reports filed. The dealer attempted to fix the problem, but when the problem continued they offered to buy back the vehicle and send it to the manufacturer for examination.

The vehicle was repaired and diagnosed that the fuel pump module needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 144,000. The VIN was not available.

Vehicle has vibration in steering when going about 50 MPH and vibration gets worse faster the vehicle is driven. Vehicle has had the vibration from the very first day it was purchased in december of 2005. Was told by the dealsership that vehicle needed tire balancing but that didn't solve the problem. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership about 6 times for the same problem since it was purchased. Dealership replaced two front tires on the Lincoln' recmendation but that didn't not solve the problem. They also replaced drive shaft and transmission and steering dampners. They also did a tsb called indexing tires couple of weeks ago but vibration is still there. I called Lincoln out of fraustration and they told me they will get back to me after they speak with somone from the dealersh

The contact owns a 2006 Lincoln Mark LT. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle unexpectedly accelerated, and the instrument panel failed to display properly. The contact also stated that after refueling the vehicle, there was an abnormally strong gasoline odor inside the cabin of the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that the fuel tank could be filled. The contact also stated that the windshield wipers occasionally operated independently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the fuel sensor and the instrument cluster had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made

Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle was purchased in a state outside of the where the vehicle resided. There was rusting on the frame of the windshield. When the sales dealer was contacted they referred the contact to the local dealer who referred the contact to the manufacturer. The manufacturer referred the contact back to the local dealership. The contact was concern that the vehicle showed corrosion in the interior and this problem could be in other places that could not easily seen.

I picked up my truck from dealership for recall and warranty issues. Drove an hour and a half, parked my car. Returned home that hour and a half, came to a complete stop at a traffic light,close to home. While I was stopped the truck accelerated, now with both feet on the brake, I still hit the car ahead of me. Fortunately due to my quick reaction, the damage was only to my bumper. None to the other car. I called the dealership and asked them if when they had the dashboard all apart for 2 days, could they have done something? Of course they said no. They told me that my foot was probably on both the accelerator and brake at the same time? I looked at it and they are not that close together. Also I was already at a complete stop when it happened. I am to scared to get close to any car now.

There are currently two 2006 Lincoln mark lt pick up trucks in the service dept. At queen city Lincoln mercury @ 7301 south blvd, charlotte, nc 28273 with the same problem. Mine is one of them. The vehicle has 5000 miles on it, has been there for 23 days, and they can not figure out why the vehicle shakes and vibrates as if running over rumble strips at 20 - 25 MPH. Sounds like unsafe construction to me that should be declared a public safety hazard. The trucks are from 2 different states originally so it is not a matter of one delivery of 2 bad vehicles. *nm
