Was hearing noise and took car to dealership and was told that I have 4 cracked rims and should buy new ones for 3067.00. I was told that yes the dealership does send there rims to be chromed but of course they said they didn't do mine. I told them I didn't do it. Nothing was done to fix the problem, was offered a free tow cause was told car was unsafe to drive. So I am out of pocket almost 1900.00. The service manager at dealership told me if I wasn't willing to pay the 3067.00 dollars for new rims that I should start by looking at the junk yard. I have 2 Nissan bulletins reference # ntb92-123a and ntb92-123c which clearly discourages what Nissan is doing regarding the chroming of rims. *tr

I own a 2006 Nissan 350z with chrome wheels. Three of the wheels are cracked and the car is unsafe to drive. Through the process of trying to get Nissan to replace the wheels, I learned that the wheels on the car are after-market re-chromed wheels. Nissan is not being helpful in getting the problem resolved by replacing the wheels. I am referencing NHTSA defect action number pe06050 and engineering analysis ea07005. *tr

This complaint is being filed as part of an official california highway patrol investigation into a major injury traffic collision involving a law enforcement officer. The chp mait investigation # is sl-45-06. The traffic collision occurred on october 11, 2006, within los angeles county and involved a 2006 Nissan 350zx. During the collision, the left front wheel separated from the vehicle and bounced over the freeway divider and impacted a law enforcement motor officer traveling upon the opposite side of the freeway. A preliminary inspection of the wheel indicates a probable structural failure of the wheel (mechanical defect). A review of the NHTSA complaint data base indicates that the failure of the wheel is similar to the failure noted in NHTSA complaint #10164822. *nm

Heard some squeaking from front left tire. I inspected the chrome wheel and found all 5 spokes had cracks in them all the way through. I had the vehicle inspected and found all 4 chrome wheels had cracks and was advised to park vehicle as it was not safe to drive. I contacted the service manager at my dealership and he advised that the rims on my vehicle were sent out to be chromed by someone else other than Nissan causing Nissan not to be responsible for these cracked rims. This vehicle, a touring roadster 350z was bought new from a Nissan dealership with these chrome rims already on them, this other dealership also happens to be owned by the current dealership I go to. The service manager said the dealership also would not be responsible because they only warranty this for 3years/36,000

I noticed my 2006 350z was using small amounts of oil between oil changes. Around 21,000 miles I saw a dramatic increase in oil usage. More than 1 quart low at only 1900 miles into my oil change. I have been working with dealer to show oil consumption and it has increased as time has gone on. This will result in decreased value of my car as the word gets out to the general public. I will not be able to get a fair trade in value or even sale my auto once the knowledge of oil usage is public. The dealer keeps telling me that they will replace the engine, but has failed to do so or even give me a date for the replacement. I feel they are downplaying my situation in the hopes that I will just go away. Nissan was aware of this issue in mid 2005. I purchased my car in mid 2006. I feel this s

I purchased a 2006 Nissan 350z manual 6 speed. After several thousand miles, the car started to burn an excessive amount of oil. I was told that this was normal. I stated that this was a new car and new cars do not burn oil. Nissan consumer relations was contacted and after almost a year and with many threats to hire an attorney and sue for consumer fraud, Nissan finally agreed to replace the engine. I have 3,000 miles on the new engine, and even though it is not consuming oil as before, it is still burning some, which is not normal. This has created a situation where I need to carry oil with me constantly in case the oil level goes low and I have to replace burned oil. This could result in a dangerous situation if I need to stop on a freeway or in heavy traffic. *tr

The contact was able to pull over and restart the vehicle and the vehicle regained functionality. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. On 10/6/2010 I took my vehicle in for an oil change and evaluation of problem in shifting manual transmission. The transmission had problem with 1-2 and 4-3 shifts with grinding and difficulty shifting. The car was found to have a faulty transmission. The vehicle was also found to have, as stated by the tech, no visible oil in the engine. This indicates a consumption of 5+ quarts within 6500 miles. A tsb by Nissan: ntb07-088 dates back to 2007 of high oil consumption. The newest tsb (ntb07-088d) only replaces the short-block of the engine as was done by the dealer. This has not addressed the damage of the engine due to oil starvation, as the tsb covers only partial oil consumption, not near total as in this case. As of the repair, the engine has a rougher idle and the new tra

