Takata recall contacted three Cadillac dealers before finding one that would handle the recall. Contacted bush auto place in wilmington, oh and was told we do not work on saabs and they would not do the recall. Very rude and short. Also contacted gusweiller Cadillac in washington court house, oh and told the same, but they were very cordial about it. Finally, I contacted camargo Cadillac in cincinnati, oh and they were over the top nice and on top of things. They were more than happy to assist with the recall and it has now been completed.

1. The events leading up to the failure. None 2. The failure, how often it occurs, and its consequences. Periodic uncommanded changes in throttle. Dealership test equipment shows evidence of data corruption on channel 1 of the two channel throttle position sensor (tps) occurring every couple of seconds. Driver perception of problem is in form of jerky throttle response at low throttle with one instance of sudden, uncommanded acceleration. The sudden throttle changes have resulted in traction loss on slippery roads severe enough that the vehicle departed the roadway. 3. What was done to correct the failure; I.e, parts repaired or replaced (and if old part is available) dealership replaced throttle body, wiring harness, and engine control module in an attempt to resolve tps data
Major leakage from coolant expansion tank. Saab dealer reported the tank had cracked and required replacing. Tank replaced. Service mgr stated that saab has an issue with these tanks on the 2.8 v6 turbo engines. *tr
For the second time in 24 hours the coolant tank has failed. This time it required the car to be towed back to the dealer for repairs. Tank leaked all the coolant from the system due to tank failure. *tr
In august 2007, we had to have our 2006 saab 9-3 sportcombi towed to the dealership, as the coolant expansion tank ruptured while on the highway and all the coolant had leaked from the engine. The coolant expansion tank was replaced under warranty. In october 2008, we again experienced problems with the coolant expansion tank leaking and again had to have it replaced at a cost of $389.32 plus the cost of a rental car, as the parts were not immediately available. My understanding is that a technical service bulletin has been issued by saab regarding this recurring problem with the turbo v-6 engine, as the turbocharger is located too close to the expansion tank. I do not feel that it is reasonable to have to replace the coolant expansion tank twice within a 14 month period on a ca
brakes 3 complaints shown
The ABS system was not working correctly for the first 6 months that I owned the car. This caused the rear brakes to be partially engaged all the time when the car was driven. It was so bad that you could hear and smell the brakes scraping. The dealer said it was all right to drive the vehicle. I took them approx. 6 months to get the correct parts to repair the problem. All the time the brakes were rubbing which caused them prematurely wear out. I have never in my life had rear brakes wear out in 15k miles. One of two things has happened. The ABS caused the pads to wear out or they had bad brake pads to begin with.(note: my other saab has 30k miles on it and still has it's original rear brakes). *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 saab 9-3. The contact discovered that his brakes failed shortly after starting the vehicle when he placed the vehicle in reverse to back out of his parking space. When the transmission is shifted from park into reverse or drive before the engine has been warmed up, the brakes do not work to slow the vehicle and the brake pedal feels rock hard. To stop the vehicle the contact shifted the transmission into park. Brake function appeared to return to normal after the engine warmed up. This failure has occurred on four separate occasions. At 15,383, the contact struck another vehicle when the brakes failed while reversing out of a parking space. The crash occurred at low-speed approximately 2mph and no one was injured. The contact's vehicle was scratched but t
Intermittent brake failure. More noticeable at cold starts pulling out forward or backward. Brake pedal goes to the floor with very little braking power. Very dangerous to drive and we parked the car and contacted the dealer. They have now had the car for 4 weeks and are waiting on a part from the factory. This is a very dangerous situation on this car and could very easily result in an accident with injuries or death. I am a male and it was all I could do to get the car stopped on at least 2 occasions. I had to use the emergency brake on one occasion to avoid a collision. This car has 32,000 miles on it. The dealer said the problem was a vacuum line on the brake booster but the replacement must come from saab. I am not sure if this will resolve the problem or not. *tr

I have a 2006 saab convertible. I left to go to work this morning and there was a horrible noise in the front. I drive the interstate part way to work and the noise seemed to lessen. When I got off the interstate and came to a stop light the noise was extremely loud. I turned around and took my care to the dealership where I had purchased this vehicle. I found out that both of the front coil springs had fractured and one was stuck in my passenger side tire. The tire on the inside had been cut all the way around the wheel. I was told that the service people could not believe that I did not get in an accident. I had to investigate this issue with saab's on the internet in order to find that it was a problem. I then called saab dealership (the only one in the area) 30 miles away and

I own a 2006 saab 9-3 aero wagon with approximately 33,000 miles on the vehicle and the wiper system is broken. The wipers failed while driving at night on a recent trip and we were 200 miles away from home. We had to drive at night in the rain with no way to clear the windshield. The failure was not simply a broken wiper blade as I could have easily repaired that, but instead the wiper linkage broke. The plastic pieces in the system show signs of cracking and will not stay in place. *tr

Vehicle stalls for no reason. This has happened while driving on the highway and during routine trips through streets with stop lights and stop signs. Check engine light comes on intermittently. Has been inspected my numerous mechanics and cannot find a problem.
