Was going home after work one night and headlights, and instrument panel turned off by themselves. I could not turn them back on ( I was going 60 on the freeway).I kept driving and they turned on by themselves after about two or three minutes. It got worse as time passed, and now only the high beams work, the low beams do not work at all. Low beam fuses, and low beam relay are all good. No one knows what is wrong with it. Also sometimes there is a loud pop sound from the speakers when starting the car up. When this happens it seems there is some type of power surge, and then I have to keep entering the correct time and date because it always goes to jan. 1st.. Need all these electrical issues fixed, there is a serious safety hazard involved here. *tr

Car has been continually overheating, radiator has been flushed and refilled with fresh coolant and new thermostat was bled. Car is fine while driving over 50mph but overheats when in traffic at a light. Driver back window motor is out, the window goes down but won't go up. The car stopped abruptly while driving and had to pull on the side don't know what happened but it won't start up but the lights come on inside the vehicle. I have had trouble since purchasing this vehicle. Gm needs to take this vehicles completely off the road they have stop making them and I can see why they're nothing but money eaters.

When using the turn signal, the vehicle's high beams may turn on without intent. This could potentially blind other drivers on the road and cause an accident. This happens when the vehicle is stationary, in motion, and turning. Cold weather amplifies the issue. The issue is demonstrated in this youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36scdplz3dk

I have been having startup issues with my car. When trying to start the car, it makes a clicking sound and will not turn on. I have to jump start my car witb a halo portable charger, every single time I want to drive it. Sometimes my car cuts off and loses power while I'm driving which has almost caused me an accident twice! My car has randomly cut off in motion while I was on the highway, approaching an intersection, and on a rural road in another city. I have called before and was told to file a complaint online. This issue started happening a year ago but only occasionally. Now this happens frequently. I assumed I had a bad battery or alternator or starter, so I replaced all three parts, including spark plugs, wires and air filters. I'm still having the same issue and need this resolved

4t65e-hd automatic transmission failure. Car does not engage any gear to include reverse. According to general motors, this transmission is rated to handle 280 pound feet of torque. However, it was mounted in a vehicle (2006 grand prix gxp) which by general motors' own admission makes 323 pound feet of torque. Therefore, by general motors' own admission, the transmission they selected for this vehicle was never designed to handle the motor to which of was mated. Max torque for this vehicle occurs at just 3800 RPM. It would seem then that an individual would not need to be engaging in hard or abusive driving to exceed the design specification of this transmission. *tr

The transmission is constantly slipping in and out of overdrive. It is still doing this after a 2nd transmission flush. The first was done before 50k miles. Then second was done recently. This is still an issues. Both times there were no metal shavings found during the change. *tr

Bought a "nice" used Pontiac grand prix gxp in 2008 (an 06 model). The car only had around 17,000 miles on it. This car has been the biggest money pit ever. I am so disappointed with this vehicle. I have prided myself in buying american made vehicles, but not anymore! First of all, the tire sizing and the price of the tires, ridiculous! The power steering line broke, and of course it wasn't the line that was covered under recall, there has always been a noise in the front end, especially going at a slower speed and over bumps, kind of popping, I've always felt that there was something wrong in the front end. In oct. 2010, the hubs and bearings were replaced, they were still under warranty, but we had to pay a deductible, which was quite a bit, then in july 2011, with 60,000 some odd miles

Twice, my 2006 grand prix gxp has worn out both front brake pads and rotors. The first incident socked me to the tune of almost $700! The first occurrence was with fewer than 13kmiles on the car. This time, I am at just over 30kmiles and have not yet approached my dealership about the problem! Neither time was there ever a brake-wear sensor indicator noise; by the time any noise was heard, the rotors were destroyed! I have read other grand prix gxp owners saying the exact, same thing on many automotive-related websites/blogs. Pontiac division of general motors has been absolutely no help with this unacceptably poor performance!!! I feel that this is less of a brake system problem and more of a front suspension defect; taking particular note this time, the only noise is made when I turn the

While driving car shuts off "dic" states " starting disabled due to throttle control. Reduced engine power". I took it to mccarthy dealership in lees summit mo they supposedly fixed recall-key only but the recall#14350 states "dealers will install 2 key rings & an I insert in the key slot or a coner over the key head on all ignition keys" it ran ok for a while then started doing it again. Took it back 12/8/2016 & was told to do a diagnostic ck it would cost 130. Was told the recall was for the keys only not the ignition. My daughter drives this car too it stop running in the mistake of an intersection. Please help *tr