Purchased a new Nissan 350z 2006 model year with the rev-up enginein june 2006. At 2300 miles, august 2006-check engine light came on and dealer had to replace over 2quarts of oil. Asked to return at 500 mile intervals for checks, fist 500miles oil indicates less than half on the high to low mark on the dipstick. 1000 miles, more than 1quart added to engine. 1500 miles, less than 1/2 on the dipstick. 2000 miles, added over 1quart of oil and now started 'consumption' test. Filed for repurchase-and received response from Nissan that 'some' oil consumption was normal. Filed for state lemon law and now awaiting arbitration.

I own a 2006 Nissan 350z coupe that consumes entirely too much oil. I regularly change the oil myself every 3000 miles, yet in between changes the vehicle consumes anywhere from 2 to 4 quarts. It appears that many consumers with this particular vehicle year and model have had the same problem. I wanted to bring this issue to your attention because I'm sure many other consumers have had this issue. *tr

I recently bought a used vehicle at norfolk motorsports in norfolk va. They had bought the vehicle thru inspection and it did not pass it, according to the manager, it was missing the air bag on the passenger and they was going to buy the whole component for it instead. I had a meeting with the owner of the company along with the manager, salesperson; the owner had stated to me and my fianc at the time that he could have easily clipped the wire to the seat and it would pass inspection. About two weeks later I finally received the vehicle and now the passenger air bag light is showing that its on "off", to me, this indicates that they tripped the wire to let it pass inspection. I also believe that they tripped the wires for the tires lights on it. I had asked for money back but would

Tire size 265/35ZR19 driving down highway at 55 mph when tire blew out. I was able to lucklily get the shoulder and it looked like my tire was cut open with a can opener on the sidewall. The tpms sensor was working fine and they were never plugged and had plenty of tread. I sent pictures of the damage to continental that just replies they’re not warranted. If you google continental blow outs you will see tires and even recalls that look just like mine. I bought a 2006 350z in 2007 and have replaced brakes and rotors once already and not 6 months later had to get the rotors resurfaced again. In addition to this problem I have replaced all 4 tires twice. The front and rear were way out of alignment as well. Also, the electrical component that moves the driver seat forward and back is sticking, not always allowing the seat to move. *tr

While driving in a heavy rain, with the windshield wipers on a medium speed, the wipers stopped. By turning off and on the wipers, I could not get them to restart. While trying to get to the shoulder of the road, the wipers began working again on their own. They were off for approximately 45 seconds. This happened again, approximately 1 month later. In a 45 minute drive home, in heavy rain, the wipers quit on 3 occasions. Each stoppage seem to last for 30-45 seconds. They would restart on their own, there didn't seem to be anything that I could do to start them. I took the car to a Nissan dealership to fix. They said that they could not find the problem and to bring it back when it was happening all the time. I told them that it was too dangerous and I did not want to drive it I

Sometimes driving, I hear light crackling noise comes and goes. For 9 months checkup, I mentioned it to dealer. He said they test drove it and everything was fine. On sat evening, 8-25, the front rt side of rim cracked & came out bouncing off freeway! Scary & dangerous! We just let the car slide and scrape on three wheels off the next exit. I had spare tire put on & slowly got the car back home, in shock! Monday I had car towed to nearest dealer & they weren't able to fix my car because of the wheels. I didn't know why....but manager there called for my permission to have it towed back to my dealer with all charges paid by dealer. I was disappointed, disrespected, mistreated,& lied to. Bought car in good faith & they lied to me some more! I called nis manuf consumer affairs & found out t

Issue with cam shaft sensor failure. Replaced bank 2 and now bank 1. This is a known issue according to all of the people complaining. This was part of a recall for 2003 models, but not for 2006 models. Car has 121,000 miles and runs smooth, except for the cam shaft sensor failures. It is becoming dangerous, because it is killing the engine when it trips and having that happen at 70mph on the interstate is a concern for injury.
