- vehicle is subject to takata airbag recall. Located in zone a - received multiple notices in mail since 2016. - Mazda website does not acknowledge a recall exists when trying to schedule an appointment - they acknowledge it when phoned in - recall always quoted to take a day, with no alternate transport available. Despite mailer saying free alternative transport available. I've tried multiple times. - I need a vehicle - always. Right now my choice is to continue driving my car (at risk of 'serious injury or death') or lose my livelihood.

Potential rear end collision: I own a 2006 Mazda 6 VIN [xxx]. I have experienced frequent times when I have accelerated onto the highway (or any other need to avoid a collision) and have experienced a severe loss of power/acceleration. This could have easily resulted in a rear-end collision had the cars behind me not reacted immediately. I have notified the local dealership and "Mazda customer satisfaction" of this problem and was told that my vehicle is "out of warranty. I also found that Mazda has issued a tsb #05-016-06 that explains the potential cause. Mazda is aware of this problem. 5 months ago, took car to Mazda dealer for timing chain, vvt noise and was replaced under extended warranty. Last month started to feel intermittent loss of power during quick acceleration followed by plume of smoke at the tail pipe. Took to local mechanic shop and was told there was heavy carbon buildup at the valves as well as mass air flow sensor, o2 sensor, and other engine components. The bill was for about 1800 worth of parts and labor for deep cleaning the valves (intake manifold removed). After repairs were completed, took car home and drove for about 25 miles when I heard a loud bang from the engine compartment. The engine suddenly stopped and I smelled burnt oil and smoke inside the cabin. I was able to steer the car to the side and looked under the car to find large amount

The transmission seems to lock up and rev at a high rate, then the cars bucks and either engages at a lower gear or you have to slow to a crawl before the transmission engages. This has happened at low speed and traveling on the interstate with traffic all around, including a semi-truck right behind my vehicle. This is a definite problem and safety hazard. *tr

Car is mint for age. Stock oem hid style headlights failed, headlights are still clear. The turn signals failed and activated safetys. Ground plug under air filter assembly that is a piece of metal bolted to car with 5 wires that plug into it corroded so bad no ground connection and each of the wires made no connection to the plug. No info on how to diagnose and/or repair. Common problem. Took everything apart and soaked all corroded parts in a solution of CLR, everything put back together clean with dielectric grease. Numerous shops could not diagnose including 1 dealer. Said headlights needed to be replaced at $500+/ side parts only. Very common on the rare factory installed HID systems. Wiring is different.

I was sitting at a red light, my driver side door started to smoke. I was able to let it air out enough to drive home. As soon as I made it home, the smoke started pouring out of the window control and the whole door panel, rushed to get my kids out of the car. As the smoke thickened a fire started, I was able to put it out with a fire extinguisher before too much damage was caused. *js
